SF Bay area: Custom Exhaust Shop
Anyone can recommend an exhaust shop in the SF bay area that would be happy to do some custom exhaust work?
Thanks! |
World Mufflers off El Camino in Sunnyvale has always been there for my needs. Pat is the owner, very affordable and honest work.

Muffler works in Albany is good. http://m.yelp.com/biz/muffler-works-albany
Mich can be kinda cranky guy but he does awesome work built a nice under diff exhaust for my ae86 and did a bunch of custom work on my friends aw11. |
100% recommend "Burlingame Mufflers" in Burlingame, CA.
The owner is a genius and can literally do anything. A magician. An Alchemist. Tell him Casey with the yellow s2000 sent you. Prices are already amazingly reasonable. Be sure to call ahead. |

Phil @ Spoolin' Performance in San Jose
this guy works from 8am-10pm doing what he does best, welding and fabricating, his exhaust systems and turbo manifolds are some of the best i've seen |
Yang auto repair shop in Oakland near Laney ignore the repair part lol he does everything with exhausts and repairs any exhaust problems or whatever
|
What's the difference between doing a custom versus manufactured exhaust? What's the price difference between one of these guys and a Borla, for instance? Performance difference? Sound difference?

i can also vouch for Pat at World Mufflers in Sunnyvale.

This post and @sw20kosh's awesome center exit/rear diffuser setup made me seek out the services of Dan at Burlingame Mufflers as well.
I wanted to have my headerback exhaust changed into a cat-back system, and that is exactly what I got. I love shops like this where it's clear the owner is passionate about cars, and enjoys talking about them. I also liked that I could get under the car with Dan to discuss what needed to be done and even assist where I could, like with the finicky overpipe headshields. Highly recommend Burlingame Mufflers for anyone looking for custom exhaust work/tweaks. Prices seem reasonable - the standard ~$100 an hour going rate. If you go, make sure to ask Dan about his crazy rotary engine powered hot rod he's building! Quote:

Hate to bring this up, but I'm curious if other people went ahead and have had experiences getting a custom set up?
