jet86 01-20-2013 06:54 AM

time for the fabrication to begin.
the turbo manifold is 1.5" 305 stainless steel sch10 steam pipe for durability and it will never rust, it also uses stainless cnc cut flanges and will feed a tial stainless exhaust housing

Wish i knew how to weld. I can do pretty much everything when it comes to working on cars...except fabrication, maybe i just need to plunk down the money and buy a damn welder and a bunch of tubing to practice on...

jet86 01-20-2013 07:15 AM

theres a heap of other things ive done that i just cant be bothered adding because they are not really that important.
If any of you want to know about the turbo system im designing just read the following:-
I am using my own custom manifold
turbo is the new GTX2867r (480hp). It is running a tial stainless v-band exhaust housing (.64) and will have a full 3" exhaust (catless) running through a 3" magnaflow muffler then splitting at the diff into another 2 magnaflow mufflers and then out some hks burnt tips.
I will most likely be running a visconti 9psi 93 octane tune but running 98-100 octane (available here in australia) and also a secondary tune of e85.
Stay tuned because in the next few weeks there will be alot of parts arriving :)

jet86 01-20-2013 07:20 AM

just testing different welding setups for the manifold

I was thinking the same thing early in the evening before even reading this thread. I could be doing so much with the ideas kicking around in my head, rather than trying to find fabricators and working with their timelines. And the crazy thing is I have both a tig and mig. I got some of the basics down, but never continued with it. Need to start breaking those out and practicing.

Nice looking build, can't wait to see the turbo finished up! What coilovers are those and how do you like them?

Coilovers are BC MRs and I love them. I've run BCs on all my race an drift cars with nothing but good results. I've got them turned up pretty firm on the street but they arnt bouncy at all and don't break your back.

Sick build. I have none of the skills needed to do this but I am happy that there are people that do!

Please don't tell me you are going to leave a 10" tablet jammed under your gauge hood like that
