0-60 times from video (auto) ?

so we all know of this video

[u2b]eP3SR1m_aRY[/u2b]

and we know 60mph is the very top end of 2nd gear??(right?)

[u2b]EKrh7wfwSvA[/u2b]

anyone wanna get a stopwatch out and time 1st - 2nd gears?

i get 5.9 seconds from the 1st-3rd gear run at the 0:45 mark and its kind of a roll out and not stomping on it from a dead stop im not using youtube ticker time either im actually using a real stopwatch

KaliKev 12-07-2011 02:24 AM

NOT a slow car what so ever....

(Coming from a guy who drives a 4500lb SUV haha)

carbonBLUE 12-07-2011 02:27 AM

im getting 6.4 from when the car starts moving but he doesn't actually stomp on it at first either, so 5.9 is my guess for the auto (which isnt bad)

KaliKev 12-07-2011 02:28 AM

I keep getting 6.2 on the first acceleration at 5 seconds and 5.9 at 45 second mark.

carbonBLUE 12-07-2011 02:29 AM

i wanna see a video where someone drops the clutch and does a 0-100mph run

CSSM 12-07-2011 03:07 AM

I got 6.1 for the first two gears at the beginning and 5.9 for the first two gears at :45

Pretty dang good considering the V6 Camaro gets 6.0 with 312hp and 6 cylinders

The driver is neither launching nor running the car to redline in either run. You guys may be measuring 0-45 for all you know.

This. Let's just wait until we get the official numbers from Subaru or a car magazine.

I'm betting 5.8-6.0 sec. It is very good. BMW 135i does 5,3 sec with 6 cylinder, turbo and 306 PS.

GTI is what, low to mid 6's? This must be faster than that, partly because it weighs less.

old greg 12-07-2011 06:15 PM

Yes.

so it looks like the guy sitting in the front passenger seat uploaded his version of the video. you can clearly hear the upshift warning beep.

ohh its fine, but im wondering why the auto didnt beep and the manny did... maybe when in D mode it doesnt beep and in sport M mode it does, who knows? but the auto does seem to rev all the way to the line, indicated by how loud and the pitch, my 2zz makes similar noises above 7k, its not a notmal pitch for most cars cause most dont go that high

whitejdm 12-10-2011 12:20 AM

oh GOD not the warning beep!!!! Shift lights are great, but honestly don't they realize how often people will be keeping the revs up and down around that area with the beep going on and off a-la RX8? Hope you auto-X boys have ear plugs....
