New shoes!

What do you guys think? I'm not as wild about the colors as I thought I would be so I'll probably get a pair in black with a red/silver logo.

Am I the only one who expected to see a wheel and tire combo?

The shoes are nice though.

The 86 branding has gotten out of hand.

WillBRZ 01-30-2013 02:27 AM

Ultra gay. I hate people that think they need to wear clothes to match thr car.

86BRZ 01-30-2013 03:05 AM

It looks like a Converse OEM? Incidentally, I found my converse (non boot) shoes feel very good.

idreamofdrifting 01-30-2013 03:12 AM

i like it +1

I agree its ridiculous when a $500 bike costs $6000 because it has a Mercedes logo on it. But I see this as no different than wearing a baseball hat with your favorite team on it. Sports teams are brands too, and you show support for brands you enjoy. Not like I'm running around screaming "I OWN AN 86!!!", haha. These aren't my everyday shoes and I like to wear them on weekend drives or to meets.

I used to have a pair of driving shoes, but they do scream "I LOVE TO DRIVE BECAUSE LOOK AT MY SHOES!". I like the all stars because the hard flat sole makes it easy to feel the pedals, but when I'm just walking around, they don't attract attention. Plus, if they cost the same as regular shoes, add a subtle bit of support for a brand I enjoy, and are unique then why not? (I am starting to dislike the red though...:mad0259:)

Ok, I'll bite (having customized Chuck's from waaaay back in '84). Sold where and for how much?

My preferred driving shoes are a pair of retro HiTecs that were $25, or old Skool vans...

I'm not a fan of the shoes either.... But all this stuff about "hipsters" and skinny jeans and blah blah blah is getting really old.. if someone wants to wear skinny jeans, let them. everyone has their own style/taste.

Grateful Dave 01-30-2013 04:57 PM

I didn't know Chuck Taylor owned a GT86/FRs/BRZ :iono:

bakerr6 01-30-2013 05:27 PM

I wear skinny jeans but I would not touch these shoes. The jeans work well in certain situations

boredom.is.me 01-30-2013 05:28 PM

I hate skinny jeans.
