Full Blown Stage 1 Short Block
We've been building quite a few short block for the FA20 Engine. Our blocks uses nothing but the best parts to ensure that it will endure the abuse. We keep a couple of cores and plenty of pistons and rods in stock to minimize the wait times.
This is the same block found in our 700HP Shop Car. Although this is a fairly new platform, We have learned how to keep these engines together with the right parts and clearances. Yep. Should be able to run quite a bit more boost with 93 octane and those pistons.

Glad to hear that your stock block is still holding up. You guys were pushing it pretty hard and I was getting curious about it. Do you have any thoughts on the biggest weak point of the stock short block yet or where the most likely failure area may be under boost? Scott |
Has most of the abuse on the stock block at the higher power levels been under load?

I wonder if you guys can build me a block and all the trimmings to run up to 1,000HP and safely drive it every day :)

I'd be interested in this in a couple years. TBH, I'ms till trying to learn how to effectively drive this thing at lower power levels. I've never owned a car this slow that's this much fun (I've owned plenty of other cars between 400-600 rwhp and tq)

I cant wait for the day I can run 20-25 psi in my FRS. My Tc on 15psi is a beast I can't even imagine what a FA20 can do.

Supercharger would be rough with alot of power.. just because the car is so light and going from 1-3 or even 4th gear the tires will be slipping all the time.. turbo would be a better option boosting up with a built motor due to turbo kicking in at a later time.

You can apply boost per gear as well. Don't give her full boost till 3rd or so.

We are working on a fuel system. That is the main reason why we stopped. We maxed everything out.

No, this will keep the DI. When we first discussed the design of the piston for the FA20 motor with arias, they felt that there wasn't a need for the quench area because they have tested similar designs on a porsche DI system without any issues or benefits.
Once we find some time to tear into our shop car again, we will have results shortly. |
Same bore x stroke? Sorry if I missed that somewhere. Personally, I'd love to see an overbore of this engine. I don't know what the OEM cylinder wall thresholds are.
