Last Thursdays Portland area 86ers meetup

I'd like to have a once a month meet for all of us Portland area people. Lets do last Thursdays every month. I picked a place (Pizza Baron) pretty close to I-205 (only 1 mile east away from I-205 on Division). Pizza Baron has a large parking lot, and decent pizza. For those of you that show up I'll try to remember to bring stickers from Perrin, Whiteline, and others if interested. I still have one Perrin license plate cover left I'd happily donate to a new home.

Meet 630pm until 830pm. If people aren't outside with their cars then we are inside having Pizza, salad, drinking, or playing a video game.

That place does a lot of school sports parties and things like that better make sure we have a reservation.

Chen 02-25-2013 01:26 AM

Sounds fun.. I have the day off. I may be attending.

DarrenDriven 02-25-2013 02:19 AM

I'll probably show... so close to my place!

BRZPDX 02-25-2013 01:43 PM

Sounds fun, not sure if I can make it this week but if I do, I'll bring stickers/license plate frames etc., I get from buying parts which I do not plan on putting on.

Lverasky 02-25-2013 02:41 PM

I off at 5PM, I will come straight to meet you guys up. I am so exciting because I have never attend one of this FRS/BRZ meeting before.

Please please watch my back.

tech4pdx 02-25-2013 02:55 PM

I'll be there

Chen 02-25-2013 03:18 PM

I'm interested in seeing some of your new mods in person josh.

Yes of course. That's one reason some of us like meeting up is to get ideas for our own cars. :)

I'll bring the Japanese gauges for people to look at in case anyone wants to buy them as they ended up being FR-S only and don't work on my BRZ.

DarrenDriven 02-25-2013 11:29 PM

Dang, I can't make it this Thursday. There is an obligation I can't get out of... unless they cancel, then I will be there.

Pdxc43 02-26-2013 04:22 AM

I can't make Thursdays, but I've got a couple of license plate frames and perrin stickers to donate ;)

stockysnail 02-27-2013 04:24 PM

Sounds like we have 4 people coming so far and one maybe.

tech4pdx 02-27-2013 05:08 PM

I have a box of random car shit for anybody who wants it!

BrzRacer 02-27-2013 05:18 PM

Hi guys, So, I finally relocated to Portland this past weekend with the Fam. I haven’t purchased my car yet (may time frame) but I will to love to meet with you guys and show up in my car rental if that’s fine with everyone.

Start coming earlier so you don't get mashed with 205-north traffic.

I'll probably come, along with a few friends.

Agreed. I learned my lesson last time!

Lverasky 02-27-2013 06:34 PM

Exciting to see how you all MOD the car. I want to learn.

stockysnail 02-27-2013 06:50 PM

I was hoping to have my Nameless down pipe installed for tomorrow but it's not looking like that will happen. I do have the Nameless axle back revised (8" mufflers) exhaust on it however.

Put it up on jack stands and let's do it! That's how I got my exhaust on!

I don't remember which part of the engine or trans or whatever I need to jack up to get the overpipe in. I'll have to ask Jason at Nameless as I forgot.

You don't have to jack up the engine. But it is easier. I wish I knew that before.

stockysnail 02-27-2013 07:30 PM

I'm Facebook chatting with Jason now to get a grip on where to jack it up. Sounds like I need to unbolt the passenger engine mount then jack up the header-ish area 1" to get the overpipe through with ease. I just hope the damn exhaust bolts aren't stuck on from heat and I can get them off without killing myself.

Yeah man. No judgements, patience with all and we're all learning. I should start wearing tie dye shirts to these meets. (:

Yes it's sport catted. I like cats. :)

stockysnail 02-27-2013 11:04 PM

With encouragement from @Chen on this thread, I thought I'd put my car up on jack stands in the front and take the stock overpipe off and put the Nameless one one. After taking everything out and trying to put the new one on I came to the realization that my car wasn't high enough in the middle, nor could I make it high enough. Since I couldn't get the thing in ( I talked to Jason at Nameless to see what my options were) I had to put the stock one back one. 2 hours wasted. :( So tomorrow morning I'm driving up to La Center to visit Nameless and they are going to put it on for me. I guess that's what I get for not waiting to use Darren's lift. ;) At least I won't have to use him this way. This means I should have the overpipe on for the get together tomorrow night. :)

I unfortunately live on a hill and can only safely jack my car up in the front or back but not both as I would tip over I'm sure if I put it on 4 jack stands! :(

stockysnail 02-27-2013 11:07 PM

I'm hoping I can convince them to let me do my diff fluid while it's on the lift and they are doing the exhaust. :)

Tell me about it. I got new vinyl eye lids today to make my BRZ look angrier, end up fucking it up, and heat gun tore up the vinyl while I was stretching it.. Also attempted wrapping my side mirrors with Carbon Fiber wrap I picked up at a local shop for $10, that went much better but was super time consuming and I fucked up cutting the edges out.

The only think I was successfully able to install was the 20% tint for the rear/reflector lights. That was pretty easy..

BRZPDX 02-28-2013 01:30 AM

The good news is, I got the Invidia catless downpipe and going down to Perrin to buy the inlet hose and CAI set!! Installing it on Sunday

Chen 02-28-2013 02:24 AM

I may be buying Perrin sway bars tomorrow. Sense everybody else is doing upgrades!

stockysnail 02-28-2013 03:19 AM

Soon we will all have similar cars with all the upgrading we are doing. ;) Although I think I'm one of the few that actually bothered with all the suspension bushings. If I don't track or autocross my car someone should slap me, or just sign me up and tell me I'm going. If only I wasn't out of money I could keep upgrading and get nice AP racing brakes, some more cool cosmetic stuff like full alcantara interior, and perhaps a supercharger. Alas, I blew my wad.

I blew my wad with reading all the upgrades you've done! Haha. Anyway.
Any update on how many and who's attending?

stockysnail 02-28-2013 03:56 AM

I think about 5 owners and a few non/future-owners. That's my best guess at this point.
