Keyed.

Was attending a class at night for this semester. Was parked at a local JC for about 2 hours, and when I came out, I was stopped by the police cadets. They asked me if I drove a Scion FR-S, and then they basically laid it on me. Someone rubbed banana all over my driver's side, and then did this to the passenger side.

It goes all the way to the passenger side door handle, and a little past it.

No witnesses. No suspects. Major bummer. Will probably take it in on monday to have it fixed. Car is barely three months old.

There is no thought process involved because mostly idiots do shit like this.

GT 86 Brah 02-12-2013 03:15 PM

...

sbxjap 02-12-2013 03:16 PM

but a banana?

Synack 02-12-2013 03:20 PM

Banana...?

mangostick 02-12-2013 03:22 PM

Looks to me like something an angry X would do.

Or someone thought you were somebody else. Sucks man... but not much you can do now but get it fixed.

eXtreme Burrito! 02-12-2013 03:22 PM

Don't know. They were apparently hungry and decided that keying a car along with that would satiate their hunger?

Not sure. I had to wash that shit off when I got home though. Didn't want it baking in the paint.

tech4pdx 02-12-2013 03:23 PM

I support extreme punishment law reform.. People should try this in a place like Singapore.

luuser75 02-12-2013 03:25 PM

=( can i ask in what city did this happen?

b1pkkf26 02-12-2013 03:25 PM

Dude I totally feel your pain, same shit happen to me and not just once, but three times. Luckily the person did on the same part and not both sides. I'm getting it fix as of righ now, but I'm paranoid that the person would do it again. Side note its not just my car, the person did to two other car I know of in my street.

bdanisi 02-12-2013 03:26 PM

Wasn't at saddle back or ivc was it? Super sorry. Guaranteed it was a broke ass jealous hater piece of shit. Sry man.

zenki_levin 02-12-2013 03:27 PM

If you find the person who did this, as a punishment make them eat 86 bananas while you poke them with a key.

LeeMaster 02-12-2013 03:32 PM

And the curse continues.... we only have 30 thousand made in the USA alone but it seems like 65% of the time something is happening to these cars. The grudge needs to go mess around with other cars and leave us alone.

GT 86 Brah 02-12-2013 03:35 PM

get a motion detection camera then find that person that did it... it be pretty pissed

dun3 02-12-2013 03:37 PM

Super sucks, what pricks man. Seems to be alot of FR-S/BRZ haters out there

Not in the parking lot, apparently. They have one on a building that overlooks the parking lot but i doubt it would be useful in any sort.

This happened at Moorpark College last night.

Already have a police report. Insurance agent assures me that this is a "non-chargeable" claim, meaning they can't state that I was at fault, so my rates shouldn't go up. As far as motion cameras, I don't even know where to start on that. I'm not planning on keeping this car for a long time (will probably sell it if I get in to medical school)...but I take good care of them while I have them.

Needless to say, this is inconvenient. I've owned two scions, one ford, and one toyota. Only the scions have ever been messed with.

Dezoris 02-12-2013 03:53 PM

Sucks, bad.

sol740 02-12-2013 04:05 PM

My 300zx, way back in the day, took a brutal keying in my work parking lot that looked like the person was trying to saw through the metal. People that do this shit are compete lowlife, losers. Unfortunately you can only get it fixed and move on. Good luck, and for what it's worth, I completely know that feel.

whtchocla7e 02-12-2013 04:12 PM

Sad

Ruckus 02-12-2013 04:14 PM

Haters gone hate! Prolly some Mustang owner... ;)

initial 02-12-2013 04:17 PM

That's very unfortunately. It'll come back to them. People reflect their emotions and life, so someone who would take the time to inflict damage and pain are obviously in that state. In reality, they live a shitty life. I would just laugh at the situation really. You've got it good compared to that piece of crap.

microbionic 02-12-2013 04:20 PM

Seek Revenge!!!!!

MissDeb 02-12-2013 04:22 PM

Hopefully the person doesn't come back and key me again.

Razz 02-12-2013 04:31 PM

90% chance someone that knows you did this to your car.

5hairpins 02-12-2013 05:07 PM

Let me tell ya about a bad keying incident...

Several years ago, I started dating a recently divorced woman. I spent a fair amount of time at her house and on three seperate occasions over a couple of weeks, I came out to my Xterra to find scratches on every pannel (doors/hood/hatch/quarter pannels), rear window and exterior mirrors thanks to her 43 year old ex husband. Called it my urban camoflage.

Unfortunately for him, he developed a lawn problem. It seems his grass died in the pattern of a curse word. From what I understand, he even tried calling a lawn service but even that would not get the grass to grow anymore.

No idea who did it. So this isn't an option.

Everything about it is cowardly. Key a car. Leave. Don't stick around to take responsibility for it because you know you'd probably get punked for the money to fix it.

It's just ridiculous that this is happening. I have to park my car in that lot on Mondays and Wednesdays until May. Do I feel safe parking there anymore with assholes like this around? Let me think on that one.

right! burden of proof falls on you! "absence of malice" what can ya prove?
cops assert that even with video,it's difficult to ascertain the "keying"
because it looks like somebody walking along your car,BUT no 'tool"
is seen, so it's absence of malice. tough break, just get it fixed and go forward!

JDMrolla 02-12-2013 07:47 PM

id suspect the police cadets

just a "hateful" sick f**k!

tbwoodlee 02-12-2013 08:02 PM

This happened to me not too long okay, I posted about it here as well. Mine was on the opposite side as yours but it was about as long and as deep. The good news is you cannot even tell it was keyed now after it was repainted. The worst part for me was (after the initial shock and anger of course) driving a cruze for three days.

Reflex 02-12-2013 08:15 PM

I just recently got keyed too, but since my car is still on campus at school I'm not going to bother getting it fixed until I graduate lol.

If you don't mind me asking, how much does fixing something like this cost? My scratch isn't as deep or as long as yours though.

eXtreme Burrito! 02-12-2013 08:18 PM

My estimate was for $1700.

Mostly because it goes from edge of the tail light to about 4 or 5 inches past the passenger side door handle.

beesmiff07 02-12-2013 08:19 PM

What female you done upset?

be careful as the scratches may corrode over time! at the minimum, get them touched up!
