Naviextras toolbox
This is the program Subaru lists to update the Nav. system
Has anyone had any luck using this program to read their SD card? I tried it on mine to see if there were any additional features, and it would not recognize my card. |

I hear it maybe have something to do with 64 bit versions of windows. Try a 32 bit version of windows to see if it will read the card. |
I got a question to y'all BRZ folks. I can not get any of my computers (all windows 8 64bit and one xp 64 bit) to read the sdhc card so I can check for updates in the navtoolbox.
Is it because it only supports reading external card readers in 32 bit os's? I thought I kicked 32 bit OS's to the curve a long time ago. I bought a new card reader thinking it was my built in reader. But the app won't detect it. Any of y'all folks had this problem? |
I just tried 32-bit Win 7 and 32 bit XP, windows saw the card in both but naviextras didn't see it in either one.
|
I am in the same boat. I want to know if anybody has got it to work.
|
Did you ever get it working? There was an update to the Navextras toolbox to version 3.14 but it still won't read the SD card.
|
I tried with the update on 3 different systems, still no go.

My Win 8 64 bit sees the card but Naviextras doesn't. I've made a few calls and they say not supported at this time.
|
What did they say wasn't supported Sparks, our nav or win 8?

The update in the tool box is Q3 2012, which is what I have in my BRZ.
You can add KML information for POI and backup your card. At least it's reading the cards now :) |
Finally, something actually works. Lol. I'll try it after work.

Just checked, my maps are Q3 2011. Can buy Q3 2012 it says. There's no way in hell I'm paying $150 for maps from 2012 that should have came with my nav.

try fomatting the sd card using different file systems, FAT32, NTFS, exFAT. or the really old plain FAT file system. sometimes the manufacturer limits to only one file system. GL!

Ok I just saw this new update. Will try again when I get home.
Hopefully this works. How does the dealership update these if we can get the software to read the card? |
It worked! I was able to get it to see my SD Card and I was able to back it up! I found no updates, but my Maps are old......2011....and I saw Q3 2012 as the latest map. Is there anyway to get this map for free since I only had my car a few months?
|
I got my car in February, so I called my dealer to find out. Salesman told me to call SOA. It was a big waste of time. They told me even though I just got my car, my car was produced in September of last year. At that time the 2011 maps were the latest and I would have to purchase the 2012 if I wanted them. I will keep my eyes out for another way to update.
