Just got done on the dyno! These results are on a DynoJet In Ground Dyno with STD Correction Factor.

An almost 80 ft lb jump over stock and you hate that number? This is just 8 lbs. of boost. I think that number is complete insanity and I mean that in the best way possible!

This displacement engine isnt going to give you tq close to hp when you are dealing with numbers this high. At 230hp you might be able to squeeze out 200tq but the higher hp you go the less tq youll make in relation. At 521rwhp they only made 400tq. If you need 450hp and 450tq you might wanna buy the new vette.

It doesn't have much to do with the displacement. The VW GTI 2.0 liter turbo 4 makes 200hp and 207 lb-ft of torque from the factory. That motor can produce monster torque levels because of its lower compression and ability to run a lot more boost than we can. |

Torque generated in the lower rpms whilst plummeting in the higher rpms (or if the engine doesn't rev high) will produce high torque numbers relative to hp numbers. Look at this: 400 HP vs TQ in the two hundreds. I like the lower torque numbers myself. It means the car will feel more progressive, won't require a crazy clutch, and is generally easier on the drivetrain. Big torque just breaks things. |

Not much actually I was messing with my dyno run data and the difference is on mine which posted 254.9HP and 207.6tq on SAE read 260.9HP and 211.tq on STD.

SAE and STD are 2 different ways of correcting a dyno reading based on ambient conditions. When you dyno a car you can choose Uncorrected, SAE, and STD. You also can choose a smoothing factor to make the graph a smoother curve. Uncorrected is going to read highest. I've read a lot of arguments about SAE vs STD numbers over the years, there is a thread about this in practically every enthusiast forum in existence. The 2 Correction settings have different assumed ambient conditions along with some high end math equations that give your car a hp/tq reading. The differences are a few percent at most in most situations. The dyno we used does not belong to Pure Automotive Performance, we rent from a friend at a neighboring shop. It is a dyno jet, which if you read on dyno jet's website, can not be manipulated to change numbers like a Mustang or Dyno Dynamics can be. Dyno jet guarunteesthat your numbers with the same correction factor and smoothing should be within .5 hp from dyno jet to dyno jet in identical conditions. I did not even pay attention to whether or not we were using SAE or STD. Why? Because a dyno is a tuning tool to see how a car is performing in order to make sure it is set up safely and runs properly. Dyno numbers were not our focus. Did we have hopes and expectations? Of course. Did we break any records? Not that I know of. Did we make our goal of 300hp. Yessir!

Is this the tune that ships with the car or did a tuner play around with it? In your opinion is this tuned on the bleeding edge? Or will this tune run on 91 octane safely.

We will provide any basemap we have free of charge. This is a basemap that we provided. We always recommend to get on a Dyno and verify everything.

I took a few people for a ride at a local meet this morning- this includes @OrbitalEllipses and @RedAlert. I wish I could have Orbital post his reactions, and I believe RedAlert will be the next guy in MD to have the Full Blown kit (now that he's experienced it firsthand).
Did some 75-125mph bursts and it takes no time and effort to accelerate at those speeds.. It's an animal. I am a 100% satisfied customer and highly recommend both Full Blown and @Pure Automotive as vendors. In addition, I highly recommend Pure Automotive (Brady) to do your install. He now is acquainted with the install process of this kit (which wasn't exactly a honeymoon experience) and he's especially thorough (he has done ~50 turbo kit installs). |
