Canada BRZ Radio Trim

Friends in the north, I was wondering if anyone would mind putting in a call to their local Subaru dealer and asking about the following head unit trim piece:

I prefer that kit over the one shown below, which as I understand it is what pretty much all of the aftermarket kits look like.

If someone wouldn't mind asking about a price, I would greatly appreciate it. Assuming that it isn't too expensive I might ask for a hand in ordering this piece. Thanks for any and all help!

I have the same question in at my local dealer. The parts guy is tracking this down for me. I will post as soon as I have the part numbers and / or how to order in Canada.

I am almost done wrapping all the interior silver parts with 3M 1080p in Anthracite (aka silver carbon fiber). The dash is my last part.

Pics!

Yeah, that's the idea I had. I'm going to wrap the interior in my FR-S, so this trim kit will finish everything up and make it look much cleaner. Please let us know what you hear!

There's the color difference (but he's wrapping the interior pieces any way), but I believe the BRZ radio trim pieces are a little better fitting and more flush vs the aftermarket kits.

By the way, that top pic is my interior.

Correct, the aftermarket dash kits leave a bigger, more noticeable gap between the head unit and the dash trim. The stock one fills the space better because it's not a universal kit.

And sorry for borrowing the pic of your dash, it just happens to be such a perfect example of what I'm looking for.

Oh no worries at all. Use it as you need! :)

Still no word from the (Subaru) dealer. I will try to find a moment to ask Toyota / Scion this week.

Do you have a part number or anything for it? I figured it would only be available from Subaru in Canada.

MiniGuy 01-30-2013 02:10 AM

No part no. So far. I removed them from the head unit and no part number. Also noted that they are "made in Japan" - maybe japanparts can find them for us? If they do, they will be $100 landed.

I should have a moment on Friday to bug my dealer again - my weekly ritual.

Any word from the dealer? I'm tempted to try my luck contacting someone as well.

MiniGuy 02-06-2013 10:56 PM

Sorry, I checked in on Friday. - No luck. Time to start calling other dealers.

mottor 02-08-2013 04:38 PM

Update: I contacted a Subaru dealer in Canada yesterday regarding the trim and they have quoted me $82.69 for the parts. Unless another option comes available, I guess I'll be sticking with what I already have.

Broke down and paid way to much for the beat sonic. It does not really fit so epoxied it in, bondo'ed the gap. Sanded and ground for at least 2 hours an then wrapped the dash (3M 1080 anthracite aka dark silver carbon fibre look). What do you think?Attachment 28616

jenzan 02-21-2013 01:33 AM

Nice! All that effort paid off, love the shift knob too, I should really have gotten in on the group buy for those, *sigh*.

Burrcold 02-21-2013 07:01 AM

Looks great!

chenshuo 02-21-2013 09:52 AM

what's the difference between the Beatsonic one and the Pioneer one? They look the same?

Also, where did you get the red push start button and how did you change it?

You need to google and search this forum more..

Everything you have a question for is more than likely to exist already.

As for the button you need to purchase it at a dealer/vendor, or a part store online.

Pioneer doesn't make a dash trim kit. Metra and Beatsonic both do, which leave the ugly gaps in the sides as shown from my OP. I was looking for the Subaru part, but found that they want $83 for it, which is way too much. I can fabricate something that looks better for less than half of that.

MiniGuy 02-21-2013 09:49 PM

The sti start button was sourced from japanparts.com. Make sure you get the BRZ specific part. It's a quick 5 min install. It's way too expensive for a button. Looks cool but way too expensive.

unsurety 12-18-2014 05:40 PM

Any update on the part # for this?
@MiniGuy @mottor

mottor 12-18-2014 05:47 PM

I can't remember the numbers since it was so long ago, but you should be able to call any Canadian Subaru dealership and tell them what you're looking for and they can get it. As mentioned earlier those two little plastic pieces alone are like $85 plus shipping. I'm going to get my dash trim wrapped and molded around the radio to fill in that gap. It'll be cleaner solution and not much more expensive.

SLVRSRFR 12-19-2014 08:42 AM

Holy shit $85?!

I just swapped my interior trim to black, but these 2 little silver pieces are the only silver remaining.

I was hoping to get some black ones but not for $85...I'll just Plasti-dip them if that's the case.

Here's another option, subaru oem part from japan:

https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/43320

https://www.japanparts.com/images/im...b.php?no=46272

roughly ~60 bucks cdn w/ shipping

pretty sure it's the same as the silver canadian brz trim but in glossy black
