Supposedly made by Inline Racing, saw it on the facebook page of 86Fest. No idea on pricing or availability.

Now that's innovation right there...

xjohnx 12-29-2012 08:19 PM

nice. hopefully the production version has a more finished looking tiedown bar though.

OmarGC 12-29-2012 08:33 PM

@Do Boy

You know availability by any chance?

mechaghost 12-29-2012 08:59 PM

that looks really sweet and bad ass. Can we put some vacuum tubes there to finish the look ;)

I personally don't care if it has a pretty looking tie down bar as long as that one is functional. I wonder how you empty the can though? Do you have to take the battery out each time?

True, and when buying a kit like this from a manufacturer you expect a level of finish. The one shown above looks great for a DIY job, but if they're selling it to the public and can't be bothered to tidy that up, it makes me wonder what other shortcuts they might have taken.

Agreed, it does look a little rough, but if they'd used a beefier band of steel/aluminum and coated it the same as the rest of the case, It'd be perfect. The whole things looks more utilitarian than showy, so adding a showy tiedown would look out of place.

Exactly what i had in mind. A tie down out of that material should be a cake walk for compared to the catch can, would tie the kit together as a complete unit and still look like a finished product.

Red5 12-29-2012 09:25 PM

Still wonder how you empty it. I've never had a catch can, but I've heard they need emptying every so often, so do you have to take the battery out each time you want to empty the can? Obviously its not a lot of work since the new battery is much smaller and lighter, but still an inconvenience and something that would make me less motivated to empty it as often, so it might get neglected and that could cause problems or at least defeat the purpose of the can altogether.

Put a nipple on the front and pit in a valve and call it a day

bakerr6 12-31-2012 11:50 AM

do you know if they have a copyright on the design? If not, I'd like to contact them and see if I can have it manufactured here locally as an individual piece, as they aren't looking to produce it.

Flat Black VW 12-31-2012 12:23 PM

Someone definitely needs to make something like this for production.

Just better not "advertise" in any way, shape or form on the forums without spending the $80/month for a vendor account. Or they'll ban you.

Sent from...somewhere?

not to bad looking, but from my past exp, braile batterys suck in a daily driver. Id rather do a trunk relocation with nice big yellow top.

Do Boy 12-31-2012 07:11 PM

It's not a braile
