Is it worth to pay $ for BeSpoke?
Hey folks,
Just a quick one. Is it worth the money to get the BeSpoke audio system? Tell me your experience of this thingy. Happy Sunday - Thanks |
I don't have any experience, but my homework results in a whole lotta "nope."
|
Nope.
|
Thoroughly unimpressed. Just get an aftermarket system for the $900.
|
i really just got it cause i couldnt find one without it. anyways. its not a really bad product. could be better. takes time to get used to but i only use it for music so it doesnt really matter. the nav is stupid cause you need to use the app on your phone and connect it with the system. i dont personally hate it but i also dont expect much from it. does its job so no complaints here.

The best way to describe Bespoke: it's nice if it came with the car. But not worth it to upgrade if coming from the stock pioneer unit.
|
Between the BeSpoke system I tested in the FR-S I test drove and the standard radio in the FR-S I bought, I like the stock radio better and would upgrade to an aftermarket later.
I just felt that the BeSpoke's interface was too clunky and wasn't really all that easy to work with. |
Came with my car. Would NOT pay more for it. It looks cool and that is about the extent of it.

I actually really like the BeSpoke unit... To me it seems really user friendly and works pretty smoothly. But if you don't have an iPod or iPhone it may turn out to be pretty useless for you.
|
I am so happy I did not pay more for the Bespoke stereo. The stock one (although it does have a 90s look) is actually quite good. The bluetooth functionality is quite good and it sounds pretty good with more than anticipated customization. I may add an amp, upgrade speakers, and possibily a powered sub in the future but I'm happy with the stock pioneer stereo and my iPhone 5 (mounted on a Mountek CD-mount) for navigation.

I like it, but I'm coming from Ford Sync (which was awful) so the Bluetooth and iPod integration is pretty sweet. But I would have gone with the stock unit too.
|
I was tempted to get it then my dealership was honest enough to tell me not to get it because there have been several drivers coming back to have it replaced or fixed because of constant problems with the unit. Something along the lines of touch sensitivity wearing out over time. They advised me to get an aftermarket or a dealer option instead. I've yet decided what I will be doing, more than likely attempt to make a Nexus 7 head unit after seeing one being done on youtube. Good to know someone with a 3D printer to make the bezel, woohoo!
|
NO, get yourself a aftermarket unit, you won't go wrong
|
Keep your money. Hell if I could have opted out of getting the BRZ nav unit, and saved money I would have. There are so many better aftermarket solutions for these cars.
|
I got my BeSpoke for free, but I would've been disappointed if I paid for it.
|
i was looking for a stock one but came with mine so i was like eh ill just get it.. worth it ? no imo.. the stock is fine as long its bluetooth.. most smartphones now a days have nav... if the brz had a google nav it would be nice.. but yeah the be spoke app sucks too and the b spoke unit wont bind with my GS3 only my iphone but i think its due to having a custom rom on my GS3.. the phone part works great plus i have pandora radio hacked i get it for free:bellyroll:
im sure you can get a nice one for half the price or less on amazon/ebay |
It's wierd it's only a 550$ option in canada. I like mine...first time I dont feel like I have to change a stock HU.

Looks good but it really anywhere as neat as it looks haha its just not even close to worth it imo

I love my bespoke, I don't listen to the radio and just what's on my droid RAZR HD and thru pandora.. It connects automatically, and the calls are clear and perfect.. I haven't had a issue with connecting or calls. And the radio works perfect... That said, the base radio suppose to do the same.. My only gripe is no aux video input.. Every car I seen (2) lol had them in, and I checked the box when I built my own.. The price of it over the course of my loan added about 2$ to my payment, and I'm hoping helps resale when it's sold or traded..
I would not have waited just to get bespoke, but if its in there I wouldn't care.. I wouldn't go buy it off eBay or anything either.. There is better... Way better out there.. But I think it looks good and works great.. |

http://www.scion.com/BeSpoke/features/ The Canadian unit doesn't have the navteq navigation linking does it? Or Pandora radio? |

On a slightly different note, having experienced retina on the iPhones and iPad 3+, I hope both OEM and aftermarket starts in bring out super high resolution units without having to resort to cheap android-based units from no name brand Chinese companies. |
i regret it it. not worth the money at all. wish i hadnt got it and just bought an aftermarket unit.

AFAIK the stock one has bluetooth calling too. I don't think the BeSpoke gives any additional functionality and doesn't make anything sound better (no satelite radio still, I don't have an ipod). So no, I wish I could sell the one that came with mine but its way too much hassle.
|
for over 900 hell no, but if u can get it cheap (i paid 450) it's worth it
|
Incredibly happy with the base unit, haven't paired blue tooth yet but the radio, auxiliary jack and cd player all exceed expectations for someone who bought the car to drive it, not listen to music.
|
Not in my eyes.... The vase radio is a bit boring looking but it's got Bluetooth audio which not many ungraded car stereos have so for me being and iPhone user it's perfect I just use the radio to control volume and change songs the rest I do on my phone. Me it navigation or music or YouTube it all plays through the car radio. It's stupid easy to use as well

Going to say no as wells. Bought a Sony navigation system with backup camera and had it installed for less than $600.00. Bluetooth phone and audio, DVD... the works.
|
The only thing that the stock bespoke unit has over an aftermarket system is that thieves most likely wouldn't want it and even if they steal it, they will quickly learn everyone avoids it like the plague and might give it back to you through the windshield.
