Thats the bomb.

Sportsguy83 01-03-2013 03:45 PM

LOL, @raul found it too in his FRS. I haven't checked in the BRZ, but I'm assuming its something on the BRZ (Alarm System or Push Start) that has no use in the FRS.

raul 01-03-2013 03:49 PM

Subscribed because this little thing annoys me. LOL

boredom.is.me 01-03-2013 03:52 PM

I'll poke around a bit more to see what else I find.

Kimsey47 01-03-2013 04:04 PM

It will attach to a module for the KERS system currently in development... Just kidding, but wouldn't that be awesome if it was?

Kimsey47 01-03-2013 04:05 PM

Oh, forgot to add... I'll check under my BRZ this evening to see what it is and reply if I can find the culprit.

gmookher 01-03-2013 04:14 PM

I plug in my continue-umm-trans-functioner-doohickey-thingamabob flux capacitor in there, why dont you all use it for the same thing?

Mo707 01-03-2013 04:17 PM

Great.... now this is gunna bother me.....

DGMBRZ 01-03-2013 04:20 PM

Might it be for the under lighting kit?

In glovebox USB?

cruzinbill 01-03-2013 06:37 PM

its the plug for the +200hp module......

Im also interested in finding out, would be nice if its from somthing brz related. which would mean they share body harnesses

j.t. 01-03-2013 10:01 PM

Maybe a plug for the BRZ climate contol system?

FRSFirestorm 01-03-2013 10:10 PM

Looking at factory service manual I'd say its a connector for the optional Automatic AC unit.

a lot of cars just have wires made for all of the cars in the line up. an example would be on lower end cars with manual windows. the wires for the automatic windows will still be there, but the motor will be missing. its just more economical for car manufacturers to design one component set and install them in all of the cars rather than have specially designed ones for every different model variant

Otterbrawten 01-04-2013 01:06 AM

Now I want to know too...

boredom.is.me 01-04-2013 02:07 AM

Since we don't have auto A/C, I wonder if there are any constant voltages running through the connector. Glove box light anyone? :D I need a multimeter.

ProjectD 01-04-2013 03:50 AM

what the hell...now im curious. that extra +200hp sounds nice :D

Were you able to see where this cable plugs in to?

Sorry, had my plans get altered yesterday and forgot to check after getting home... Luckily I am working from home today! I was able to check and I have the same thing as you guys... Just a plug hanging/hidden in some other cables.

Do you guys suppose this for some type of floor lighting option that wasn't offered?

Oh I see I'm not alone in thinking it is for lighting!

hmm could very well be. i wonder if there's another one on the drivers side somewhere...

DGMBRZ 01-04-2013 01:12 PM

Yeah the BRZ brochure had the option but the dealers didn't have any of them in stock. Led footwell lights. Pretty sure it's for that. In my opinion LOL.

It's where you plug in the flux capacitor. Either that or it is for the module that makes sure your floorboard does not fall out when you blow your manifold.

abutterman 01-04-2013 01:35 PM

maybe its for the NOS button

Yeah, I never quite understood that floorboard moment in F&F...

:word:
I believe I remember seeing that option as well... I wonder if any of our overseas market member's have this option on their car? I know I'd like to have some more lighting in the car and especially in the footwell, at least when entering the vehicle!

avusblue 01-05-2013 10:43 PM

Subscribed. And hoping it has a hot switched power lead....
