New car detailing and opti coat

I'm looking for a good reputation detailer in GTA OR MARKHAM area.

I will taking my delivery on this week and I request the dealership not doing the the detailing for my car. So the car will still warp in plastic while on delivery.

Please recommend.
PM me if this is not a open discussion

Thanks

FA5

Try contacting @Hamza7, I'm pretty sure he's the one that started the ft86club opti-coat obsession, and he's in Markham.

And he grills some delicious chicken!

^ Hamza's been banned. Not sure why though. I have his phone number. I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to give it out through PMs, right?

That's also why I'm hesitant to give out his info.

I would assume it's because he was advertising his services here, but he never applied to be an official vendor.

I wasn't happy with my know detailer because I found out my car has 5 more km when I pick her up.
Hope it wasn't a joy ride.

That's pretty shady, what was their excuse for the additional milage? Let's hope it's not what we all think it is...

I took mine to Kevin at GTA In Detail. Did an awesome job and was a real down to earth guy. He's in Mississauga and works with another guy (Marco) that also does clear bra installs so you can get the whole thing done at once if you want to.
Highly recommended.

A5D5TRYR 01-22-2013 11:02 PM

Also, he's already done a number of FR-S's and BRZ's and will even do some debadging for you if you're interested.

+1 on Kevin at GTAinDetail. I had my Firestorm done there. Had some issues with the OptiGuard on the glass but he's always supportive to answer questions and stands by his work.

Burrcold 01-23-2013 12:15 PM

Yup +1 for Kevin! He just did mine last Friday, and the car was absolutely perfect! He even cleaned my rubber mats lol The guy is seriously good, and completely obsessed with his trade (A GOOD THING!). :)

Thanks guy.
Could anyone PM me the contact information or referral to him?
Appreciate for the help.

Some people don't give out excuse. I can't proof that because I wasn't wrote the mileage in front of him. I can remember the mileage because it was only 27km on odometer. Don't want to be a **** to anyone. I wouldn't mine let him drive my car that he just need simple ask me let's go for a ride.

I love all my car and I enjoy to drive them just like everyone here. We use our car to work, have fun and make friends. Agree?

Btw, what were your experience of how long dose it take to complete the new car detailing and opti coat? Can it be one day job?

I'll give him a call.

Do you guys recommend Kevin or Hamza?

Burrcold 01-24-2013 07:06 AM

I hear Hamza is good, but I only know Kevin from my own experience and he is amazing. He's been doing it for years and is well known on many other car forums for his extensive knowledge of detailing cars (see e90 and g35driver forums for huge write ups by him on almost anything related to detailing your car).

He also has a dedicated shop, so dropping by in the dead cold of winter isn't an issue for him. I believe Hamza is only mobile (but has access to shops in the east and west ends of Toronto).

Skurj 01-24-2013 07:34 AM

ANyone able to PM me a typical cost for exterior from Kevin?

I was in there last Friday to get a paint chip repaired and I saw your car. Looked really good. How do you like the JDM tips? Also saw you had winter tires on it. Nice to see so many guys driving it year round.

Thanks! Love the JDM tips. They should have come on the car stock, rather than the tiny ones we got. I do plan on getting a full exhaust, but this was a great interim solution.

He opticoated the winter rims as well! lol I figured I wanted less salt to stick and have the easier to clean (even though they are winter steelies).

How much does it cost for Opti-coat? and how long does it take? I wonder if i can just wait at the shop while he does it or do i have to leave my car with him?
thanks

I find that OptiCoating wheels, especially alloys, makes cleaning brake dust odd infinitely easier.

Yeah, he opticoated my wheels as well, which I wasn't expecting. Luckily it turned out that I had my summer rims on the car when he did it and then I switched to my winter rims after the fact. I'm not so much worried about the salt on the rims as the brake dust as it turns acidic and eats into the rims if you don't clean it off somewhat regularly.

I asked him if the opticoat would keep the brake dust from eating into the rim and he wasn't sure but figured it probably slows down the process but doesn't stop it. Hard to say cause opticoat is supposed to stop bird-shit from eating into your paint and it's the same sort of acidic problem. He did say that he's never seen an opticoated rim have pitting so it may very well protect them from the acidic effects.

brianc 01-24-2013 01:08 PM

Most of the Opti-Coat/Guard guys will do your wheels as well. headlights/tail lights, plastic trim, glass can also be done on request usually. I've even seen Opti-Coat on exhaust tips.

I've said it like 30x but for Opti-Coat most of the guys in GTA have positive reviews. I don't think I've heard anyone talk bad about anyone.

Depending on where you are located there are different detailers that can do it for you. Here are a few detailers I recommend and know of who do Opti-Coat.

For East End
Hamza @ Elevated Auto Care http://www.getdetailed.ca/

Alex or boredstudent3 @ Attentiv to Detailz

For West End
Bryan @ Concours Touch
http://concourstouch.com/

Kevin @ GTAinDetail
http://gtaindetail.com

For Central Toronto and Scarborough

Wes_R @ Orion Detailing
http://oriondetailing.co/

I am sure there are more but I don't know of them.
