5axis wing

So I'm really on the fence with getting one or not. What do you guys think? 5axis wing or no wing?

Superhatch 03-03-2013 07:25 PM

Both.

Laika 03-03-2013 07:30 PM

5axis all the way. It's perfect for someone who wants an attractive spoiler while still looking subtle and OEM+

@chenshuo that's being said, if you'd want a lip spoiler that covers the BRZ limited's holes, you could go with @Ray@Carsmo's CARSMO spoiler or @WheelDude.com's Stivo spoiler

fatoni 03-03-2013 08:18 PM

if you were on the fence, dont do it. why spend money on something you are ambivalent about?

Mandy 03-03-2013 08:20 PM

Saw one in person on an FR-S same color as mine. Immediately decided I didn't like it. If I was going for a wing, I would do something over the top:

That totally defines over the top LOL, I'm a huge fan of this spoiler though.

Agent_86 03-03-2013 09:53 PM

I have the 5Axis spoiler. I really like it! The stock frs/brz look so smooth and curvy. I wouldn't want to jack up the look with some ricey over the top wing. The 5axis spoiler is subtle yet stylish. IMO

Looks like a late model celica spoiler.

yeah ovet the top but its functional due to Rear wheel drive.. yeah some what looks like the celica but on the celica its just for looks aka FWD:bellyroll: like the RSX "integra" wing...

if i was to rock this wing i would have turbo :burnrubber: but i like NA motors.. just want to tweak it and get the most out of it:burnrubber:

switchlanez 03-04-2013 12:18 AM

Since you are debating between the Five Axis wing and wingless, I say get the Five Axis wing. If you ever tire of the look, you can revert back to wingless Then back to winged. Whenever you feel the need to change the look, going back and forth between winged and wingless is a way to do it. This trick might even pay off by delaying the urge to buy other exterior mods to change up your look.

A spoiler is hardly just for looks on fwd. I'm not an expert but there is more to it than just downforce, other things like drag and lift also need to be taken into consideration.

maxx1957 03-04-2013 09:43 AM

I ordered one on ebay a few weeks ago, great price $ 350.00 painted, should be here in a couple of days....

Nazarite 03-04-2013 09:48 AM

@maxx1957 link to ebay vendor please? That's an awesome price.

here ya go

Nazarite 03-04-2013 12:42 PM

Very nice, give us an update when you've received yours and installed. Good luck!

Captain_Awesome_Pants 03-04-2013 01:07 PM

I'd be interested to see a close up pic of the paint job on that. 350 seems really low for a high quality paint job included. Then again, you could have hit an awesome find there!

MVJ1975 03-04-2013 01:13 PM

If it's like mine, they're painted by FiveAxis. They did a great job color-matching them.

Exactly. I'd have to see some high res pics of a shipped product before going anywhere near that.

maxx1957 03-04-2013 11:04 PM

When It comes in I'll take pics....the guy seems really cool, updated me with the whole process, from ordering to having it painted and letting me know when it was shipped,,, we'll see.....

maxx1957 03-05-2013 11:16 PM

Thanks for posting them. They're a bit too low res and dark to make any judgement calls at this point though... Post some higher res images tomorrow in the daylight! Try getting a good reflection so we can make out the finish (if possible).

Captain_Awesome_Pants 03-19-2013 06:54 PM

Since no one posted better pics of the painted 5Axis that was on eBay (yet), I thought I'd post some pics of what I received from ft86's own vendor, Pure Automotive:
