Bye BRZ.. will forever miss you!

Sad day today. I traded my WRB BRZ for a 2013 all black Camaro 2SS RS. :(

mact 12-22-2012 03:46 PM

It truly is a sad day.

Jon H 12-22-2012 03:49 PM

Oh gross.

What was the reason?

Cameronghanson 12-22-2012 03:49 PM

WHY

industrial 12-22-2012 03:52 PM

Really? I drove a Camaro SS a few months ago and thought it sucked. Going straight was fun sure but everywhere else it felt HUGE and tank like, complete with the visibility you'd have in a tank. No offense but I'd never pay for one of those. Mustang is such a better car when it comes to muscle cars.

wtf is a 2SS RS?

White64Goat 12-22-2012 04:08 PM

Hopefully you only bought it for more horsepower and not for off the line or handling performance because they don't hook off the line for squat.

L3P47 12-22-2012 04:14 PM

I love Camaros and all but, in my opinion you should've kept the BRZ.

DarkCard 12-22-2012 04:15 PM

shoulda bought a mustang.

LOL, sums up my feels perfectly.

whaap 12-22-2012 04:23 PM

If it was sad why did you do it? Duhhhhhh

rikdrt1 12-22-2012 04:25 PM

Not knocking what you did.... But 10-20yrs from now.. your friends/kids ask you what you did with YOUR BRZ after only 6months.... Thats the last thing i would do.

Imagine if someone in 1985 traded their Corolla GT-S for a Chevy.

ImAwesome 12-22-2012 05:01 PM

wow

86BRZ 12-22-2012 06:47 PM

I know why...you like Transformer more than Initial D !

JDMenrique 12-22-2012 06:58 PM

he cant be that sad if he chose to trade it in.

ScionFrsFan 12-22-2012 07:09 PM

Maybe he rather have a fast car. At times I wish I had a car with 400 hp lol.

jimmillion 12-22-2012 07:22 PM

this is one of those threads where you just scroll down looking for OP to reply...

I call troll - OP where you at?!

nzer 12-22-2012 07:23 PM

I'm with some of the other comments here - you chose to trade it presumably on a car you prefer, so why would you be sad? :attention_whore:

I traded my Nissan S15 and I do miss her but no way am I sad I did it as I LOVE my 86.

Ay naku!

DeepHunta 12-22-2012 07:55 PM

oh disgusting! But I don't blame you. As soon as the new gen WRX STI is released, I'm trading my BRZ in. Can't stand the lack of power but the cornering speeds make up for it.....for now.

this makes me think youve never owned an ae86. they are neat and had character but significantly overrated

GNS 12-22-2012 08:33 PM

Don't worry, in another 4 months he'll trade his Camaro in for Boss 302.

fistpoint 12-22-2012 08:48 PM

The new Camaro's are really sharp looking cars, but damn they are fat pigs. A Honda Accord is a featherweight by comparison...a family car!

Could you imagine the speed AND handling that the Camaro could achieve if it was around 3200lbs? I bet OP still has a shit eating grin on his face though. Pig or not, fast cars are fun too.

I'd trade an AE86 for a C6 Z06, Grand Sport, or a CTS-V any day of the year.

I like how used cars are tickling onto the market. Still waiting for them to drop to around 20k before I pounce, I think.

OP, enjoy the Camaro. Bonus points if you grow a mullet now! :D

wbradley 12-22-2012 08:55 PM

Not a great move financially but to each their own. I prefer the FR-S personally since it is light and efficient by comparison.
However, congrats and best of luck!

Kilzod 12-22-2012 08:58 PM

Crazy stupid to trade in a car after only a few months, unless of course, you are rich, but in that case, why get a BRZ in the first place?

So far... love the all black color!

I traded it in for more power and a black coupe is more of my taste.

Was driving the BRZ (with stock tires) first time in a month since snow hit Minnesota. I must say, its scary driving it even at dry conditions. I could feel the car just lose control. Tires are too narrow. But then again, thats to be expected with no winter tires.

Its just too light that it drifts way too easily. Can be fun, but dangerous at the same time. But then again, what do I know.... I traded it in for more horse.

Side by side, the BRZ has a better style compared to the C5, but interior wise, the camaro has a lot more room and much more practical.

I do have another car I drive for winter, so snow isnt a problem for me. I'll be storing this in the garage when theres snow on the ground.

Driving home with the Camaro on the same road condition felt safer than the BRZ. Was able to pull at higher speeds without worrying about the car going sideways.

As far as the front license plates goes.... I think the dealership already did the damage on the car and drilled the holes there. Might as well just keep it since its required in the state of MN. I had the GrimSpeed license relocator kit on the BRZ so they wouldnt have to drill holes on the front bumper.

I just cant wait to opticoat it.

Anyone tried it on theirs yet?

On camaro5.com

neutron256 12-22-2012 09:39 PM

Ah we'll, hopefully his BRZ will go to someone who appreciates it, and isn't just looking for a muscle car.

be6sti 12-22-2012 09:44 PM

The new camaro has the absolute worst clutch and shifter feel that I have ever drive ever period... I work at a Chevy dealer.... The interiors stuck... The suspension is terrible all versions suck... The base to the zr1 they're all horrible and I hate them...

I had an SS as a rental when I was in Austin for the F1 race. I could NOT WAIT until I got back in my BRZ.

Sad day indeed.

CTB727 12-22-2012 09:58 PM

I hope he enjoys the cramped and awkward interior. Seriously, how on Earth did Chevy make a car SO big on the outside, yet there's no interior room at all? :iono:

Omg.... This is so true.... Sitting one I feel like I'm in a large room but while driving one I feel like I'm driving a smart car full of shit...

I can do burnouts and donuts in my frs:iono:..why you no buy turbo kit? lol

To each his own, i drove a buddies camaro and i literally could not see anything while backing up, the retro gauges were cool....i guess

SilentAngel 12-22-2012 10:58 PM

I have never liked the new Camaro's. About 2 years ago, before i had heard about the FR-S/BRZ, I saw a Camaro on a dealership and decided to check it out since it was the first one i had seen in person, sat in it and got out in about 20 seconds cuz i was starting to get clastrophobic, which never happens and has never happened since, i had even tried to move the seat. Definately if comparing that car to any muscle car i'd definately take the Mustang, less weight, more fuel economy, and much more interior room and better sound IMO. But very happy with my FR-S and wouldnt take anything for it!

Because GM.

mattles 12-22-2012 11:07 PM

Fail. Financially, performance, and comfort are all worse with the Camaro. Should have got the Mustang dude.
