Pictures w/back seat down?

I'm keen to see what the area in back looks like when the back seat is folded down. Anyone seen a pic like of that?

I've seen it from the trunk side below, but it's a bit hard to picture the other way.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...3&d=1322723092

Also anyone notice that in the above pic the trunk rubber seal seems to be floating in space near the taillight with a big hole thru to show the seat back. Weird.

MF_DEUCE 12-06-2011 04:53 PM

I think I've seen one, but it wasnt very clear. Ill be on the look out if i pass by it again.

Not a hole, just a reflection and lighting that isn't resolving that area. The taillight housing is much bigger than what you see with the trunk closed. All that black is part of the taillight housing.

See similar pic of USDM BRZ with trunk open:

Carries 4 with 1.5 cubed ft of luggage space per person!

I wonder if the seat up acts as a cross brace? If it latches tightly enough I'd think that could happen.

I doubt the structure of the seat is substantial enough to make any difference. On the other hand, I could totally see some sort of aftermarket rear seat delete combined with a quick release, fold down trunk brace.

I like how the seat back doesn't overlap the front edge of the seat when folded down, so if you are big and need to have the drivers seat right back on its rails the seat can still fold down.

Agreed. That is a great detail that Subaru/Toyota designed.

the big test is whether it will fit 6 snowboards with bindings. 158 or smaller

Word.

I will never sell my FJ as I need it for finding remote camping and fishing locations(and it kicks ass) but want a BRZ for fun and relatively economically driving.

looks like it'll hold my guitars without too big of a problem.

I guess there's no possibility of backseat lovin with a Chili's waitress during her break then eh?

There's always room for lovin.

Not weird at all. It's essentially a 2 seater. In that light, it's a lot less messing around folding down the whole back then having to do it twice in a car that doesn't have as much head room (in the back) as a Yaris.

ZetaVI 01-24-2012 09:44 AM

I'm keeping the seats down. No way will I tolerate passengers that will complain about legroom.

Couldn't you accomplish the same thing by just not taking extra passengers...?

I honestly don't understand the desire of some of you to drive with the back seat folded down? IMO it just looks like you were too lazy to fold it back up.

Backseat? No, but if the fronts recline like they do in my camaro, I promise it'll work out just fine ;)

It'd be noisy (ok, not quiet) with the seat down too.. Probably get a bit droany with that trunk acting as a speaker for the exhaust.

Why heat/cool the trunk? (seats down = more room that needs to be heated/cooled thus takes more time to have the cabin heated/cooled).

Also, there's nothing stopping you from keeping stuff ON your seats (unless, obviously, you're one of those people [read: nothing pejorative] that will go to the track with it and bring your tires and don't need to dirty your seats!)

Finally, I'm pretty sure if you're with people that are looking for a ride, the argument of "I would, but my seat is down" won't be enough to deter them from wanting to get in with you. You'll just end up sounding like an ass. I'm sure if you tell your friends that you don't want to hear crap about how little leg room they'll have, they'll understand and STFU.
