Jackson's Toyota/Scion in Barrie thoughts?

Hey, I'm looking at buying the FR-S at Jackson's Toyota/Scion in Barrie, overall they have been good with me up to date with all my questions and what not, but would just like to know if anyone has any experience with them before I throw down my deposit next week. Thanks

Usually everyone is nice to you, until you throw down some money in there face.

Than you're in their hands, lol.

Make sure the deposit is refundable if you are uneasy about it, but sounds like you are getting treated well.

I think one of our buddies in ESC, she got a red firestorm from there, no problems, waited a day or so. @Hotrice

A twin in Kirkland Lake? Do you plan to drive year round? If so, there may be days you will be shut in!

Isn't there a Toyota/Scion dealer in North Bay?

Just double checked, Barrie seems to be the closest, atleast if I need local maintainenance I can go the Toyota dealer in New Liskeard. (They told me it could be serviced at any Toyota dealership)

I'm not 100% sure yet if I will be driving it in the winter but probably wont be, as much as I'd love to, for the sake of the car it may be best not to LOL. Aside from winter, summer driving in Kirkland Lake is nearly just as bad with a low vehicle, potholes left and right.:mad0259:

While you are up there...
Swing by Barrie Subaru and see if you can drive one of the blue BRZ they have... ask to try the lowered one and see what they say..

Ohh aha, well I won't be up there until May when the car is in. I'm doing my pre-order over the phone because I live 6 hours away but that's the nearest scion dealer

Yeah I told em to keep the primacy's and install my lowering springs in exchange. Running my new wheels and tires up there this weekend so I can drive it home on delivery day.
It will be on eibach pro kit and my wheels on delivery day oops and plate relocate kit. My ride up there will haul the stock wheels minus tires and the stock springs home for me so I can take the long way home without worryin about that stuff rolling around in the back. A little over 2 weeks to go!!

I have Purchased 2 cars from Jacksons. My 2010 Matrix XRS and most recently my FR-S.

The purchase experience by and large has been fairly painless as I knew going in exactly what I wanted. In fact when it came to my FR-S I knew more about the car than the sale associate. But that didn't detract from my purchase experience.

Pat at the parts department was super helpful in kitting me out with wheels and tires which were installed prior to my delivery and Noel my sales asscoiate made sure that my plate relocation kit was installed instead of drilling. Also, Jacksons does not use any adhesive dealer markings anymore on any of their cars. Only dealer plate frames which is a plus in my books. I hate stick on dealer logos.

Where Jacksons really shines is in their Service Department. Mike is by far the best service advisor on the floor and Cindy is constantly emailing me service reminders.

Like I said, 2 cars purchased from them and three cars that get serviced exclusively there. I would and am recommending them as a preferred dealer.

Just want to give another thumbs up for Jacksons. I picked it up last July and like previous posters said, no BS and painless. Every time I bring it back in everyone I talk to seems to be genuinely interested in how awesome the car is. haha I'm pretty sure they all want one, and why wouldn't they?!

Glad to see all these positive messages, deposit should be going in on the 19th, for a 6MT Firestorm, hopefully it's in mid May!

Anyone still looking to lease a Firestorm FR-S? Mines from Jackson's http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38968

Sambo FRS 06-14-2013 01:51 PM

I just bought an FRS from Jacksons within the last 4 weeks, and it was great first new car experience. The people there are very friendly, and seemed as excited as I was about the car.

However, I will say that they were pretty difficult to squeeze answers out of, and were pretty casual about returning my calls, sometimes not calling back at all.

Case in point (and not the only incident), I've been waiting for 3 weeks for an answer on when my TRD exhaust and intake will arrive. For some inexplicable reason my parts werent ordered until the week the car was due to arrive, so naturally they were not there when the car was.

I was told I would get a call the following week to let me know about my parts, which never happened. I finally called last Thursday to see what was up, and was told I would get an ETA on Friday. Well its a week later and Im still waiting for that ETA...

But all in all they were good to me, and despite having to twist arms to get answers, it was still a pretty painless/enjoyable experience, and I have no regrets with my purchase or the dealership I chose.
