I was combing ebay for old school jdm wheels when i found these. I didnt want to spend 2k and get the offsets wrong so this was a better option.
they look spot on too.
as soon as my coils get here i will post some proper pictures...
stupid snow. :mad0259:

Right on, even without coilovers it still looks nice b/c of the meaty tires. We ended up with 18x8.5 +40 wheels for ours in the end but i'm glad someone else went with 16"s (and they look great!)

It's also kind of tough to find 16" in 5x100 in good sizes so the Compe is a great choice IMO.

yeah you arent kidding... i was going nuts, considering adapters and all kinds of crap.
i wanted the meaty look cause i plan to drive this car pretty hard.
Thanks again.

AE86guy 03-06-2013 05:26 PM

:w00t:Looks good!

dem00n 03-06-2013 05:35 PM

Looks great! Needs a bit of a drop but not much.

Turbowned 03-06-2013 05:47 PM

Cool! I just hope they don't look as mexi-flush when it's lowered.

JETRED 03-06-2013 06:43 PM

Love it!!! Love it more with a little drop:happyanim:
I am thinking about going the retro rim route too, maybe rota RKRs or these.

Shit Luck 03-06-2013 07:15 PM

just wait a few days fellas.
i will have plenty of pics for you all.

BigFatFlip 03-06-2013 07:41 PM

mmmmm...meaty

Huehuecoyotl 03-06-2013 08:23 PM

NICELY DONE!

Cade01 03-07-2013 01:55 AM

I wish they came in closer to a +30et. What is price of tires like in that size? I would hope that goods tires would still be quite a bit cheaper than the same tire in a 17.

Shit Luck 03-07-2013 02:07 AM

as is normal with tires it all depends what you want to spend...

ImAwesome 03-07-2013 02:15 AM

want to see it tucking

Turdinator 03-07-2013 04:38 AM

Nice! I had been wondering how this style would look with a good offset :party0030:

dori. 03-07-2013 05:37 AM

yeah that front... pokes a bit but I love the concept

maybe get them machined to a higher offset?

Shit Luck 03-07-2013 01:01 PM

:bonk: does nobody read?
its on stock suspension, still waiting for coils to show up.

GTM_Challenge 03-08-2013 03:12 PM

Got curious to know what it would look like with a drop. Not too bad:

philstar 03-08-2013 08:10 PM

Wouldnt happen to know the wheel weight of these would you?

Definitely looks like a good choice. Im considering going 16's with a 205 primarily for drift!

I personally think that the first drop looks perfect, while the second one isn't bad its not to my taste.

Edit: Looking back it, they both look nice.

Interestingly, I've found a couple of dif sites (none authoritative) that list the 16x8 Compe's weight at 22lbs

Shit Luck 03-15-2013 07:51 PM

they didnt feel that heavy...
I am waiting for somethings to get squared away with all the parties involved before i get my coils on. I will have more info hopefully this coming week and some better pics.

Cade01 03-15-2013 10:08 PM

I am working on it. Coils are here just need to get the time. Hopefully later this week.

russv 03-17-2013 08:34 PM

So how does it handle with the 16's?

no real noticable difference, it doesn't feel as harsh over pavement joints etc...

Shit Luck 03-18-2013 02:52 PM

snagged a quick pic today... shitty phone pic.

They look great! Cant wait to see the car with the coilovers on it. Any chance of getting a couple shots from the front and back down the side to show how much they poke, please? Also, any idea if 16" tires are easier to find than 17s in the appropriate size? I love how they look, I want a set for my white out.

Shit Luck 03-18-2013 03:08 PM

i ordered tires from discount, no big deal getting tires.
I will do a lot more pics once the coils get on, with a real camera hopefully and not my phone.
I am just waiting for people to get back in town and everyone to get on the same page. I hate having parts sitting and waiting but i do.

Cade01 03-22-2013 12:47 PM

Any updates?

Shit Luck 04-03-2013 06:55 PM

new pics on page 1

Flow 04-03-2013 07:47 PM

Thanks boss. Any luck getting them weighed?

Shit Luck 04-03-2013 07:58 PM

Shit, I knew I forgot something....

Cade01 04-04-2013 03:07 PM

Nice! How do they fit now that you're lowered? What kind of camber are you having to run?

Wonderbar 04-04-2013 03:57 PM

Nice, this was one of the sets I was looking at, only red centers with machined lip.

they only come in white or gunmetal so I think you may have been looking at xxr's version.

alignment is pretty street friendly right now:
toe- 0*
camber- -.75*
caster- 5.6
rear:
camber--1.75
toe- 1/8
