I see 3 lights in that strip so my guess would be the LEDs. The Toyota/Scion has them at an angle inside the headlight.

Extra foglamps? NISMO offers something similar.

Nismo Hyper DRL Lights Nissan R35 GTR 09+
These LED fog lamps (running lamps) are offered by Nissan Japan as an optional upgrade. They are designed to integrate with the OEM front bumper and provide additional visibility.

I think those are second DRL.

Those are the turn signals, i suppose the indicators are when you turn/flip the signal switch it comes on like the BMW/Mercedes and the newer high end car have. Iono Im just taking a wild fucking guess.

KevinDuMa 12-02-2011 10:05 PM

Looks like it is an LED strip I guess similar to ones on Audi's...if you don't get fogs they're still on the car pretty sweet

torquemada 12-02-2011 10:15 PM

a second pair of DRL?

tranzformer 12-02-2011 10:18 PM

I like the BRZ more and more as I notice more details.

n2oinferno 12-02-2011 11:16 PM

I'm guessing secondary DRLs.

Username 12-02-2011 11:55 PM

The second photo from the US spec photos shows the car running and those lower lights don't seem to be lit.

Maybe not DRL?

I don't know if they're DRLs or if they're supplementary fog lights, but they are three high powered LEDs in each one. You can see the three yellow circles inside the housing. I stuck a high powered LED next to it in the pic.

tranzformer 12-03-2011 01:07 AM

There such a thing as low beam and high beam fog lights?

Don't think so, hi-beam would just reflect off the fog back into your eyes. I could be wrong though...

Yeah that is what I thought. Just not sure why the one fog has 3 high powered LEDs in it then.

Maybe they're just parking lights? Here's a better shot.

KevinDuMa 12-03-2011 01:19 AM

Here's a better pic of the LED strip lit

Giccin 12-03-2011 01:29 AM

I really think its the parking lights.. that one notch you go before you turn on your headlights. Then again... I could be wrong... but I really am leaning towards it being parking lights.

BRZ "Premium" it seems.

WhiteGDB 12-03-2011 05:34 AM

The BRZ's headlights look better every time I see them. Is there a better set of OEM headlights on the market than the BRZ? I can't think of any.

they donīt use parking lights in Japan???

Dave-ROR 12-03-2011 11:44 AM

Maybe the drls are fine fr parking lights in Japan but us requires them to be lower or something. No idea.

Guff 12-03-2011 09:53 PM

I thought they were originally DRLs, but they removed them for the production car?

Soravia 12-04-2011 01:18 AM

Maybe regulations are different in Japan, or the car isn't exactly complete on TSM. None of those are mass-production, yet. Still built for each purpose.

Is there someone in U.S. we can ask?
