Any Toyota 86 Auto available for sale ?.

Hi,
I am still waiting for my car to arrive but getting frustrated with lack of Toyota SA feedback. My mate in UK ordered his Toyota 86 auto 2 months ago and just received it !. It seems like there is something wrong with Toyota SA as we all have to wait for months ( 6-8 months apparently ) for our car to reach SA shores. If you guys know about any cancelled order on Toyota 86 auto please let me know. Also this could help others to get hands on their dream car :) sooner as I am sure I am not alone.

Cheers

Hi

I think the problem here is supply vs demand. Out of the the 58/month allocation for SA, I'm sure only a few are auto.

there seem to be quite a few demos available: http://www.autotrader.co.za/search?keywords=86 (edit: all seems MT STD though)

or do as i do and just phone around until you find a dealer who has stock and then be prepared to drive all across the country to pick it up (ps: worth it :)

Thanks , will give a go. I do not mind travelling :)

Phone around definitively. I called about every dealer nation wide but found a cancelation within a week. The toyota dealers can actually check online what dealership has what cars available. Thing is the local dealers will rather have Toyota SA lose a sale than refer you to another dealer.

Phone TSA call center or gumtree also has a few listings.

There is a white auto available at Theweni Toyota Westville. Speak to Niel

Also there might be one coming to Imperial Toyota on bram fischer. Speak to Lucky.

I feel your frustrations, czechza. I was also struggling to find my silver high mt because all the dealers I spoke to told me that there's a long waiting list and nothings available etc etc. However, I ended up contacting TSA directly via their website and requested a list of all dealerships who had been allocated a silver high mt. TSA responded with a list of dealerships and contact numbers and after calling each one, I was finally able to secure mine and I got it within a week. Granted I had to drive 400km to get it but the drive home made it worth while ;) Goodluck, bud. Hope you get yours soon! it's an AMAZING drivers car :D

FYI, allot of dealers are advertising their available cars on gumtree

There is NO Ways someone would be online checking the forum on his first day. Car is in the garage being wiped down...:bellyroll:

Naughty 01-27-2013 02:55 PM

Congrats, love the colour

Razzle 01-27-2013 06:37 PM

Congrats !!! And a high spec as well.

Do yourself a favour and tell the dealer you want an 'all plastic' number plate holder. Those ones with the metal centre rusts after a year.

Li28 01-28-2013 11:43 AM

Pearl White Auto available at Melrose. Received an e-mail from the dealer today.

Sheesh, thanks for nothing! I have one of the metal ones, now I'm gonna be panicking that its got rust all over it!
Should be better up here though than in CT.

:( Sorry dude. Perhaps Jhb is better than CT. Cars stand outside and they don't even rust in joeyies
I've seen new 1yr old mercs with rusted number plate holders here in CT.

Yup we mostly seem to be fine with rust, will need to just watch the holder though.

I know of someone selling an orange 86 hi auto if anyone is interested...

I'm hanging in for my BRZ manual due "soon"!

Gavin

Strat 02-03-2013 06:53 AM

Hi,

I'm also waiting for mine for what seems like forever! Ordered a Hi spec manual.

Might be interested in a Hi Auto.

Reason for selling?
