Billet Oil Catch Can #BC-175 by Billet Custom

Has anybody seen or tried this? It sounds like a really good deal for us N/A guys.
I'm thinking about buying it, but want some feedback from someone that may have used it. I've searched and couldn't find anyone talking about it.

nice

King Tut 01-24-2013 02:51 PM

First time I have seen that one. Seems like a great bargain at that price. I would have considered it if it had an option for venting to atmosphere.

Yeah, I'm wondering why Chris @ Phastek hasn't been posting this on the forum.

Wish it had a drain option. It would be perfect.

DriftEightSix 01-25-2013 08:52 AM

Pictures of it mounted?

looks similar to the can I had from UPR on my mustang. Looks like a decent product IMO

PhastekSport 01-30-2013 06:30 PM

We'll put more media up on the product soon. Probably after the vendor status gets put back. We have someone out of the office unfortunately and what a time for them to be away.

It does have a drain option in addition to the bottom unscrewing.

Dezoris 01-30-2013 06:41 PM

Internal shots? Is it baffled or use condensers?
Looks like a nice piece for the price.

PhastekSport 01-30-2013 06:46 PM

Condensers... I guess you can't see the media in the video. All the ones we had by me in Houston were sold to local customers, but I should have 5 more soon. At that point I can take some shots on the FR-S, etc.

Any plans on dual catch can? PCV and breather?

Tim_Asphalt_FRS 03-28-2013 02:13 PM

I just ordered this, the directions that come with it are for a Camaro. I'm not sure where I'm going to mount it yet. I may have to go buy new hoses if the ones that came with it are too short. I'll take pics tomorrow if I get it put in how I want it.

We have a check valve so it modifies our setup a bit.

So, I just got the catch can installed. I did mount it to the bracket where there used to be some kind of wire clip for the sound tube. The supplied hoses are good length, but too small to fit over the factory intake manifold connection. So what I had to do was cut the factory hose and use and adapter to connect the factory hose and the kit supplied hose. It looks good. No CELs. Car started right up.

Tim_Asphalt_FRS 03-29-2013 04:28 PM

Sorry for the big pictures.

PhastekSport 03-29-2013 04:35 PM

They are big! Glad you got it installed. If you ever need help on an order you know how to reach me.

Mine is working. We just took out 3 Vortech units this morning, and I checked it..

As I think Tim noted in this thread, you might need different fittings / hoses.

The included parts did work perfectly with the Whipple kit.

That's the super easy way, I used 2 hose clamps of different sizes to attach it to the stock brace near the battery. It took me 20 minutes.

Price looks good and it has a "screen" in it. I would still invest a few bucks and stuff it with stainless heavy duty chore boy wool to help gather the oil vapor.

Sorry for nubness but what does this do for your car exactly (quantifiable gains)? I'm reading that it catches the oil before entering the intake so on a stock car oil just gets sent in? How often do you need to drain the oil? Does it help with engine longetivity?

All of the oil in the picture would have gone back into the engine and coated the valves, pistons and. It helps with cleanliness of the engine, longevity & performance. Probably emissions too.

Design changed a little. Now it has 3 pieces to it. On the right it is shown assembled in a polished finish. The other one is satin.

simpleisbest 05-13-2013 07:46 PM

Can someone confirm if this kit has the proper sized hoses, or not? It looks like customers are having to fab their own adaptors?

PhastekSport 05-13-2013 07:55 PM

It looks like you'll need adapter fittings on the end for stock applications. I haven't seen a location that could just bolt up unfortunately. These parts are low cost. I just haven't sourced them and need to get a stock vehicle in here.

One Vortech equipped vehicles, there should be no issue.

The supplied hoses do not fit over the intake manifold connection. I just cut the factory hose and used an adapter to connect the hose to the factory cut piece.

I'm not sure about the size. I bought the variety pack of hose connectors they had at Autozone and used the biggest one.

PhastekSport 05-18-2013 01:53 PM

Maybe I can stop by a parts store and see if adding a variety pack would be okay with my boss.

Thanks Tim.
