New England 86 Owner's Club Custom Apparel
 

Good day Ladies and Gentlemen!
@ScionKid and myself have come up with what we think is a great apparel idea for the New England owners club!

Custom Jersey's with our first names and VIN # on the back of each (Like Player Names and Numbers.) Possibly our model (BRZ or FR-S) custom embroidered on the sleeve. With the 86 logo and the name of our club on the front.

Without the custom sleeve these would cost about $25 if we got 20 people to sign up and with the Custom Sleeve they would be about $32.

Remember each of these shirts will have YOUR first name and the last digits of your VIN on the back. I.e. my shirt would say

TREVOR
301

on the back.

FYI, this apparel would only be available to owners in New England who have NE plates (i.e. Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine) and you must submit photo proof to ether myself, @ScionKid or @MannyO to prove that you are an FT-86 owner. This may come in the form of a picture of your car with NE Tags showing (not blanked out,) a photo/scan of your vehicle registration (you may blank out any personal information other than address, name and plate number/type, I'll need your address to ship the shirt later anyways) or some other form of proof that you can provide that you are an owner of an 86 in the New England area.

Please put your name on this list if you're interested in this apparel! The more people we get the cheaper it becomes! Every person on the list gets us almost 1.5% off the price! For now this will just be an interested list, you will in no way be obligated to purchase this apparel by putting you name on this list, it is just to get a feel on who wants this apparel. When it gets closer to ordering time I will start PMing people individually asking for confirmation and also your size and VIN number to put on the back! Once we get all the orders in and payment I will order the shirts and then send them out to everyone.

I'll Start the list here and add to it as more people sign up! Remember the more people that sign up the cheaper these will be!

How about us military folk that have out of state plates but live and work here? I do have MA plates now but ill be changing them for TX plates by next month.

Also how about our forum names instead of our first names? Just an idea.

Thats fine, I'm sure we can make an exception for you, I'm not here to keep people who legitimately live in NE from getting shirts, just trying to keep the club kinda exclusive to NE owners since it is the NE Owners Club.

I would be fine with this, it depends on what everyone wants, it's just as easy to do someone's Handle as it is their First Name. This is also a thread for suggestions!

Would everyone rather their Forum handle?

There has been some suggestions of switching the shirt colors from black and white to something else. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Just wondering, why a jersey than a regular t-shirt?

I'd actually prefer a jersey, myself. I have tons of tshirts.

I guess I find it weird to have jersey's > a t-shirt or a long sleeve, because I don't see this group as a sports team. I'm not against the idea, just curious to this choice.

I think it'll be a good idea to make a poll on the different ideas/suggestions and let us decide.

I was planning on making that the custom Embroidery on each Sleeve if possible. BRZ people would have BRZ on their sleeve and vise versa. The custom embroidery costs about $7 more per shirt though.

We could do a t-shirt, I really liked the Jersey idea as we are an official club/team and I think it would be cool to have like a team jersey to wear at events that we could wear over our regular clothes, plus the Custom Name and VIN# on the back makes it feel more like a team jersey rather than a regular t-shirt. Also I don't think they do custom names and numbers on regular t-shirts. Again I am more than up for suggestions, if anyone wants to take a stab at designing a shirt on CustomInk

We could do that, this thread is definitely for suggestions so if you have a design you would like to put up for review please do so! There are hundreds of options on customink.com, design your own and post it up!

I really like your design I just meant tshirts vs jersey's, real names vs usernames, colors and so on. Thanks for starting this thread along side scionkid! This club is heading in the right direction!

Reminder: the 86 logo is supposedly has copyrights from Toyota. So not too sure how they'll feel if you guys go on using their emblem without permission. Just saying.

Chance of them caring about 0% we all buy their products if anything they should thank us @M-17 as for @PRORICAN we do it for you guys haha me and @MannyO have some good stuff planned for the near future ;D we'll see what comes of this

^^^ Yeah I don't think they care about us using that logo. Plenty of people selling aftermarket products with that logo and I doubt they asked for permission.

I'm just letting it be known is all.

And besides, maybe a new design for our region could be drafted in case its not allowed to use the 86 emblem or worse someone gets sued over it.

And if we're looking to set ourselves apart from other regions. Why not go over as a group what color(s), design(s), font(s), word(s), number(s), emblem(s), etc. to use? :iono:

I'm down with whatever... something better than a T would be good.

Start off slow just something we can put on our backs to show some pride that we drive one of the best cars ever made and its extremely difficult to get eeeeeveryone from the NE forums to get together and decide what we want... I think our best bet is this jersey :3 were open to ideas fully but this is just to put us on the map... hey we're frs and brz owners and we're from New England!! Haha ^_^ and besides these jerseys are very reasonably priced huge plus :D

@jmaryt we don't want to do a t shirt which is why we suggested a jersey they're lightweight for those hot summer days. :3 which judging by the winter (minus the next few days) we're going to have a scorching summer aka plenty of 86 meets :D

I'm just thinking of the long run in my state of mind. So that's why I'm addressing those options. And I don't believe that it would be that difficult to gather those who want to add their input on these type of ideas.

I've been asking for input...no one has really be inputting other than you, and I wouldn't really call what you are saying input as much as it is criticism of our idea and how much you hate it. What IS your input, what do you suggest...do you have any idea's? customink.com is easy and free to whip up idea's on...why don't you post some idea's of your own instead of just shitting on ours. I've already said I'm willing to put idea's up to a vote, but we need MORE idea's, so start your own idea thread, do what you want, make some stuff up and post it. Stop talking and start DOING, that's what we did...and we are open to input from others, but so far the majority likes our idea's and at the moment it doesn't even seem like there is enough interest to make this worthwhile. We need 20 people, so far we have 7, SO SPEAK UP PEOPLE!

And I have been looking into it. I've been checking other companies that could possibly reduce cost and asked a friend who did a volunteering group project (which they made jersey's for) a while back for his help. I like the jersey bc like everyone else i have a bunch of tshirts and regardless of the temp you can put longs under it or over a shirt. I like the design and the vin idea. What if brz on on sleeve and frs on the other with the 86 in the middle and it is the original car.

Is black the color everyone wants? @Sony Maybe that same design on a white jersey so it won't be so hot in the summer. I would try and do it but all I have is my iPhone right now and its hard to mess with customink with it.

I'm in for one either way.

Pro if youre like me a white shirt would not stay white for long and if we do meet and dines we will more than likely get food on our shirts... jerseys dont do well with bleach black wont stain unless you bleach it literally ill put a picture up of my design its the same as sonys but with the colors changed up i just have to pull it off my phone :)
