Quick vid of new Nameless Offset revised system

This new system has mandrel bends & some other minor tweaks (I'm sure Jason can chime in).

The car is still up in the air, as I have other mods in process, so no driving impressions, yet.

I will say that it's quiet @ idle (music for my old ears) & sounds very crisp & clean on rev-up, and not too loud then, either--I'm very pleased so far!
Saved approx ~5 lbs for the axle-back.
I'm hopeful that it will still be relatively quiet when the whole system is in (Header, overpipe & HF cat) @ idle/cruise. Will post that clip as well when all are installed.

Thx to Sportsguy for the recommendation.

Sorry for the terrible quality--forgot I had my phone set on low res.

That sounds really great! Curious to see it with the headers, mid pipe, etc

It's one of the few products I blindly recommend. It is a work of art! I'm glad you like it, looking forward to seeing/hearing it in the FL Mega Meet!

Edit: SOUNDS AWESOME!!

Very nice, glad to see nameless back at it.

GTB/ZR-1 01-24-2013 04:36 PM

Quick update: I got my car back on the road & have been evaluating the system.

It's pleasantly quiet @ cruise--I'm so thankful & hope(!) it maintains most of that w/ the rest of the exhaust pieces planned.

Very nice, non-obnoxious tone when getting on it. Sounds sporty--pleased.

Only 1 concern so far: it rattles a bit when stationary & just as car begins to move (forward & reverse). I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that I ordered the stiffer hanger grommets?

Overall, very satisfied so far...

What do the offset mufflers mean? I was always curious what they mean by this.

Pipe enters the muffler offset from center and exits the muffler offset from center.

I don't know if they should take all the blame but the stiffer hangers at the minimum contribute.

Sounds pretty sweet, but too quiet for my taste. I love loud. Good to see Nameless has so many options with a single exhaust to match customer taste without sacrificing performance. Very top notch quality system. Can't wait to get their 3" system when they are done testing! :)

Interesting. Why would someone want this over the non-offset version?

It's quieter and deeper than the traditional setup with the position of the pipe going into the mufflers. That's all.

What the hell.....

Back to having no idea what exhaust I want

Perrin, FT86speed V1, or this

I'd move Perrin off the list because it's too expensive and heavy compared to the others. It does perform but damn, it's $1500+ for their headerback. If you have no problem dishing out cash, there's no problem there. The cheapest I've seen their catback is $769 from a groupbuy on this site, which isn't too bad. If you can get the front pipe and OP for about $500, then this statement would be irrelevant. :)

The V1 from FT-86 Speedfactory is a really good choice. You can get an overpipe/frontpipe combo with FT-86 Speedfactory to match the V1 and they'll help you do it easily for a great price. I highly recommend working with them as their customer service is top notch. I put this second on my list behind Nameless simply because I was already committed to Nameless' revised system they are working on.

Nameless offers a much lighter solution (Unless you go with the revised axleback which is a bit heavier, but 2.5" tubing with a 3" inlet, 21 lbs vs 16 lbs) still lighter than stock either way. Jason is working on a mid-pipe solution now to see if the axleback produces 7 ft lbs of torque with the 2.5" or 3" midpipe as their new quad muffler system did. I'm definitely a fan of their overpipe/downpipe combo simply because it's not "bendy" like the original OP's. I see less restriction in it (catted of course) and the biggest gains in the exhaust are from the header to that downpipe, or frontpipe. They put a lot of effort into testing and revising items. If you're patient and enjoy watching the research and development of their products, I highly recommend Nameless. Jason and Ryan both are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Just my .02 cents. Hopefully I didn't make your decision harder. Either way, FT-86 Speedfactory or Nameless, you really cannot go wrong. Both companies are way up there in respect and service. Perrin has outstanding service as well. All 3 top companies.

Were the other nameless axlebacks not mandrel-bent?

This is the 3" version. I just ordered my 3" inch one yesterday, non-offset. Can't wait. This exhaust is awesome!

We haven't produced a single exhaust in the history of our company that wasn't mandrel bent. Just the facts. Even our strut tower bars are mandrel bent.

Jason

@Jason@Nameless Being that you've likely heard all of these, how big of a difference is there between the 2.5" non-offset, 2.5" offset and the new 3" offset? I'm pretty sure the 2.5" offset should be quietest, and 2.5 non-offset loudest, but not sure about how big of a difference there is between them. ie, slightly louder, noticeably, etc?

There are videos of this on youtube. Just search Nameless Axleback FR-S BRZ.

There is a hot lava FR-S that has the offset installed, and plenty other videos with non offset. It's a little deeper tone that's a tad quieter than the non-offset. Sound is still very similar.

Thanks for the heads up, but I am well aware of the youtube videos, hell, i posted a number of them. However I would prefer to hear the opinion of someone who has heard them all in person, especially given the vast variances in video/audio quality, recording equipment, recording distances, wind noise, etc from the videos shown on youtube.

Would you recommend the zeta performance cat back? I also want a louder exhaust so at first I was looking at nameless axel back and no offset.

Sounds like i'll hold off a little bit before selling my original nameless non-offset axleback. Once they hammer down their R&D i'll likely sell it and go from there.

Zeta has a good design as well. They're one of the newer catbacks along with the V1 to show up. There's a lot of companies you really can't go wrong with. Just make sure of the material they use, and look at the weld quality. After looking at Zeta's, it looks pretty decent. To me, a bit restricted, but that's just from my view. I thought the Nameless system would be affected by bends but it isn't.

wparsons 02-07-2013 06:00 PM

Did they drop all the 2.5" options? Why such a big diameter for N/A?

GTB/ZR-1 is absolutely correct, I am going to recommend Nameless. Why?, because I did a huge amount of research (literally weeks of listening to videos, getting information on companies.... yeah a bit TOO MUCH...) and ended up in Nameless because of several factors.

Build and developed in USA with american materials Check
Amazing Customer Service Check
Top of the line quality Check
Design is REALLY engineered Check
There is a reason for the pipe runs and bends Check
Sound is particular and awesome Check
If I had to do it again, I would buy Nameless Check
Even with the new exhausts in the market..... Check

That is why :D
