Southeast sound OFF!

Hey look! A regional's forum!

Woooooo!! Lets show 'em how we do it in the durty south!:bellyroll:

S2KtoFT86 12-27-2009 10:05 AM

Holla!! Okay so yeah, since we have Regional forums now, I think we should start scheduling some meets to get to know each other before this thing drops.

OldSkoolToys 12-29-2009 12:10 AM

Yeah, we should definitately get something like that going. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to make it out to such an event with my 86. Poor girl is a few weeks short of bowing out of DD status and taking the slow road to refreshingville.

Its gonna be painful putting the car cover / tarp over her.

That sucks but I'm not so worried about seeing people's cars as I am getting to know the future FT owners.

Sup, from Nashville, you know how the dirty south does it, haha, no seriously I'm down for meets, nice ae86 btw!

Thanks man! I'm actually living in La Vergne right now. What part of Nashville do you stomp around in?

West side, we used to meet up every Friday night about three summers ago, now most have moved on or stopped for whatever reason.

OldSkoolToys 01-13-2010 07:01 PM

The only mass meets I remember, outside of my group of friends meeting up in Franklin, was the nights people would get together under the pedestrian bridge in downtown.

I only went to that a few times though.

Jhmason21 01-13-2010 07:27 PM

Yea I remember hearing about that but I was at school in Cookeville.

OldSkoolToys 01-14-2010 12:34 AM

You didn't miss much, trust me. It was a bunch of "lolhondacivic" kids and a few F&F wannabe richie kids with faster cars acting like they were God's gift to the world.

I know how ya feel on the people meeting and then falling apart. My group still meets up, but I'm the only one left who's still kicking around with his old car. Everyone else has moved on. LOL, matured I guess and gotten more reliable DD's and whatnot.

Jhmason21 01-14-2010 12:42 AM

I actually have always wanted a AE86 but never had the funds to buy one and do it the justice it needed... But if you got any buddies that have one that can be purchased for a reasonable amount. Let me know man! Wouldn't sell the Celica for it just yet, but I'd be willing to grab it up...

OldSkoolToys 01-14-2010 05:50 PM

I wouldn't suggest getting rid of your celica for the ae86. I mean, its definitely an automotive upgrade in my eyes, but for DD purposes, keep something more reliable. AE86's nowadays are so old that its just hard as all fucking hell to keep them running right.

I'll keep an eye out for an AE86 (if i don't snag it first myself :bellyroll:) though.

S2KtoFT86 01-15-2010 09:18 AM

Get rid of it and get a Honda.

Yea, I'd keep my Celica as a DD unless something more civilized (:burnrubber:) came up. But I do like working on cars so maybe I need an AE86. lol you better not snag or steal it...

My wife likes her black '09 Si coupe she uses as daily driver... and loves to shift! I'm waiting on the FT-86 for an affordable DD for me.
