Or your local Subaru Dealer. Most stores have been running a 15% off sale on parts for some time now.

Has anyone else tried using other vehicle's inner mirrors? I curious if other Toyota or other OEM inner mirrors would work.

The mirrors are made by Gentex. There are tons of other manufacturers using the same mirrors. I know a few Nissans, Infinitis, and GMs use them.

mirror

I still have the optional auto dimming mirror with homelink and courtesy light from my 05 TC that I will be installing soon. It's currently installed in a 2000 Mazda pickup truck, so I don't see it being a problem in the FR-S.

all the same mirrors you can order it anywhere.

Anyone wanna give a review of whether it was worth it?

I currently want to buy it - but can't justify spending 200 bucks on a not needing to use my old garage door opener, but at the same time - really want to consolidate lol. I get kinda OCD about that kind of stuff.

It's not just about replacing your old garage door opener, it does that and for two more garages. The real attraction is safety with auto dimming and getting some sense of direction - especially at night - with the campus.

I felt that it's worth it as it gives you two additional crucial function - even if you don't have a garage, let alone need a garage door opener - which are worth something.

Besides, it really looks more substantial and attractive all around.

Does that help you?

I bought it because I like how it looks. (ordered with the car) the auto dim feature is cool too. I hate how difficult it is to set up with rolling code garages and I hate how it rattles.

The first time i had those was on my brand new altima coupe. I really liked the auto dimming and not having to clip chunky garage remote on my visor. When i bought my brz i just had to get it. The features are really convenient.

Rattles?

I have the mirror. Yes it rattles with bass. It's the only thing in my car that rattles with bass. I think it's on the bottom of the mirror. If I hold the bottom and top, it stops rattling. I've been contemplating making a little "clamp" of sorts to fix it.

Skippman 02-22-2013 10:12 AM

Is it the two halves of the shell that are rattling against each other? Might just be as simple as some clear caulk to seal it and act as a shock absorber.

I've noticed that tightening down the mounting screw seems to help with the rattle. maybe some thread lock on that screw could solve it long term.

i love mine. insert obligatory radar display picture here.
