BRZ delivery dates brought forward
 

Recently a lot of people's BRZ delivery dates have been brought forward which was a welcome surprise to most of us. I decided to check my order today for shits and giggles and it's moved forward again since the last update. I ordered in August 2012 with an expected ETA of August 2013. That moved forward to May and when I check today, April.

I wonder if anyone else's orders have? :thumbup:

Yes - I ordered mine in oct 12 and was nov 13 delivery.
It is now may 13.

Yes the same thing happened to my order DGM premium with diffuser order placed end SEPT 12 delivery date quoted Oct 13. Recently updated delivery date JUNE 13 and now updated again about 2 weeks ago to MAY 13. Nothing from Subaru Australia as to why but must assume that like Toyota Subura has managed to get a bulk delivery so every body moves up. I have noted that all new orders are still quoting 13 months till delivery.

That's good news llama_au, someone might of cancelled their order or requested it be moved further away. Also your colour choice plays a big part.

I just checked mine, my heart was racing! But I'm still on order for April pickup, I ordered 8th August for a WRB.

It seems according to a few others I've spoken to their dates jumped forward again too. I ordered 10 days after you :)

Mine was originally Nov. '13. Got pushed up to June sometime in December, then again a couple weeks later. ETA is now May '13.

mine wasn't brought forward but they have updated delivery date with a specific date of 16th Apr. Anyone know how accurate these delivery dates are? I've got a holiday planned just before this date.

Interesting. I keep logging in to see if I have a specific date, but none yet. Would be handy to know so I can sell off my current car/obtain finance at the right time :)

Not sure if this is actual new info, or just someone posting after the fact, but it could mean dates will get brought forward even more (I live in hope).

Yeah I read something a couple of days ago too, but pretty sure it's just reporting after the fact.

My delivery date was set for around the start of November but then jumped forward to mid-October around 6-8 weeks before the car was meant to show up.
If I remember correctly, Natalie (the BRZ coordinator) told me that the date was a worst case scenario and that if all goes well, then the car should show up before the original date.
I'm not sure if things have changed for this years deliveries, but I wouldn't count on the date being 100% accurate.

I think this ordering system is all over the shop, frankly I'm getting impatient, ordered August 8th. Due April. Just seems odd how people who ordered around 2 weeks before me received there cars already, yet some people ordered at launch and still haven't gotten theirs.

There is probably many factors at play, colour, transmission, nominated dealership, could be the good dam weather as far as I'm concerned.

Or this really is a sloppy system, where its a god damned lottery.

i ordered on launch day, my cousin about 2 weeks later
same color, same transmission, both premium pack
and the same nominated dealership.
only diff is he got the nav and camera.
my cousin picks his up this week
my eta is march

Seems that all builds have been sped up, I was quoted 6 months on my 86GTS and I found out I'm getting it early march after ordering it on the 3/01/2013. 2 month wait is pretty well received.

TMCA & Subaru caved in to public & social media pressure & made sure we got a lot more production allocation & quickly. I like many have been & still waiting more than 6 months. Will be 7 month wait when I finally get me car. Consider yourself extremely lucky if your wait is only 2 months, especially for a "hi-grade" manual of the twins. And yes, the TMCA system is odd/unfair.

I asked the dealers about this exact issue, I was told by one dealer that his dealership gets allocated the exact same amount of cars as any other, then I went to a larger dealership and was told they get allocated extra cars based on their sales, which were significantly higher. Which did end up eventuating. Basically what happened was, I ordered, got told It was 6 months, about 2 weeks later the new car manager called me and said they had 4 extra cars coming in march, that were scheduled for build in Feb, he switched out one of the red GTS A/Ts for another in my colour, and luckily, it all worked out. So if anyone else is looking to put down a deposit, my only recommendation is to go to a larger dealership that actually has a demo, and has sold quite a few already.

yes all well for the 86 orders but us ordering a BRZ is in a totally different ball park. Bigger dealerships don't matter, its all done at Subaru HQ. The ratio of 86 to BRZ sent to Australia is hilarious, something like 10 to 1. Filter out the autos/colours you dont want and the amount of BRZ's being sent is very sad indeed.

Hopefully its worth the wait.

It definitely is worth the wait, I'm just glad they brought the BRZ here at all.
Also I'm pretty sure the premium pack with leather seats, etc is assigned to specific cars the same way as colour and transmission.

Yea I guess it'd better than not getting it at all. I think the only thing that wouldn't play a part is the dealer fitted stuff, such as spoiler, sat nav, instrument panel, fuel lid garnish. Makes me wonder though say I order the BRZ with STi wheels (Natalie said they are releasing the STi gear soon) will I get the stock wheels? and stock instrument panel?

My order just changed to 5th April!! Finally an official date!

Agreed :) It feels more real now that there is a date and a VIN assigned to the car.

That's great you guys will be getting them quicker! It will be nice to have you join in the fun on the roads.

Mines changed to on the water with delivery date of 22nd March, I emailed Natalie back in Jan to move to May but she never replied, I've got an overseas holiday on the 24th March. Emailed to confirm that I can receive if delivery can be made before/on eta.

Interesting to see how this plays out.

Oh...now I'm pissed off. The delivery date went from 23/04/13 to on the water and 12/04/13 so I've started chasing finance. Then I've just logged in now and the ETA has changed to 01/05/13. What the hell are Subaru doing?! Makes it impossible to plan my movements.
