definately Work. Im so sick of seeing rpf1's on every tuner car.

PRORICAN 01-05-2013 11:51 AM

RPF1's if you want to have a much lighter wheel and save money. Just like the enkeis the works are on everything too.

DGMBRZ 01-05-2013 11:57 AM

I like the Work's.

You sir have excellent taste. These are the two rims that I have narrowed down my rim selection to as well, but I may go with gunmetal/bronze or gold for my Whiteout FRS. I do think the Work rims look a little better (regardless of popularity and how unique you may be), but the Enkei's are a little more functional in that they're lighter. On Gran Turismo 5, which I've been playing since I've been anxiously awaiting my FRS, I've modded my White FRS to have bronze TE37s and it looks sick! If you are going 18" I take it you are going more for the look and not as much the function (track days etc.), then the Work rims are more aligned with your goals (although they'd cost you some more $$).

Rpf1

Sac-BRZ 01-05-2013 12:22 PM

Either one.. With the Works you will be able to run a wider wheel/tire if you like that. Think you will loose some detail in the wheels if you go black on black.

You can get rpf1's in 18x9.5 +38 5x100 so I don't think going wide is an issue.

Gixxersixxerman 01-05-2013 12:38 PM

I would get the rpf1 if you plan on track days and stuff.. If strictly streets and looks then the works.. I think the rpf1 is a little played out.. But from what I see its one of the lightest and cheapest wheels on the market so I understand why..

I've seen a couple on here and other forums, but they all have been special order. Enkei doesn't list them on their website.

You're right but they're available if he wants them even if its thru a group buy. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24525

Work. I do not like the huge lip of the RPF1's.

Subynewbie 01-05-2013 03:20 PM

I love my Work wheels. I got the matte bronze on my SWP and while I wasn't sure ahead of time, I think they turned out great.

JSUB 01-05-2013 09:05 PM

Work.
They look like my Rota Torque

fatoni 01-05-2013 09:12 PM

the rpf1 is just too cheap and too good. if you are ever in a situation where you think either one would work, why not go with the cheaper option?

Jaylyons1 01-05-2013 10:28 PM

I've never personally been a fan of the Enkei's from a cosmetic viewpoint.

bucket 01-06-2013 02:49 AM

I like the look of the Works better, but the Enkeis are more functional. The Works are going go be about 8lbs heavier per corner.

Jeff86 01-06-2013 03:03 AM

Another vote for rpf1 for the lightness

dori. 01-06-2013 09:46 AM

if he wanted RPF01's for lightness, he'd be getting them in 17"...

that said, the Enkei's are on everything ever, so if you don't mind not standing out, get them.

IMO I'd get the Emotion CR, looks really sex with the concave face

The 18" rpf1's are still lighter than the stock 17's.

adprokid 01-06-2013 12:26 PM

Work are heavy

Turbowned 01-06-2013 12:44 PM

Work, unless this is going to be an all-out track car. I think RPF1's are ugly, but you can't deny how light they are. I'm SO sick of black cars with black wheels, though. Silver would be much classier.

Anthonytpt 02-08-2013 07:46 PM

Which did you end up getting? If you went with work, what size and offset did you get?

Much thanks in advance.

WolfsFang 02-09-2013 04:47 AM

rpf1's not even funny how strong they are. Friend was driving and his wheel flew off and hit a curb at 40~mph and not a dent on the wheel, still holds air.

armythug 02-09-2013 05:39 AM

Cant go wrong with either.

RPF1=Lighter
Work CR=Stand out better

But on a pearl white car I would say that the black Works look better. :happy0180:

RPF1 if you want to maintain rotational weight. I was tossing up between Work Kiwami's and RPF1 in 18x9.5+38. Went RPF1 as it is a lighter rim and I could get them for less.

Kamui 02-09-2013 10:10 AM

I am in the same situation too. I would choose RPF-1 for the price and weight then the Work CR.

Supersonics 02-09-2013 11:14 AM

Am I the only one that thinks the RPF1 looks better?

Nope. It's one of my favorite wheels as well.

Grateful Dave 02-09-2013 12:21 PM

I like my Enkei Fujin's. They are different from everybody and fairly light.

Really? I've had friends bend RPF1's on track days. Apparently they don't enjoy kissing curbs or going off track (according to my friends at least, I've never used them).

I wish 949 would make a 17" wheel. Coming from the Miata scene, those were considered legendary by fan boys because of their low weight and cheap costs. Think they'd look pretty damn good on an FR-S too.

They do. Or at least they did make a 17x9 for the NC Miata and S2000, if I remember correctly. I thought I had seen it mentioned that they were going to make an application for the twins as well, but I can't remember the source.

Touge Monster 02-09-2013 11:32 PM

I like the works I'd love to have a staggered set in 18s purely for cosmetics. I bought a set of black rpf1s in 17x8 for the track purely for functionality but the more I look at them the more I love them. Simply put they both look good IMHO if you want to be a baller get the works.

Wheel left the car?! FYI, a wheel by itself impacting a curb is going to do so with orders of magnitude less force than with the mass of a car behind it...

Not saying they're not strong enough, just that wheel/tire impacting curb isn't a real test.

Another wheel option: Enkei PF01 (which looks a bit like the Work CR)

I have these on my RX-7 :)

They stopped listing them online, so I assume they stopped producing them. I'll keep my fingers crossed though

I dunno, I've seen Works mounted next to PF01, and even considered it but the Works look so much better, more concave, more weight, and just cleaner.

Gearhd79 02-10-2013 06:25 PM

I would go with the Enkei's (RPF1)..everyone with the "fast" cars that Autocross in my area have the Enkei's..In my opinion they are the best rim for the money..light, strong, somewhat cheap.

jdzumwalt 02-10-2013 07:27 PM

Work wheels are sick I will have a set

I am getting Work XD9's for street/show set and RPF1's as track :P
