Stupid Question on Controls
 

Why dint Toyota keep the indicator/wiper controls on the normal "correct :)" side.

Here i thought driving 2 Toyos and i never have to think twice :-(

I agree with u 100 %.
It's a Japanese car demmit.
Indicators must go on the RIGHT.
It's so frustrating. to have to think before indicating.

Amen! This is not supposed to be a European car!!! It has a Hilux radio, why didn't they just use the Hilux switches aswell!!!

Urgh, that radio...
If they weren't gonna put in a GPS, why didn't they just fit a normal size deck. now you can't put in a normal aftermarket deck. :(

Glad I'm not the only one.:happyanim: jumping between the Fortuner and 86, I yell everytime I hit the wrong lever and my windscreen gets messed up.....:mad0260:

Ya especially when you want to flash some idiot driver on the road and end up washing your windscreen instead :mad0259:

And don't you just hate those clowns that drive in front of you and deliberately use there wiper sprayer that does hit hit there car but yours 50m back....and continue for 1km.....:paddle:

I HATE that. Cant they just adjust their sqirty thingy to the centre of the d@mn window.

Yep, controls work for me, Amarok and 86 are the same.

BUT, after driving my wife's Pajero everything goes to pot for a couple of days afterwards.

Screw that, they're on the correct side. :D It's about time they started doing that - same with Honda, they used to be on the right side but now also on the left.

Oddly enough this only becomes a problem for me when I drive my girlfriend's I20? Obviously my Mini's are imprinted into my mind! :bonk:

This is the firsts thing I noticed!
Indicators must be on the right, especially in a Toyota and any RHD car :-)

Anyone tried to swap the wiper and indicator controls? Is it possible?

They'd be upside down if you did that.

My Honda Civic is built in the UK so no adjustment required for me... Yay!

Strange - the indicators ARE on the right for us here in NZ with our RHD cars. You'd think all the RHD cars would be the same.

The only gripe I have is the lack of lane-change indicators.

Yeah I was really missing that in the beginning. Haven't given it any thought since.

And I agree, I would also have thought that all RHD cars would be the same, especially SA/NZ/OZ (because we all drive upside-down :D)

It's awkward for me because our other vehicles (Subaru Forester and Subaru Impreza) both have indicators on the right.
So it appears to be neither a Toyota nor a Scooby "thing"...

Guess that SA 86 drivers will soon learn that a windscreen wash from another 86 actually means "howzit mate" :happyanim:

Haha speaking of that, I've found that the headlight washers are great for getting rid of window washers on the street. Got 2 of them at the same time once. :D

Same problem here...annoying...I now get it wrong in both cars...

Aren't they basically the same as Hilux controls? Wonder what the wiring looks like inside...

I haven't even found the controls for my headlamp washers. Don't think I'll ever need to.

Also, if you're being tailgated and not doing the tailgating, you're doing something wrong. :bonk:

I'd be too scared to piss them off... I've got more to lose.

They're usually big mouthed until you get out of the car. Then you'll see them scatter very quickly.

I was on Malibongwe waiting to turn onto the highway once. BIG oke in a 4x4, window washer kept harassing him. Big oke got out and fcked him up proper while everybody was cheering. :D

May seem a bit extreme but the oke really was asking for it.
