Corolla is progressively falling to the Focus so I would say this will be a car targeted at the Focus...which will mean it needs sporty lines, carbon fiber, etc. Doubt it'll be rwd or use the boxer engine so it won't really be a sedan version of our car.
Autoweek came to the same conclusion: http://www.autoweek.com/article/2012...ROIT/121229964 |
Toyota FT-86 sedan tipped
Older article but you get the idea
http://www.carsguide.com.au/images/u...our-door-w.jpg Using the FT-86?s platform for a sports sedan (our artists impression pictured) is a kind of insurance policy to cover any potential shortfall FT-86 sales. Quote:

DO IT TOYOTA

Scion could use a compact RWD sedan :D

Nice!

Looks like a tC but with 4 doors.

lol.
Sure, why not. If you're going to go adding doors and stuff though, they'd better consider adding more power. |
Poll added
|
Betcha it's the next Camry. ;)
JC |
lol we just got a new Camry
|
It looks like the rebirth of the Lexus SC 300. This time they'll probably badge it Scion!

From the silhouette picture it looks too long to be a Corolla, then again all these cars seem to be getting bigger. I mean, the newest Corolla seems like it's bigger than an early 2000's Camry. That's just speculation though. This might be the most likely idea, either way.
I think it's too early for an FR-S sedan. Not sure about a tC sedan, doesn't seem like it would make sense. If the poll said what do you want it to be, I'd definitely pick the Mazda-Toyota option, because I'll admit, I'm a Mazda fanboy. |
I'd be down for a nice new RWD sports sedan from Toyota. If they used a stretched 86 platform they might even be able to get decent weight distribution with a 6 up front since there would be more weight farther back for the rear doors, bigger seats, longer roof, etc.

This must be a FWD prototype... look closely at the side view and at how short the front end is... this is most certainly NOT based on the FR-S/BRZ platform. Where's the engine, totally under the windshield? Looks kinda daft if you ask me.
|
If they badge it a scion...It will show Toyota is going full out to change the look of "scion".
lol then everyone who changed there badge to Toyota will want a scion badge. :bellyroll: |

LOL. Wouldn't that be a kick in the head? :burnrubber: |
I like it! Adding a hatchback would be nice too. But need to keep the price reasonable. Upgraded interior would be needed as well.

Toyota has made nothing but garbage for the past 6-7 years. Almost any small car offering available is better than a Carolla right now. Don't even get me started on the dumb ass sheep that buy any of the Prius variations. I'd buy anything Kia right now over its Toyota equivalent.

It's most likely the 2014 11th-Gen USDM Corolla.
If it is, it's due for a remake next year, and it's interesting how they would make a concept car for it. But the last two Corollas were revealed at NAIA and SEMA respectively, without concepts. Toyota rarely makes concept cars for redesigns as well. (Unless it's Scion/Lexus) They could be hyping it? Many sources have already stated that the next corolla will undergo a very dramatic change, yet test mule cars do not indicate that. It looks that trapezoidal wedge-like headlight is going to be making its way into Future Toyota models, we first saw it on the NS4 Concept. |
Heres what another member had posted in the other thread. I'm still hoping for a compact RWD sedan from Toyota :D

Speaking of sedans the new Avalon actually looks pretty good if you were interested in that type of car.
|
who really knows what it will look like in the end. Look how far off our frs/brz was from the 86 concept. But I definitely agree the corolla needs to make a change if it wants to keep up with the trending 4doorsporty thing people like these days...
|
The Yaris is the new Corolla.
The Corolla is the new Camry. The Camry is the new Avalon. The new Avalon is just something new. The Corolla have not changed much in the past 7 years, so I will assume this will be the next gen Corolla. |
Modern age Toyota Sprinter sedan?? That's my guess!
|
2014 Corolla with a CVT....it's coming next year.

The Avensis is actually quite nice looking and i always wondered why that never turned into the Corolla....apparently its a bit bigger than a corolla. IMO the Corolla is going to look like a sedan version of the 2013 Toyota Auris (A Euro hatchback thats pretty much a renamed corolla hatch) |
