Markham Subaru review
My rating: 7/10 My experience with Markham Subaru was so-so. My sales guy did a good job ensuring that no one else test drive my car. When I picked up the car it only had 10km on it. He was not a pushy sales guy, which i like. Seems honest. He was good with informing me with delivery dates and was easy to get a hold with. He honoured my request to not have the car washed or detailed, just peel off the wrapping. However, my impression with Markham Subaru is that they are careless. I specifically called them to make sure that the rubber plugs in the glove box for the tie-down holes to be installed, but after i drove my car home it was not installed, still left in the glove box. On the day that I supposed to take delivery, i found out they installed the wrong mirror. I ordered the mirror with Homelink, but they didn't install that. Delivery was pushed back 4 more days cause they need to order the correct mirror. Also, tire pressure, i checked my tire cold, one tire was at 35psi, two are 40psi, another at 42psi. I mean sure, it's winter, they probably want to pump a little more than required, but at least make it all the same. All-in-all, the buying experience was alright, but i don't know if i will take my car to there for servicing and maintenance. |

Top 3 I hear from TSC:
- C&C Motors (Been with them since 93). - Willowdale Subaru. - Budds Subaru. Those are the top three imo. |
I bought from Subaru of Mississauga. My salesman did everything I asked for (which was to not touch the car essentially) and kept me in the know despite not having any more knowledge than I did apparently. I've heard horror stories about the dealership going back a few years but limited visits have been positive I have to say. Still haven't decided though who will get my business when it comes to service.

Test drove the first one at DVN Toyota, definitely wouldn't recommend them.
Ended up driving a manual one at Weitzes, and bought from them. The process was easy with zero pressure, car was delivered earlier than promised as well. ~12km's on the car when picked up in perfect shape. Service has been easy as well, already done my second oil change and no issues at all. |
Don Valley North Toyota review:
My rating: 4/10 I walked in one day wanted to see a FRS. No sales guy walked up to me when i was in there for around 10 mins, so I approached a sales guy walking around asking if i can test drive a FRS. He said he doesn't have the key, so asked me to wait and he'll get the guy who has the key. I waited at the same spot for about 5 mins, no one showed up, so i left. Horrible sales experience. |
Richmond Hill Subaru review:
my rating: 5/10 It was late october last year. I walked in Richmond Hill subaru on a rainy saturday afternoon. A bunch of guys were chatting around a desk. I stood there and one guy came up to me and I asked do you guys have a BRZ that i can have a look? the guy said no they don't but if you leave us $1000 deposit they'll get me a BRZ and there were 20 people on the wait list. I thanked him and left. Wouldn't want to buy a car at a place where they ask me for money first before anything else. |
Markville Toyota review:
My rating: 8.5/10 I went there on a Friday night less than 2 hours before closing. This sales guy came up to me and i said i wanted to see a FRS. He grabbed his jacket and took me outside. It was windy and cold. I was sitting in the FRS and he stood outside and explained to me all the features for a good 15 mins. The sales service is very good. Unfortunately i got turned off by the interior of the FRS otherwise i would have bought the car at Markville Toyota. |
Got mine from Subaru of London. Awesome experience! Maybe one of the best I've ever had buying a car.

Budd's 10/10
Not a single complaint. Brock was a very cool and laid back salesman, not a stitch of sleaze. Justin (manager) spent more time talking about my turbocharged E30 than trying to push bullshit extras on me. He offered me a few things but there was no pitch, just hey we got this, it does that, costs this much... want? No, cool. |

Rating: 8/10 I walked in, and a sales guy came right up to me. Started talking and said I was looking at an FRS. We sat down, wrote up some numbers, then he went to get the key (off another sales guy) so we could go for a test drive. They only had 1 Auto at the time I bought. I didn't have to wait in line for the test drive. We finished, passed off the key to the next person waiting, and finished up the paperwork. Super helpful, very friendly, and accomodating. Didn't feel pressured to buy (although I went in knowing I wanted to buy). My sales guy kept me informed (as much as he knew) throughout my waiting period. He had the answers to most of my questions. My experience, I would definatly recommend my sales guy. Not going to say DVN, since others had bad experiences. I didn't. Been to DVN for servicing twice now. Once for a diagnosis, then the second time for a warrenty repair. Didn't wait long. Car was taken right away and worked on. The car wasn't out of my sights for more than 60 seconds (enough to drive it into the bay). I like they have large windows into their bay so you can see what's going on. Going Feb 19 for my 3month oil change. I don't suspect any issues, but we'll see. |
DVN Toyota
0/1000. Don't even bother, they just want your cash and than treat you like ass. |
Markham Subaru
Dealership - 7.5/10 My sales guy was nice and friendly as was the atmosphere of the dealership. My sales went smoothly but I had not been picky about anything at all. My dealer responded to emails promptly and kept me up to date with the delivery process back in April-July. Service - 1/10 I took my BRZ to be serviced there twice. First time was to get replacement taillights from the condensation. At first, there were no problems but after a month or 2 I am starting to notice condensations in the tails again. Im not sure if this is the installation or the product itself and Im still observing them before I do anything about it. The 2nd time a fuse blew and I was unaware (checked the wrong fuse). They spent 1-2 hours searching through my entire car, looked in my trunk found my toolbox opened it, told the service representative that they found LEDs in there and accused me of having them installed and causing a problem. They then also found my reverse lights had LEDs installed and refused to continue unless they were paid $105/Hour for labour because the LEDs have voided my warranty. After they went and "put everything back" in my car which took longer than I expected I was charged 69.99. |
Hmm C&C rated well by TSC?
Are these ratings service or sales? I need to choose a subie dealer and its between Peterborough and C&C atm. Buying the car from Barrie and certainly not driving all the way there for every service. |

My Buying experience from Whitby Toyota was a positive one though I don't have any stories about ordering it and waiting 6 months to get it. I walked in, they had the exact car I wanted and I bought it the next day. two days later it was ready to go. Sales guy wasn't pushy, finance guy was easy to deal with. havn't had it in for service yet, as I only got it late last year and it's put away for the winter. Although I need to get it home soon, as my mountain of parts is slowly taking over my garage and need to be installed. |

Don't think so. Mine is Asphalt, not Raven, and was delivered July 16th. It came off the truck July 10th but my wedding was the 14th and I had too much running around to do the last couple days before to take delivery.

So I was the second unit to be delivered at Weitzes. Sales,'simple no complications. PASS Service, decent but didn't know about any widespread issues such as fuel pump crickets. Will see if they comment on my exhaust and catch can next service. So far PASS |
[MILTON SCION] - Rating 7.5/10
Sales Service: The guy I got it through was Bob Taylor (he is a great guy). He will honor any requests you make such as no bumper drilling and so forth, no hassle either as I spoke to him and told him I want to pre-order and got my car June 13, 2012. I was the first person to get the car from that dealership, everything was very good he didn't try to sell me anything (except the car) very straight forward and no mark up either. Got me some free oil change visits and so forth and tried to hook me up as much as he can when I kept asking for more. Dealership Service in General: So far everyone there seems friendly, regardless of who you are (mind you I came in once and looked like a homeless person, since I just woke up and I was off work to go pick up my FR-S) if you are on the floor and unattended someone will approach you to ask if you need assistance even the receptionist will try and get you someone. They are more than happy to service people also they like to build up on their customers as a community, I had one of the other managers out of no where while I was waiting for an oil change ask me if I can talk to another FR-S owner about tips for first things to do with the car like opti-coat, clear bra, etc since he was apparently at a loss. Automotive Services: So far I've done the following; - First oil change, since it was free at their expense - Drivers side rubber seal issue where it would get caught every time the window rolled up - Second oil change, as it was free yet again - Tail light condensation, so far they replaced the tail lights as I showed them a video of when it happened from my phone since I figured they wouldn't be able to replicate it and they took that as proof. So far all four visits have been pleasant, they took good care of me and told me everything that was going on the waiting area was well organized and I can book appointments online as well. After my first oil change the service technician gave me an entire list of preventive maintenance schedules up until 175,000kms along with the printed costs which I thought was pretty neat. [THE CONS] - PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, opt-out of the complimentary car wash. I don't know what they do with it but it definitely is worse than any two bucket method I have ever seen. I personally don't want them cleaning my car as there is marks on the car now at certain angles and I have a Raven so its just that much more noticeable. - The parts guy is average, I asked about winter tire options and wheel sizes with the tires they had in stock also asked about touch up paint. He was just meh, slightly helpful but just enough to make it seem not so 50/50 for him. |
Anyone with any Hamilton/Burlington dealer experiences? Yeah I know that's pushing the GTA boundary a bit ;)
|
Anyone have experience with Willowdale Subaru?

I hit 8k in about 3 months, and am over 17k now but if you're still under 8k don't even think about going in at 3 months. The Subaru oil change interval is 10k so 8k is super conservative. |
For the people who got their scion from don valley north toyota, how long did it take for you to get it? My guy estimated 1-2 months, but I feel like its kinda sketchy... Any help would be appreciated
|
I went to Aurora Toyota and me being a bit younger (22 y/o) I was ignored by everyone; receptionist, sales (all of them) and the manager. I spent 30 min walking around looking at the car when I finally got impatient and asked for assistance/ a test drive. I was told they do not let people test drive the car :/ . I wasn't taken seriously until I told them that I was going to buy the car today.

hey the wait times 2-3 months are normal Scion keeps all their cars in the same compound a little different from Toyota where their cars are allocated to the dealers so if they say they don't have the the one car you want option(s) colours, ect. They will have to have one built and sent in for you.

1/5 stars. Here's a TSC post. http://www.toronto-subaru-club.com/f...ce-pricey.html |
I ordered a WRB Sport-tech from C&C Motors in Whitby last week. During my visit, I spoke to John (GM – funny guy), Chris and Warren; they were all very nice to deal with. The BRZ are selling like hot cakes so they weren’t able to give me any discount but I did get $500 off from the auto show and John was also able to give me the rear diffuser for 50% off with installed.
They told me my car will be ready in March which surprised me, but they did have the VIN. Do you guys have any idea what the wait time is for the car to arrive at the dealership after they receive the VIN? This will be my first new car, so I’m really excited!!!:happyanim: |
I got my VIN 3 days ago, and ready to pick up this Saturday! My first car too :D

C&C motors 0/5 I cancelled order after being ****ed around and not taken seriously from day one.
Owen sound Subaru 5/5 very helpful and courteous! I dealt with Rob super nice guy! Returned calls ASAP and gave me a step by step arrival of the car from the train to being delivered to the dealer. Peterborough Subaru is where I get my servicing done 5/5 very helpful and looked after any issues I had/have ASAP and actually calls me back. Sharron (service manager is very helpful and easy to talk too, as this is my first brand new car. she was very reassuring, even though I've been working and reading about cars for 15 years and even restored a 84 Nissan 300ZX Turbo when I was 20.) |
I dealt with Everold at Oakville Toyota, and the overall service was quite good. Everold was quite busy so sometimes we had to wait, but other than that had a great experience there. All the other sales staff I've spoken with there have been very friendly as well.
I've only dealt with Burlington Toyota's service department, but the guys there are always great, Gord especially. |
C&C Motors - Whitby
9/10 Sales - Dealt with Chris who was terrific. No pressure, did not test drive first but service was great and car came with like 6km's. Service - Only had one oil change there and I stood in the oil bay basically watching the guy to the oil change and we talked about cars the whole time. Great service. I would definitely recommend C&C Motors. My family has bought 4 cars there since 1994. |
Maple Toyota
2/10 Went to buy a car with them. The salesman was extremely sketchy, would not give me any of the information or numbers. Calculated everything out by hand instead of through the system and would not even let me hold onto the paper with the numbers on it! Then proceeds to call me 1-2 times a week, harassing me about buying a car by them. So I bought my car with another dealership outside of Toronto (who was amazing) and get condensation in my tail lights. I call Maple since they are the closest to me to get the problem fixed, only for them to tell me that the tail lights are SUPPOSED to get water in them. Hung up and called the guys I got the car from and they ordered new tail lights with no questions asked or even looking at the car. Terrible experience, terrible employees. URGH |
Weitzes Toyota Scion. Sales rep Mark Hem.
Very courteous and listened. Didnt pretend to know a ton about the car when I preordered but that's OK as he was just going to a product orientation at Toyota HO 2 weeks after 1 preordered. Didnt offer me any extra deal. I did purchase a 2012 xB for myself just 6-7 months prior so I was hoping I'd get something. I refused to buy the Global tracking thingy. I don't recall him telling me about the break in period but I was rushed to go somewhere at the time and basically told him I will read the manual regarding features and operation. Overall experience good and upon pickup had a nice chat with Kevin Weitz who was driving another one of the first 86's that arrived. He gave me a nifty 86 branded drinking flask. Mine was the second unit delivered from the dealership as another raven went out the day before. |

Erin Park Toyota - 8/10
My salesman Alex was nice, he seemed to genuinely be into cars and seemed to care about me as a buyer, weeks later he even remembered my GF's name which i found quite nice. He was up front and honest about the car and timelines and all costs. He sadly moved to service before my car was delivered, so the updates that I would have liked never really happened. The sales manager was nice and came out to meet us. Never felt pressured into any extended warranties or services, they were offered but there was no second guessing by them when I refused. Delivery was smooth, no one else drove my car (only had 16kms on it), other than a lot of waiting around it all went off without a hitch. The biggest pain was the wait, it took 110 days from the day I ordered to get my car, can't say it was the dealer's fault but jesus it took for ever. Have not taken the car in for service yet as I only picked it up in December. |
Yorkdale is good. Small, but I couldn't really care less about the show room. Test drove twice, bargained once, left, came back and closed the deal. $600 off MSRP, free global i, no admin fee. Put down deposit June 28, picked up car July 14.
