HSD coilovers available?

So i just contacted a performance shop that carries HSDs and placed my order for the coilovers.

Paid about 1250$ , its introduction price which is pretty sweet for HSDs

shop was called ************************

http://***************.ca/products-p...hsd-coilovers/

Should be receiving them mid March!

What do you think ?

I had HSD HR Coilovers on my Evo 9 and i loved them, really nice.
The only thing that bothed me was that they placed the adjusting knob on the bottom of the coilover ( for the front ).
Which seems kinda retarded?

Hmmm, This is going to be my first set of coil overs from HSD :)
So i'm pretty stoked, maybe it was just for the evo 9 that the adjusting knob was in front?

If they're inverted then that's pretty normal.

You spoke to rob?
He funny eh?

SupraRon 02-27-2013 03:46 PM

I have the HSD HR series on my Supra. Love them. Never had any complaints or problems. I tracked the car 3 times with them on. Since these are the only coilovers I've ever run, I cannot provide a comparison to other brands. Definitely a cost-effective way to lower your stance and improve handling. I'll likely get a set of these for the FR-S too.

FRS2NV 02-28-2013 11:53 PM

I hear the same positive comments from alot of people saying that there happy with HSD....Nothing but outstanding reviews when i searched...
This is why i went ahead and purchased a set...

Hey, i'll be picking these up in Toronto maybe we can meet up?
What color is your FRS?

Sithspawn 03-01-2013 12:51 AM

Hmmm...I had HSD's on my WRX and did not like them. No matter what I did with the damping, the ride sucked and handled like crap. The front was underdamped and the rear was overdamped. The adjustment didn't do squat. I really understood just how bad they were when I ponied up for a set of AST 4100's custom valved by TiC for crappy American roads. The AST's absolutely slay the HSD's in ride quality, braking and cornering. Yes, braking. I don't know how important that is to you, but when your ABS is engaging over rough road because the HSD's can't keep your tires on the road and the car isn't slowing down I think you'll come to realize you could've made a better choice in dampers.

HSD is fantastic and they put a lot of thought into their setups. They aren't like Megan / BC Racing / K Sport etc who just slap random valving and spring rates onto cars.

I know for a fact a TON of work has gone into the 86 version of their HR coil-overs and that people will be very happy.

Word is, 2 versions available... BRZ and GT86. hush hush now

Anyone got these on their car yet? While i did want to go for a real Japanese brand or KW v3, the price of these over here in the uk is very tempting. Really looking forward to hearing some opinions/reviews

wow lucky i'm jealous.. another 1-3 weeks for me i would assume... coilovers will be here in another week and a half...

apparently theres 2 types..

one for the FRS and one for the BRZ

according to the HSD rep, the FRS hsd coil overs are more for street. and the BRZ are more for track. My supplier ended up getting me the BRZ ones lol.

Service center/provider/rebuilder.

Some brands are notoriously difficult to rebuild here due to where the warranty center is located.

VENOM~ 03-12-2013 01:19 AM

when the shocks fail or the adjustment collars rust to the point they seize where can I buy replacement parts from or send my shocks in to be rebuilt?

So far from what I understand HSD was first big in europe and has since gotten more and more popular in NA. what concerns me is after purchase support which you receive from similar brand price point coilovers. fortune auto for example.

As gotcha, I believe it's all in North America Idon't really know, but i've heard from other forums from Gencoupe that they are rebuildable in NA
