which of your wheel tire packages where you on ?

Nice driving till the spin. Did you run out of talent or tire?

I like how the BRZ passes the two S2000s and impresses everybody-- then promptly spins off into the dust.

Definitely talent. Went 2 off on the left (I have a habit of trying to hang half the tire off track), stayed WOT since I had both a decent gap from the car behind me and was in a safe place, and promptly hooked across to the right when the left tires came back on track LOL.

Wasn't exactly going fast, as you can tell from the distance I went :D

I was in a weird funk the whole weekend and struggling in general with lap times.

I was on the wedsports with 235 that session.

I'm trying to find a new good track setup.

I'm thinking the weds sports and 17/245/40 IN RS3. maybe a 17x8.5 or 17x9 not sure what yet. What size wheels are you running?

We have 225 RS3 on 17x8 +45 RPF1, 255 RS3 on 17x8.5 RGII +50 -15mm conversion spacer(which turns out to rub, so we haven't been using it), and 235 RC1 on 17x9 TC105N.

Anything from 235 to 275 will fit well on a 17x9, but I'm not convinced that wider is faster for this car yet.

As always, RPF1 is a great value (both our car and Robispec's car are using them), but if budget isn't a concern, you can get some very nice Volks :)

You trying to pull a Bunta by hooking the tires in the gutter... I mean off the track? :D

Dave-ROR 01-22-2013 01:49 PM

Nice. Any in car from you during the session? :)

CSG Mike 01-22-2013 01:50 PM

I don't think so... I'll check when I get home.

DC@RoadRace 01-22-2013 06:41 PM

Had a blast at the event and I may have footage of my car behind you for a bit. Damn I had sucha good time. Your car looks great and it performed well.

Cheers.

Are they rubbing on the inside or outside? with that space your at 35mm offset.I was thinking 38mm with 8.5 what is the offset in the TC105N thats the exact wheel I was considering.

I looked up the shocks your running pretty neat stuff. Crazy springs rates do you have the grip level for that much spring?

Gregg

Zero rubbing :)

There are more to shocks than just spring rates. Good shocks will let you run insanely high spring rates and not lose grip or sacrifice ride quality ;)

I'm currently on 16k/16k on my s2k, and you'd never know when I'm on the highway :D

added to the OP.... this time, with a lot of dirt and getting the car covered in brown :D

lol oops.

Gixxersixxerman 01-25-2013 06:59 PM

Hahaha nice.. Liked the "walk of shame" part lol

Do have a quick question I was wondering about... Do most guys during the summer run with the AC on or everyone keep it off. Since the condenser is dissipating the heat I wondered if that would cause the car to run hotter.. The hp sap I doubt would make much difference, and the evaporator is letting off the condensation on the track would be... To me... The main reason not to run it.. But it's just one of those dumb questions that I wondered about...

Regardless it's gotta be better then when I'm sitting in the sun in my "good looking" black leathers when I'm at the track on the bike lol

At least you have all that nice sand as a runoff.
