Wheel Directory: Enkei Fujin 18x8.0 +40

http://www.darrendriven.com/ft86/title.png

Hey everyone,
I'm posting this for the sake of adding to the wheels & fitment directory that I used so much when it came to sizing these wheels.

I ordered these Enkei Fujin's from a vendor on ebay for a great price back in October and they've been sitting in my living room up until this week when I took delivery of my 86.

They're 18x8 +40 fitted with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A 225/40's
I'm super happy with how they look as I was only going for a reasonably conservative look. The only thing I'd change if I could would probably be the offest to at +35 but still happy with the +40. Fairly flush even with the factory aero kit.

Super happy with these tyres too. More grip than standard when you want it and will still slide if you push them. Although I definitely think they are overpriced but I picked them up for pretty much half price on an ebay sale. Usually $500ish a tyre, got them for $260 each.

Excuse some of the photos, weather hasn't been great here since I picked the car up. Also, iphones aren't the best for taking photos of black wheels on a white car.

This spring i'll be swapping to silver RPF1 18x8s, so these will likely be up for sale.

That is pretty much what I would want to do!

Enkei Fujin 18x8 - Fitment Ideas

Just picked up a set of Enkei Fujin 18x8 +40 for $650 delivered (TireRack). They were not my first choice, or even my second... but I could not pass up the deal.

Tire Rack recommends a 235/35-18 (that seems to be an odd size to me... but I figure that rec size puts the speedo as close to stock as possible)

http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheel...in_s_ci3_l.jpg

It will be a while before I purchase tires... and may also do coilovers as well, if so I may bump the rubber past the 235/35-18 ...

I wonder if just a simple lowering spring would drop enough for say 245/35-18 square...?

:burnrubber:

krulux 03-07-2014 01:42 AM

This is what I was originally going for.. figure I can get close with the Fujin's.

thats a nice set up!! but you choice of wheels will look as good with the same drop!

Rican_D 03-07-2014 02:22 PM

35 in my opinion and past experiences is just to thin of a tire. I would go 40/45

I just put a set of 18x8 RPF1 on my car and went with 225/40-18. They're the perfect size IMO.

Thinking along the same lines. I am looking at lowering springs right now - trying to decide on something decent that will drop me 1.5 in the front and 1.ish in the back that will not scrub on a 245/35 setup

I was orignally shooting for the Enkei RPF1 18x8/35's but.. for the price I think the Fujins were to good to pass up and give a somewhat similar look.

Long term - i.e. post pay-off, I'll be moving to something more aggressive as I'll be running a FI solution (leaning SC) and should have enough for nicer wheels, coilovers and BBK's...

Nice.. Pics? (Love the RPF1's)

tennisfreak 03-07-2014 02:54 PM

Damn you got a good deal!

My 17x7.5 Fujin's cost me $720 :(

stock suspension for now. If/when I upgrade, I'm going with @Racecomp Engineering yellows.

Very nice... digging the GOLD on white!!!

Drop it a bit and put a little anodized color red/blue in the middle. Nice.

I went 225/40/18 on my TSP6 (see the tsp6 thread). Looks good to me IMO. I am incredibly thankful especially considering how many potholes are around after this past winter.

The neighbor has 35's on his lexus and bent his wheel twice just in the past two months.

krulux 03-07-2014 06:32 PM

I think I've got it narrowed down...

Eibach Sportlines

http://www.tirerack.com/images/suspe..._4_10135_m.jpg

And a inexpensive set of Hankook V12 245/35/18's

http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires...2evo_ci2_l.jpg

This should complete the "frugal" package I've put together and fit without issue I believe... on the 18x8 Fujin... comments?

(Now just need to save some more... or sell something /hmm :D)

I'm not opposed to the 225/40/18... just wanted a nicer width while still keeping the speedo close.

Efenys 03-07-2014 06:57 PM

Looks good. Only reason why i went with continental extreme dw's was they were on sale. People rave about those tires.

I could not pass up that deal either. Just got them on last week. I went with 225/40/18. Not sure why they reccomend 235/35/18.

:coolpics:

The Fujin's look sleek as hell against the red... Love it!!
They are still on sale right now... hard to beat that price.

I'm about to purchase the tires and springs... decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and do it. I am rethinking the Ebachi Sportlines, thinking I may just go with the Ebachi Pro Kit.

Also torn on the choice of 245/35 vs 225/40...

Scaldy 03-08-2014 12:06 AM

I am amazed and how good this looks. Props to you

ZOMFGAARON 03-08-2014 12:13 AM

These look so good and for that price I'm so tempted to pick up a set.

krulux 03-08-2014 12:44 AM

-update-

Ok.. made the purchase. I ended up changing my mind on the the 245/35/18.. went with the 225/40/18's after giving it a lot of thought.

So I started looking on around on Tire Rack and picked up a decent set of Continental EC's for a song. (Have to admit, there are a lot of choices in the 225/40/18 section)

http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires...ntct_ci2_l.jpg

I also dropped back and went with the Ebachi Pro Kit Springs... should be a gentle 1" drop.

http://www.tirerack.com/images/suspe...8144_140_m.jpg

So.. wheels, tires and springs should arrive next week sometime, will be sure to put up some pictures after the deal is done.

krulux 03-09-2014 01:35 PM

I doubt that I have the courage to paint my new wheels - but I have thought about it some. I was goofing around with Gimp and painted up a few choice colors on the Fujin.

If I did decide to go with a color - I think my Whiteout FRS could look decent with any of these metalic colors.

Im looking for a similar setup. Can u pls post picks once installed with rims on. Really curious to see if the drop is enough! And if the ride will still be somewhat stock-ish

tennisfreak 03-09-2014 10:44 PM

I vote for bronze statue or midnight :)

krulux 03-15-2014 07:26 PM

Ok.. had the rims and tires installed today - still waiting to have the springs installed. Forgive the crappy pictures, just a couple snaps with my phone... and my baby is dirty also - ran her hard earlier... but I think she looks ok in her new shoes!

middle GA? I bet you got tires in one day from tire rack. took them 2 days to get to atl...

krulux 03-15-2014 08:07 PM

Yup - ordered and delivered in two days. The rims came out of Nevada - they took 5 days. Still pretty good though.
