Photoshop Experts..have a request (BRZ with GT86 Front Bumper)

It looks interchangeable. I really like the Toyota front bumper, is there anyone someone could mock up what that would look like on the BRZ (With BRZ headlights and emblem)? I find it to be a little more aggressive looking and since Toyota is slacking on the FRS, it looks like the avenue I might need to take. Thanks in advance if anyone can help out.

EJ20 12-02-2011 06:14 PM

nop, its not interchangable... I GT86 headlights abit longer than the BRZ headlights

blur 12-02-2011 07:41 PM

Why not just get a 86 and stick subaru emblems on it?

Oddly enough the 86's look like they would fit the BRZ's bumper with the indentations.

Henwee 12-02-2011 08:27 PM

if u look at the BRZ front bumper, there is an indentation showing how the GT86 headlight extends further

After zooming in on RRnold's pics, it looks like the subaru's headlights actually hide behind the bumper? look at the little black piece in the corner, it looks to me like it is sitting in front of the lights if you follow the bottom line of the headlights with your eyes. Anyone else see that? If i am correct that would suggest they are actually the same shape.

Zaku 12-02-2011 10:03 PM

lol what would you call a converted front BRZ and FRS FRZ? lol remind me of the Sileighty of days old.

180sx back s13 front. I can see this mod catching on once people figure it out. I'm Hopeful :D

That black piece is more like a

"Oh shit, we're running out of time, what are we going to do... let's fabricate this black plastic wedge!" :bellyroll:

+1

The bumper clip, headlights and headlight brackets will be needed and I'm sure this conversion will be done a lot. BRZ with a FR-S front end!

Edit: I wish as soon as both cars are on sale, someone has balls to be a genuine pig.

kouki and zenki? lol idk :party0030:

baldolera 12-02-2011 10:13 PM

I sure hope it does, because the BRZ has all the things I want but the 86/FR-S front looks heaps better IMHO.

swift996 12-02-2011 10:15 PM

Interesting, good points. I'd like the BRZ if it comes with the interior as shown. The FRS looks too cheap and the headlights aren't goint to be LED like the GT86 anyways. I wish Toyota would just bring the 86 and I'd buy that.

Don't trip... LED headlights, red interior, foglights, spoiler, body kit, etc will be options from Scion! ;)

YES. so sorry with wrong word choice.
Come to think of if, I've always had both mixed up. :bellyroll:

Zaku 12-02-2011 10:45 PM

I would totally do it if I had an FRS and a BRZ front, making less expensive car look more expensive is fun XD !!! I remember helping someone turn a MR2 into a Ferrari that didn't really go hahaha. I might even try it for real depending on which car I end up buying. Don't let my BRZ fanboism get you anything I can save money on and justify with saving more money I will buy.

In this case Buy an FRS and a BRZ front? LOL

jimmillion 12-02-2011 10:53 PM

you can have mine. I'd gladly take the FR-S aka. GT86 front bumper off your hands.

Exactly it might be fun to do :D besides think of how many people want BRZ with 86 Front and 86 people want BRZ front. Can you even tell the diff if they do make the changes lol

Guff 12-02-2011 11:53 PM

Here's an attempt at the 'shop you wanted.

http://i1127.photobucket.com/albums/...-FRSHybrid.jpg

The FRS was red so color matching was difficult (lighting was different too). But whatever! :thumb up:

If you want something that looks OEM, WingsOfWar will be your guy! He's a master! :respekt:

tripjammer 12-03-2011 12:04 AM

What if the black plastic trim on the front bumper can be removed?
Or how about replacing it with a carbon fiber piece?
What about painting it body color?

You know what having the front black bumper piece goes with having the rear diffuser...both are black and create a matched look.

I'll try one of it removed later, that'll take a bit more work. But I did one painted. And it looks...meh :iono:

Photoshopin is not like 10 minutes work, it takes an hour or hourssss. Especially perfectionist people like me for example lol. Instead of shoppin the whole bumper, just change the BRZ headlights onto an FR-S :iono:

Good point, I should have thought of that. And I know for a good shop it takes time, but I guess I'm impatient. I really just want to get a rough idea of what something would look like so I whip it up (On a MacBook trackpad no less) and I look at it.

I'll leave the Desktop-background-quality stuff to you guys!!

Whoa no you did a great job, didn't mean to sound like your shop sucked or anything. :happy0180:

That post was meant for OP, lol. You did what I didn't wanna do, shop it and get the angles right. My bad man :bellyroll:

For anyone that want to see what a BRZ looks like with a FRS front, just change the headlighs nd badge  its faster too

Swap meet

swift996 12-03-2011 10:51 AM

Thanks Guff, nice work...gives me a good idea. I can't wait for these cars to start rolling out. I have an e46 M3 which I will probably hold on to until late next summer and at that point look to buy either the BRZ or FRS. I'd love the GT86 in black, still trying to figure out which route I'm going to take. The BRZ is really growing on me.

I don't know... I think the angling is the same but the framing of the picture of the 86 is slightly more parallel to the bottom of the headlight.

I'm fairly sure if you cut that notch out of the BRZ, you can fit 86 lights in it.

Zaku 12-03-2011 12:04 PM

I really do think the fronts can be changed but you'll need to change both lights bumper hopefully not the whole front clip. But I do think its like the Silvia and 180sx you can exchange to make the Sileighty

good find, it actually looks totally cheap and prototype-like when you look at the brz with this little black piece sitting in the inner corner of the headlights

Caliban 12-06-2011 03:41 AM

get JDM front clips ;) I am sure there will be a lot of wrecked ones from track events.
