NOW THIS IS JUST STRANGE

1 Attachment(s)
Was out cleaning my windows just a little while ago and when I was done I remembered that I had a bunch of antennas that came from the junkyard. When I went to screw off the stock antenna, this is what I found:
Attachment 30164
Has someone switched my antenna or has a bird been pecking on it or is this normal? Never noticed it before.

UltraFRS 03-09-2013 04:09 PM

If it sits outside over night...maybe a cat?

Beyer Subaru 03-09-2013 04:10 PM

Prolly birds landing on it and/or cats chewing on it at night. I'm assuming though that you park outdoors over night?

TouchMyHonda 03-09-2013 04:13 PM

Small animals clearly chew on that.

White64Goat 03-09-2013 04:16 PM

No foot prints or bird poo anywhere in sight. Not many cats in my neighborhood. Looks like tiny punctures.......

shawnperolis 03-09-2013 04:42 PM

Car vampires.

Huehuecoyotl 03-09-2013 04:44 PM

rats

White64Goat 03-09-2013 05:26 PM

RATS? :lol:Haven't seen any ladder packing rats around the area.

Word 03-09-2013 05:38 PM

This could have totally been a 'squatch.

GregV 03-09-2013 05:43 PM

Cat is the best bet.

Rats are pretty good at climbing, although usually they'll stick to warm areas like the engine bay. If you have rats you'll almost certainly see rat droppings on top of the engine. If that's the case, put poison around your car before they chew into your wiring or insulation.

'I think there may be a squatch in these woods' :lol:Hmmmm, I do live near some woods.........

russv 03-09-2013 05:58 PM

Maybe a gnarly chick looking for a quickie:lol:

joergasm 03-09-2013 06:11 PM

2 possibilities

1 - animal: cat, squirrel, rat, etc
2 - crackhead/zombie

Outlawstar98 03-09-2013 06:12 PM

Ahh damn, that was me. My bad.

CircuitJerk 03-09-2013 06:20 PM

My guess is squirrels, or raccoons.
You might want to keep an eye on other things made of similar materials. They like that sort of thing.

wbradley 03-09-2013 06:52 PM

I don't see why an animal would chew an I edible plastic object, except maybe a dog. Cat very unlikely, and the "bite" marks look to be With a fair amount of force. Someone traded with u? Might have been at dealer. You can have mine I'd u want, I have a shark fin.

Cats chew on objects all the time, usually after scratching themselves with it.

White64Goat 03-09-2013 08:04 PM

I have been looking for a replacement antenna for a while and discovered that a 2012 Ford Focus antenna will fit and it has a longer stem plus the stem is wrapped with a wire under the rubber coating. Also found a 31" stainless steel one in my garage that has the correct thread but I need to cut about a 1/2" off the threads so it installs flush with the collar on it. The FM reception stinks so I'm hoping one of these improves it.

Zaku 03-09-2013 08:19 PM

Is this just all the more reason to get those sharkfin replacements?

Yep I know cats pretty well. Some of my best friends were cats.

No, mostly FM and Sirius.

zoomzoomers 03-09-2013 09:09 PM

Gremlins...

Khazzy 03-09-2013 09:30 PM

I heard the car loves teeth when foreplay is involved. Sexual tendencies with this vehicle are not uncommon.

You were close, it's a yeti!

BRZfan 03-10-2013 11:37 AM

Sprinkle some baby powder of talcum powder in the area of said criminal property damage. Check the following day and take closeup photo of tracks if any. Send evidence photos to us for evaluation. You may want to rub cat food or dog food only on the antenna for better results. If a feline, check back with BRZfan and 'Killer", the feared neighborhood Doberman, will hunt it down at no charge. Any other creature will be at cost. (one case of premium dog food payable in advance)

Turbowned 03-10-2013 12:00 PM

My dog ate it?

RWD-boxer 03-10-2013 12:14 PM

Cats for sure my wife's parents lived with a person nextdoor that fed the cats
And they loved my tc's shorty antenna

Blue86 03-10-2013 02:16 PM

Yep a cat did that. Looks like the antenna on my router

Allch Chcar 03-10-2013 06:16 PM

I don't want to say it was CATS, but...
...CATS.

LeeMaster 03-10-2013 07:03 PM

Time to raise the sensitivity on your car alarm!

86's need lovin too.

Setup a gopro and find out who/what is doin it!

My buddy has caught some "women of the night" doing "things" to his truck.

Perhaps someone needed to floss, or thought they could help you get better reception if they chewed through the rubber/plastic?

Makes you think twice about where you park.

On a serious note, looks like small animals.

Hawaiian 03-11-2013 04:08 AM

That'll buff out.

Marcoscrdo 03-11-2013 01:13 PM

Any crazy ex girlfriends you have not mentioned? :bonk:
