Best FR-S/86/BRZ driving videos on the internet

I've noticed not many driving vids have been linked. I've found some that are quite nice. So here's to people who never seen them. Enjoy.

Like this 2 month old WOT, 10minute, Fuji track session, but never posted on here I don't think.. This vid alone should sell cars over any other video seen to this date.

posted before in one of the threads after we got off topic i do believe i actually remember cause i did a repost of it

I like how there are soo many more videos now but I am surprised at how long it took us to find

after seeing all the videos yea these are all old as I have seen them before and get all my info from ft86club

PAImportTuner 12-07-2011 12:01 AM

I posted these because all I see are press release videos that show nothing but specs and looks with cheesy music. These videos do not have music that is unless you consider engine noise music. Showing the engine sounds externally and internally is far more important than what the car looks like under 100 lights

MF_DEUCE 12-07-2011 12:33 AM

In the second and third video, those tracks are narrow or it could just be me. lol

But is the second video being shot by someone in the rear seat?

PAImportTuner 12-07-2011 01:15 AM

Looks like someone is recording in the back seat. Funny how it moves and handles alright with 3 passengers(at least 450lbs added). lol

WingsofWar 12-07-2011 02:01 AM

Mari0 12-07-2011 02:24 PM

MOOAAAARRRR!

Phontsolo 12-07-2011 02:30 PM

Anyone notice the acceleration from a standing start on the 2nd video? "Automatic Trans test ride."

I don't know what the final 0-60 time will be but that seems to be a pretty fast start to me. Fast enough for me anyways.

And that handling seems to be on point.

Zgrinch 12-07-2011 02:48 PM

I also noticed that if you watch the video with the driver wearing glasses and black jacket, while he is fairly short, when they show him from the side driving the car, there seems to be an ok amount of leg room for the rear seat passenger.
Still hopeful that my kids can squeeze back there.

Z_Rocks 12-07-2011 02:50 PM

A year from now, all tracks will be filled with these two cars. The car needs wider tires though. Looks like a fun car to toss around and still maintain control.

LivingLegend 12-07-2011 05:03 PM

Thanks for the vids! I love the last video but at 0:59 it shows the 86 drifting in snow...anyone got vids of that??!?!

M-17 12-07-2011 05:52 PM

Haven't seen any of these videos before so thanks for posting them.

sirus 12-07-2011 06:00 PM

Damn this car sounds so tight! And that is all stock! Wow! We gonna have some serious fun with this car!

I am gonna say it is the best sounding 4 cylinder car out there!

That video is shot at the toyota museum, its in a giant shopping arcade on a man-made island just out of tokyo. Didn't pick it at first but when I saw that Rally spec celica I realised it. Just behind that celica in the museum you can see toyota mechanics up to their elbows in the guts of some of toyota's finest machinery... tis a magic place. The road is so narrow because I believe that's the track they normally run a "car of tomorrow" on. Little ride along thing... might be confusing that with honda's museum though... but yer, definately not a race track. Would be absolute torture for the people in for the ride, nowhere near enough room to really stretch the cars legs.

I'm guessing I'm not the only person waiting for some aftermarket pipes to be fitted to a GT-86... it sounds like the engine's got promise, but its too muffled to hear it properly.

btw, I know there's a gunmetal grey one running around with the TRD body kit on, does anyone have video of it? I'm hoping its gonna be running the TRD quad exhaust, but I've only seen pics of the front so far. Four tips for a four pot is a bit naff... but man that car looks good in that spec... I know what options I'm gonna be ticking... means I'll be right down the end of the waiting list when its released tho :(

trueno86power 12-08-2011 10:27 PM

Did you notice that everyone goes out of the 86 with a big smile? haha :w00t:

Pretty sloppy driving in that last vid -those full-throttle upshifts are a really bad practice and terrible for the car.

I don't know if someone play this video. this video is interesting because he is driving the automatic FT86.

DommerEOD 12-26-2011 03:40 AM

Kind of impressed by that automatic.. The reviews make it sound slower than it appears to be.

yeah, i think motor journalists are spoiled because they are comparing this AT to ferrari, porsche, and other supercar DCTs. it looks PLENTY quick in both upshifts and downshifts. the only problem i see, that was mentioned in multiple reviews, is that the tranny will NOT allow downshifts that would result in redline (or close) in the next lower gear. if you look at the vid, it looks like the driver tries to downshift a few times at 5000 rpm. the AT wouldnt let him and he had to wait until about 4000 rpm before it allowed a downshift. kind of a bummer, but totally understandable.

I don't know if you guys see this one..

Sasquachulator 01-22-2012 05:34 AM

Dunno if this was here, its seems like a longer version of one of the previous videos (Toyota 86 The Movie).

It shows the test driver guy standing next to the Chief engineer and he's a friggin midget. He's only up toTetsuya's shoulders! Makes him look damn tiny in the car.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff3E7AF6KYQ

Various portions of the vid you can see the rear seating space with him in it, but its still hard to tell how much space there really is (it doesnt look like much). He even tries the automatic (you can hear the downshifts) and theres even specs with numbers at the end (need japanese translations!)
