Wow, this setup is awesome!
How close is the strut perch in the front w/ the +42/ 245?

Any suspension work?

BoostinIX 01-30-2013 06:10 PM

Sure @Mach V Dan will love these shots! :P Looks great!

255's fit no problem on these even in the front so 245's are no problem at all. :happyanim:

RCE yellows. -1.5 camber all around.

Mr.Jay 01-30-2013 06:16 PM

I think it might depend on the tire itself tho some are a lot fatter than others even at the same specs. RS3s I'm guessing for you, these seem to fit prefectly. In other threads someone had Star Specs and said they had a bit of rub on their 17x9s.

Looks good tho!

GTB/ZR-1 01-30-2013 06:21 PM

Nice look!

industrial 01-30-2013 07:36 PM

Looks really nice. I'm thinking about getting that exact setup for my race wheels.

just86 01-30-2013 07:56 PM

is that 1" drop?
btw you should get rally armor mud flaps

Captain Insano 01-30-2013 11:18 PM

Looks mean. Nice!

just86 01-30-2013 11:40 PM

That offset looks just like +35

jeebus 01-31-2013 11:37 AM

I'm going to run the same wheel/tire combo, unless I get Dunlops ZII instead.

uspspro 01-31-2013 10:41 PM

Getting the same exact wheels and same tire size... Eventually.

Familiar looking background too. Peninsula area?

17x9 Mach V Awesome gunmetal on Asphalt FRS

Hey guys!

Finally got my wheels and tires put on since its actually starting to be spring here in MN. They turned out perfect! It's exactly the look I was going for. These are the 17x9 Mach V Aweomes in gunmetal. The color is pretty dang close to the Asphalt color. The car is lowered on a set of Hotchkis springs, about a 1" drop. Sorry, no awesome photographer here, just a point and shoot with an old camera. I will get some pro ones done this summer when its nice out.

Cheers

miodculae 03-28-2013 06:59 PM

beautiful. how much does the 17x9 weigh ? what size tire ?

forzajuve 03-28-2013 07:00 PM

It is not that bad. I like it a lot man! What tires did you go with? Also, because you used Hotchkis springs to lower the car 1 inch, does that compromise the integrity of the suspension and/or shocks? How hard can you still drive it with a spring lowering kit as oppose to a new set of coilovers? Hopefully my question makes sense (sorry there are so many!), I am still learning more about all this stuff. Also why 17x9 vs. 17x7.5 or 8 or 8.5?

The rims weigh 17.8 lbs, tire size is 245/4/17.

Thanks buddy :) I absolutely love the springs. You can't even notice a difference in ride quality vs stock. The wife even confirmed that she couldn't even tell a difference from the passenger seat.

Pete 03-28-2013 10:07 PM

Looks great man, I am going to jack your style! Seriously those are close to the exact style and color I want.

Clipdat 03-28-2013 10:36 PM

Wow those look great! Also nice looking exhaust!

Wonder how these would look on my whiteout. Been looking for a nice 5 spoke design.

Please do! I hope this will help people make decisions on what they like and don't like. I was hoping they would look this good on my suspension set up, with the color of the car, and it pulled it off nicely :)

Oh, I forgot to answer your other question. To be 100% honest, I went with 17x9 simply because of the wheel itself. I really fell in love with these wheels and was pretty dead set on getting them. Found out they were 17x9's, did some research, liked what I read and went with them. I do like how these particular wheels sit flush with the fenders. Now I can see where all of this "stance" controversy comes from. I'm not a serious auto/x, track car god like most people on here. Just like to have fun driving to work, and cruising on the weekends, and having a car that I can stop looking at when im walking away from it.

looks alot like the 5zigen fno1rc

aeon 03-29-2013 02:57 AM

offset on those ?
if those are 42 offset in the rear i can safely buy 18x9 offset 35 since it looks like they are inside the rear by a few mm's

atleast if there is no camber added on your car

looks alot like the 5zigen fno1rc

they are reps of the 5zigen however
a) the fno1rc's were discontinued
b) 5zigen never offered them with this bolt patter/width/offset combo

that should fit fine.

Love these wheels! Perform fantastic at the track. Couldn't ask for more. Actually it may be too much grip if anything as it is actually hard to get the rear end to step out with stock power...

Timmy_Jones 04-02-2013 07:54 PM

Looks awesome, nice clean 5 spoke design! Any center caps? May help the flow of the wheels.

kenfr-s 05-23-2013 09:38 PM

I like it. Did you take your car to somewhere specific to get the springs/wheels installed? I just got mine and I'm wondering on install costs for types of mods I want to do.

Thanks,

abutterman 05-23-2013 09:44 PM

Very nice. I'm on the same Hotchkis springs. Got the springs done at at a shop by me and got a set of 17x8's off tirerack. The hotchkis springs sure are nice :) just enough drop to get it to an acceptable amount of gap and it feels the same, if not better than stock.

SurfAndSand 09-19-2013 04:16 PM

Can we get clarification on wheel weight? Post says one weight while wheel directory says another.

17.8 pounds is correct.

SurfAndSand 09-19-2013 07:02 PM

I think I'm over-thinking the weight thing. :(

17.8 isn't bad, but when I know the RPF1s in the same price range, size, and similar fit, and is available for 2lbs less, I start tripping out.

Can I get a price quote for a 17" set sent out to Kaneohe 96744? Are all finishes the same price and in stock? I'm comparing to a set of Phatfux Ballzy wheels for me right now.

Sent you a PM, but for the rest of the forum-reading public, yes, the different finishes are all the same price, and as I write this they are all in stock.
