I like this idea. There is a Subaru meet the first Wednesday of every month at the Quaker steak and lube in Robinson. never been to one but i've heard about it.

there is also Pittsburgh cars and coffee that meet on Saturdays/Sundays at the Starbucks in Robinson.

but definitely a meet for 86 owners come spring followed by a looong cruise through the laurel highlands and a stop at a lookout for a BADASS photo op..

lets do it!

Moxy 02-22-2013 09:17 AM

You had me at Quaker Steak and Lube...

crash the subaru meet with a gang of 86s haha

i know there are more pittsburgh guys creeping around on here. spread the word about this group!

Subaruwrxfan 02-22-2013 11:30 AM

I love Quaker Steak and Lube but the Subaru crowd that normally shows up for the Wednesday meet is a mixed bag. Used to be lots of cool guys a few years ago, but in my opinion it's been going downhill the past couple years as WRXs become cheaper and cheaper. I think we should start our own FT86 meet. I'm down for a meet even if it's just a handful of us grabbing a beer somewhere.

Hmm.. what is a good centralized location in the Pittsburgh area with a nice lot and maybe a patio bar?

I am located in Oakmont ATM so i could be pretty much anywhere in like 30 minutes.

Robinson seems reasonable unless you are trying to take the parkway there after work.. too much traffic on that shit hole.

Spencer Strayer 02-22-2013 11:59 AM

Lets meet at the stacks at the waterfront!

Sounds good to me.

Moxy 02-22-2013 04:32 PM

I'm down

mtsound 02-22-2013 04:38 PM

I can make it on a weekend for sure

brzninja 02-23-2013 12:51 AM

Waterfront is close I'm down for that!

BRZerk 02-23-2013 11:43 AM

Ok guys so there seems to be a lot of interest in meeting at the stacks in the waterfront. It seems like a good centralized location. Also the stacks should be a nice backdrop if we want to take any photos.

The next decision is when we should meet. I was thinking we should wait for a warm weekend in march?

What do you guys thinks? Also, keep spreading the word about this group. There are more 86 owners in the pittsburgh area and I would like to include as many as possible!

brzninja 02-23-2013 12:21 PM

I agree with sometime in March. My BRZ is covered in salt and will be until the end of the salt season :P

Subaruwrxfan 02-24-2013 11:30 PM

I agree, some warm weekend in March sounds good.

Spencer Strayer 02-25-2013 01:34 AM

Im off for spring break the first week of march so thatd be ideal for me! But whatever works with everyone else will work for me, id have no problem coming home for a meet!

Just picked up an FR-S today, I'm in as well.

BRZerk 02-27-2013 09:57 AM

What does everyone think about the weekend of March the 9th. Saturday at 1pm??
Meet at the Stacks in the waterfront then go into a bar / restaurant for lunch & a beer?

Perfect opportunity to meet your fellow 86ers and make some connections!

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but did anyone who drives route 51 notice that there's a white FR-S in the showroom by the 88 intersection where they usually have a bunch of classic vettes and mustangs? That's a bit of a switch
