You are especially popular with young, college-educated men?

Idk I see those Kia things everywhere..

Burrcold 01-04-2013 03:51 PM

FRS - 17 days to turn, BRZ - 18 days to turn...somehow I don't believe these figures (especially since it's an average).

It is an interesting stat. When I bought my Whiteout M/T, my salesman said it had only been on the lot for 5 days and the odometer read 44 miles. The particular dealership I bought from is one of the largest in Central Florida, so I wonder if this affects the 'average'. On the other hand, I have witnessed two FR-S's on a Toyota dealership located in the town I live in (which is a tiny little town) sit for over a month.

Same. it was a Firestorm AT also actually. The dealership has it all modded with S7 rims, Five AD spoiler, lowering springs, intake, and exhaust. As well as leather and heated seats.

Only reason I didnt get it was because i wanted a Raven and MT. But i got mine with 3 miles on it so I cant imagine mine sat long before comming to me

brillo 01-04-2013 05:18 PM

I'm waiting for mine, ordered it two weeks ago. Not a single MT Red FR-S within 300 miles of Houston per Autotrader and the overall MT suppy in Houston is thin (< 2).

Hopefully there is a boat full of them on the way over as we speak.

Try going to the dealer ship web site they tend to have more up to date information the auto trader

My dealer had problems selling AT's, MT's had a wait.

I haven't seen a single one sit at suburu or Toyota dealers here in Calgary. And as for collage educated I'm only a chef and 5 other guys I know in the kitchen have or want one so screw that noise. You don't have to be educated to be smart enough to know this is a sweet ass car.

I live in longmont Colorado

I own a raven manual frs

At the moment at the Toyota dealer there is a asphalt manual and s fiestorm auto

@ Subaru there is a black auto, white auto, and a dark blue manusl

royer23 01-04-2013 06:27 PM

Purchased mine the same day it arrived at the dealership. It only had 17miles on it. there was a 3 week wait after that for another one.

Sigh-on-Rice 01-04-2013 06:36 PM

I think that average comes from...
(1 day + 3 days + 2 days + 1 day + 1 day + 2 days + 1 day + 3 days + 2 days + 134 days) / 10 cars = 15 days/car

The ones with $10k dealer installed options must be taking forever to sell, or even still not sold yet.

that_one_guy 01-04-2013 06:41 PM

the title of the article doesn't accurately describe what the article is about. They aren't talking about which cars are hardest to find, just how long a car sits on the lot.

I pass by a Kia dealer daily that has never had less than 15-ish Souls on their lot. I'm sure each car doesn't spend much time in inventory, but its still readily available.

My FR-S took 2 days to turn, the dealer had several AT that had been their several days though.

DGMBRZ 01-04-2013 06:45 PM

Took me close to 2 months to find mine. I didn't preorder. Started mid April and found one June 14!

Since launch there has been no problem finding either brand or trim levels in New England. Especially now with the crappy weather.

You guys still waiting on yours should have one shipped from sales tax free NH. I know one guy on the forum did that.

The dealer I bought mine from put 20's on their next FR-S. Guess what? Still sitting!

mrjester 01-04-2013 07:16 PM

At Toyota Knoxville, there were 4 on the lot, 2 firestorm, 1 stock whiteout, 1 moded whiteout and my Raven in the receiving warehouse when I bought mine on 12/22. They said they were getting two more firestorms in the next week.

Earlier the same day when I was at Subaru, I was told I would have to wait till mid June before I would be able to get a BRZ if I had put the money down then.

FRSupra 01-04-2013 09:00 PM

The dealer in my town has been sitting on an argento a/t for about 3 months, as well as a rs8 manual for the same amount of time.

Oddly enough there is a small used dealership in the mountains outside my town. Literally in the middle of nowhere, they are sitting on a white-out m/t. The story was

"a young kid bought it and didn't like and wanted a truck instead, all his friends had trucks. We had another customer just look at it and bought the camaro instead."

A lot of people have bought this car because of it's status figure...

jstans84 01-04-2013 09:50 PM

It would be nice if they showed the stats on MT vs Auto. I've seen a few Autos sitting on the lots of dealerships, but never a MT.

SC David 01-05-2013 01:19 AM

Stupid misleading article is stupid and misleading.

tomato86 01-05-2013 01:53 AM

I see the same fr-s sitting on the lot from back in sept when I bought mine. No one wants AT.

That's because "racecar".

I bought a manual because I don't like torque converters. Now if the auto was a dual clutch that can bang out 100ms shifts then I would have gotten that.

These twins are appealing to more than young college adults...they appeal across all generations!
