Nice.. Hope they do something with the side.. I love the front of it, next to the Titan I think it's a great front end on a truck.. But I hated the side of it.. Especially a long bed 4 door

Teaser of the New 2014 Toyota Tundra Truck or Something Else? Quote:
Looks similar to the current generation with the shape of the headlights and that hood scoop. |

I like it from the video. I've never ever had a reason to get a Tundra but I do like them. I'd like to see some opinions from previous Tundra owners.
|
I own a 2007 Tundra. The angular panels on the new one looks more like one of those big Ford special edition trucks. Still has the Tundra feel, mostly. Not sure what I think of the space between the gauges for the LCD display.
|
Yet another too-big, too-high, too-heavy big dumb truck.
Why in the fook reasonable size and ride height trucks are somehow not acceptable today is beyond me... |
I like the F-series, but I'd like to tryout this Tundra when its available.
I kinda remember the first time I ever saw one I was like holy crap, that came from Toyota? |
The best all-around truck has got to be the Tundra TRD Rock Warrior. I'm excited to see the new features Toyota brings to their 2014 trucks in order to compete with the 2014 F-150's and Silverados.
Oh, and Toyota needs to make a diesel Tundra! http://image.internetautoguide.com/f...sel-dually.jpg |

Iknow they have a 4.5L or something V8 Diesel that's somewhat newish and used in the Land Cruiser and 4runner variants overseas but its a weakling compared to the available Diesels from the US Big 3. |
I've heard of a nice 6.0L Turbo Diesel Toyota makes.. but no idea if thats true or where I heard it.
I need to call Alfred.. |

Given that 90% of these will never turn a tire off-road, it's perfectly ridiculous for full-size trucks these days to be so fricking HIGH. Particularly when the diff is still just 8" off the ground. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_G3DjZetEqK...-trucks-24.jpgSmall pic, but note size/height of full-sized truck vs. human. What is so much *better* about having a hoodline that's at your shoulders, and a bed that's higher than your waist? Need to tow something big/heavy? OK, you need a relatively massive truck to do it with. But again, what's the benefit of the ridiculous height? |

Yes, I could get out with a shovel and pile dirt on one side to lift my diff over the rock (and carry a repair kit in case I didn't), or I could buy a truck with more clearance. But seriously, this is an argument over preference. There is no winning argument. |

Just expressing my frustration over these road-hogging view-blocking gas-guzzling monstrosities that are oversized far beyond the point of any additional real-world utility. |
Looks nice! My buddy has the current gen Tundra and we took a road trip up to the Bay Area in that thing.
It's a nice and super comfy full size truck but it would complete overkill to own one. My Tacoma is more than enough truck for me. |
God trucks are ridiculous these days. Where is my 80s Toyota "Truck"? Ford Ranger? You know, something where I don't need a front loader to put crap in the back? Something I don't mind using for doing dump runs, home depot runs and helping people move (see front loader comment)? I don't need to haul a space shuttle while sitting in my leather captains chair. Why isn't there a small truck with a small 4 banger diesel?

They should update the Tacoma also. Extremely outdated design that needs a change. I would like to see a normal size truck get some attention from the market.

Hey, I was being lazy one day and just watching TV. Then this guy appears and tells me to go ask any Toyota Tacoma owner this question. Does it (Tacoma) have any limits? :bonk: Apparently it doesn't have any.:bellyroll: |

Damn this brings back memories and looks very similar to my old truck! http://forum.ih8mud.com/attachment.p...1&d=1323483945 http://forum.ih8mud.com/attachment.p...1&d=1323484756 Quote:

Also on the double cab short bed, the back wheel of a moto would sit on the tailgate. Mine has bowed in the middle and I'm sure one of these days, it'll give out and it won't be pretty. Here is an example since I have the same exact truck but no KTM. http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/4868/tacoma004zw6.jpg |

http://www.imcdb.org/images/003/742.jpg i agree we do need the smaller trucks to come back. honestly i figure a scion would be perfect for this role. a cheap compact truck that could be used for basic needs. Scion xE?, scion xT? Scion SC-T(sport compact truck) it could work. |
did some research and apparently Jack Hollis, CEO of scion HAS deep interest in a compct pick-up
Some speculate it will be the Toyota ABAT that appear some years ago http://blogs.cars.com/.a/6a00d83451b...538d970d-800wi while others think it will be all new someone's render http://image.trucktrend.com/f/concep...up-concept.jpg the latter looking more like an Aussie Ute than a compact truck. |

I'd like to see Scion offer a small truck. Considering the compact trucks nowadays are practically the full size trucks of the early 90s. theres definitely room for something smaller since everything has gotten enourmous over the years. They just need to fix the xB (less 'corolla wagon/van thing, more first gen xB) and ditch the xD (since its pretty much the same thing as a Yaris but with a Corolla motor) and they'll have lineup space. |
That Tundra still uses the same chassis, I don't consider it all new. All new will arrive in a few years.
|
Tundra's serve their purpose. They spank that american ass and tow more in a buy off the lot no waiting or customizing for a bigger motor stock truck. But it would be nice if they outfitted a diesel motor and great tranny to compete with the other diesels.

2014 Tundra Just Came In!
We got our first 2014 Tundra in today. It is a Crew Max SR5 package. I made a quick video of it pointing out some of the differences that I noticed between the previous generation and the new one. Overall it's, not really much of a total redesign like from 2006 to the 2007 models, but they did change a good bit of things that you may not notice right away like how the hood opens, rear seat no longer slides, no more dual temp controls unless you get the Limited/Platinums and some other stuff.
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UXIeD3aiPE"]2014 Toyota Tundra Walkaround and Changes - YouTube[/ame] I didn't get a chance to drive it other than around the lot. It didn't really feel that much different than the current models. When I get more time, I want to take it out back to back with a 2013 to see if there are any changes that I can tell. I read some articles that said there were some suspension changes so I'll have to see what I notice. Ruskymx |
The interior is a shitton better than the old one. But it looks like it was lifted out of a Ford lol.
|
Trucks are getting bigger and bigger...

Wow... the dash looks like shit... I've always hated the F150 dash and it looks exactly like that...
|
I just want them to reincarnate the XRunner...
|
Excuse, but I ordered a Tundra not a tank.
Damn that truck keeps bigger. |
Frame, wheelbase etc is all the same, but the sheet metal and design makes it seem bigger than the previous model. I was hoping Toyota would incorporate the brake controller into the lower dash like Ford does. I think that is a very nice touch. There isn't a good spot to mount one in a Tundra that doesn't bother the driver in one way or another.
