By "get these for you" do you also intend to provide on-site installs or tuning? If so, I'd love to hear what you would charge for that.

By "get these for you" I mean we're an authorized dealer, and yes we install everything we sell. We have an incredibly competitive labor rate @$85 per hour. I haven't installed any of these kits yet due to availability, they are all becoming available in January. However, I do not charge outrageous flat fees to install them, once I do a kit, I will know how long it takes and charge accordingly based on my labor rate. That being said, anyone who is the first person to get one installed is going to get a killer discount for being the first install!

As far as tuning, I have not obtained dealer status with Ecutek yet, so I can only supply the tunes that are included with the turbo kits from the manufacturer, you will need a cable if you do not already have one. For the Vortech kit, the tune will need to be obtained from another source unless I can get pipeline for that set up. I have access to 2 dynos locally if you would like to see what your kit puts out as well!

Frostyman 12-27-2012 09:25 AM

wow. 85 an hour?! Dude, Ii'm gonna come visit.

Pure Automotive 12-27-2012 10:19 AM

Any time! I can do Saturdays sometimes if it helps since you're further away

Screw that avo kit. Fb is more power for just a little more money plus youcan actually see it-_-

Frostyman 12-28-2012 10:41 AM

I'm a big fan of all the power the FB kit has, but I like the idea of the instant-on the twin screw will provide. So I'm not ordering anything till I see how good(or shitty) the twin screw kit will turn out to be. Either way, I know who's gonna be doing my install though! :)

I love the power band that people have been getting with these kits. I really don't care about the power. I wouldn't want to put any more than 50whp into this car as I think its fine as is. However, seeing the big drop around 4k gone makes me very happy. ^_^

Frostyman 12-29-2012 05:13 PM

Indeed. And that's what I'm hoping for with the twin screw SC. Instant boost, so you feel it all the time, and no more valley.

Flat Black VW 12-29-2012 05:37 PM

You guys aren't too far away, I may have to come by on a Tuesday one week and check out what you guys are up to.

The torque valley is the single most disappointing thing about the car. I hate that feeling in 2nd or 3rd where the car isn't pulling. That feeling I get from 5K+ I want from 2K onward.

Hey Brady, do you want to make a car meet out of the dyno day after the kit and clutch are installed? I think we could get a good bunch of people out to it if we plan it correctly.

The only problem with that is that its not my dyno and the guy whose dyno I use, doesn't really like when there's a bunch of people crowding around his shop, kind of a liability concern. We can organize a meet at my shop around the same time, but I don't want to bring a bunch of people to someone else's shop that doesn't have a lot of room. I'm going to take video of the dyno runs so that everyone can check it out.

Gotcha, makes sense. Oh well, let's make a meet a drag strip...

At some point I'm looking to get the F14 wheel in either Matt or Piano Black. I've seen them on a few of the twins and it looks good. I'm actually going to put the same wheel on my Boss down the road. Still debating on wheel size.

Most people seem to be going 17x8 for autocross/track stuff, that's the route I plan to go. For looks only, I'd say up to 18's will be good.

_F-R-S_ 01-02-2013 06:37 PM

17x9 + 42 is should be good

There is a guy with a BRZ that went 18x10 all the way around with the F14 and it looks good. However, that's too wide in my opinion. I'm leaning towards a 18x8.5 as its the smallest size offered in the F14 wheel.

I currently have one extra ACT 6 Puck Clutch with 10.8lb flyweel in stock. I bought it before the ACT price increase so its the last one at this price. I'll be installing one this week so I'll be able to give everyone some feedback on how it feels/drives. Its about $250 less than the clutchmasters FX300 but has 10 more ft/lbs of torque capability. It's rated for 345 ft/lbs.

I've got 2 5Axis rear spoilers available and lots of exhaust and intake options that I can have within 2-3 days of ordering.

I've got OEM Subaru Oil filters and access to Motul, Lubromoly, and Redline fluids available same day.

I would love to meet any locals that I haven't met already at our first meet, stop by anytime! I'm in 8:30-5 Monday-Friday, and I usually work late on Mondays, Thursdays, and come in some Saturdays.

Not installing it on your car? Anyway, wanna go to a car meet friday night at 8pm (the one posted on this forum)? We can just drive down in my car or both cars for the meet.

Pure Automotive 01-06-2013 06:40 PM

I'm just offering it for anyone that may be in need, I can order another one for mine, I don't mind to pay a little extra if it means I can pass the savings to a customer.

Yea, hopefully I'll have your clutch done by Friday, if its done we'll take both cars, if not, you can ride with me.
