Will i fit?

I've been following this concept since it came out and it would be a shame if I couldn't fit.

I'm 6"4 340lbs. I fit in a RX8 an Escort ZX2, but not a S2000 and not a Miata. I've noticed this car is super small. I like that. But only if I can fit.

So anyone know, or should I just look at getting another RX8?

Dave-ROR 11-30-2011 02:32 PM

No idea. I'd wait and see I guess.

Crashoverride 11-30-2011 02:38 PM

6'4 should be ok, but otherwise I don't know about the other.

Lol, I'm just a big tall dude. I normally can't fit in a Miata or a S2000 due to my long legs.

BeRZercar 11-30-2011 02:59 PM

Digi, I was coming here to answer the same question. Love the look of it, my impreza is paid off and this would make a great summer car and the impreza as a winter car.

I'm 6'7" 250lbs... If I can fit I'll have one.

NumbersGuy 11-30-2011 03:53 PM

I think this is the question quite a few are asking. I am 6'2, 185, my only concern is if I will have enough legroom, where I won't be hitting my freaking knees when I drive. If so, then I will have to look elsewhere. :(

Digi 11-30-2011 03:57 PM

I think Toyota would be crazy to have this as small as the S2000. I'm hoping they leave lots of room up front, or have seat rails that go way forward and way back.

Rabble 11-30-2011 04:04 PM

Well isn't this just the twenty six thousand dollar question.

I'm 6'3" and I will fit in a BRZ/86 because I've followed this car for too long not to drive the shit out of it.

BeRZercar 11-30-2011 04:06 PM

In Hiroki's BRZ thread there's a picture of a caucasian man sitting in the passenger (left) seat, Hiroki says's he's pretty big, 6' at least. Looks like he has a decent amount of room, headroom too. I want to see a picture of a tall guy in the drivers seat though.

^^ This guy would take the front seat out of this car so he could sit in the back =D

I think the steering wheel and such will be a defining factor for some. The distance between wheel and seat. Normally I can scrunch my legs up to get in but that means the wheel-seat clearance has to fit more leg.

BeRZercar 11-30-2011 04:19 PM

^ My Impreza (07) is pretty tight legroom wise, but my legs are either side of the wheel and I only dip my right knee when I slide in. Carrying someone normal size behind me though I'm almost touching the dash and the dash hitting my shin interferes with the clutch activation. If the lower side of the dash is out of the way I think the BRZ will work for me.

Giccin 11-30-2011 04:38 PM

Might have to invest in bucket seats for you 6'5+ giants.

And to the OP.. I read your title with a dirty mind.

Thought to myself... "MAKE IT FIT" O_O''

Bucket seats help huh? Never thought of that...

Oh, I do.

BeRZercar 11-30-2011 04:48 PM

^ You can get custom seat rails. If the drivers seat is height adjustable you can likely shave some room off by removing that mechanism and basically having it bolt directly to the floor. But if we don't fit with the seat all the way back... you're talking about a full race bucket that's basically a shell in the shape of your back, not cheap or practical for a DD.

You're going to have to invest in P90x or kick back on the Big Macs from now until next summer. If a 6'2 guy can fit, I don't see someone being 6'4 having an issue.

Meanwhile, the supportive and comfortable driver’s seat will accomodate folk up to 6’3” without problems

WildBill 11-30-2011 07:35 PM

The other thing is that if you noticed in the interior shots, the headliner actually has indentions to maximize head room.

Sully 11-30-2011 08:14 PM

I'm 6'4" and fit just fine in my parents impreza. I'm only 180. But my 6'3" 240 stepdad also fits just fine.

So I'm optimistic, since I've never had any head or leg problems in any subaru.

I had an office job for 2 years where I was tethered to a desk for 8 hours. Now that I have a more active job. I dont forsee that being an issue!

Your height will not be a problem, it's the 340lbs especially with those bucket type seats. I had a guard a brutha who was about 6'5 n 350lbs during one of my basketball games and similar to your height/weight.

coyote 11-30-2011 08:54 PM

Everyone is too scared to answer honestly.

No, you won't fit. You are too fat.

The USA makes the best fat people cars in the world. Get one of them instead.

I suspect that was my last post, but someone had to answer that stupid question.

I'll be honest, the number is higher than I actually look/perform. I fit in most small cars, just not the Miata and S2000 due to height and not my weight. I fit in my RX8 just fine. But alas, its not a big deal. I'm out of that damn desk job and already losing weight, I gotta lose it anyways due to the academy coming up. I'm more worried about height/leg room.

poormans_LFA 12-02-2011 01:00 AM

Talking to Jack Hollis last night and hoping to sit in the car (which didn't happen, for me- trousers!!) I asked him what he knew? Hollis @ 6'3" has driven the car twice (so far) and says he fits comfortably. He also said 6'5" is the absolute max with the car stock out of the factory (of course if you move the seat rails back a bit this can be changed). Even at 6'5" he said you'd probably be uncomfortable with your knees rubbing up against the steering wheel. Without shoes, I'm 6'4". Most of the time I wear Converse All Stars and never drive w/ shoes more than half an inch thick in the sole. So I come in at or just under the max. I'll have to wait to sit in the car and make a final call. I've driven a 370Z with my right leg pinned between the steering wheel and the lower center console and that was NOT fun. I refuse to be uncomfortable in any car I'm driving.

No offence bro but you need to cut down on your body fat. Go join a gym and workout like no day tomorrow so when the car comes out, you wont worry about fitting or what not.

This car will be PROBABLY coming out in 5 to 6 months so you have lets say 5 months to drop your body fat percent.

@ 340lbs, you can easily get to 280's in 5 months with a strict workout plan. On the diet part, just cut the sodas and any other sugary drink. Drink lots of water and continue to eat what you normally eat. Just by cutting down on the sodas/any other sugary drink and having a good workout plan can help you cut some body fat.

Your life will change when you get in shape, you can fit in this sexy beautiful car and pick up a lot of chicks with your new body.

I know you have high level of body fat % because you are 6'4 and 340lbs, im judging because i can.

If you really need more information about your current situation, I can give you a lot more information.

edit:

sorry i didnt read your post about you loosing weight, I hope you stick with your routine...

DuMa 12-02-2011 01:13 AM

6'4" 195. im positive i'll fit but im just worried about headroom or else i will have to drive el vato style.

NumbersGuy 12-02-2011 09:48 AM

I just pray my knees won't touch the freaking steering wheel, lol.
