Toyota Furia Concept?

Hey, anyone have any more news on this car? Were there ever plans to build a sedan off of the GT-86 platform? If this car comes to market with actual carbon fiber on it, I will be jealous (cause the triplets deserve some CF love)

Seems like an Altezza successor

I got a call from Scion yesterday for a survey and they asked a lot of question about interior space, materials, and back seat room. I told them i would have been happy if it was a 2 seater but it sounds like market research for a 4 door version. With the success they are having you can't blame them, i would like to see a 5 door liftback model with 4 bucket seats and full length console or a 4 door "coupe" a la VW CC.

Is it possible that we will get a Scion/Toyota version of the new WRX since they are saying it will be more seperate from the Impreza it has been based off of?

I would like to see an attractive 4 door performance sedan come from Toyota, like someone said it probably is the Altezza replacement concept, because the timing makes sense!

I think its going bit a preview of the '14 Corolla.

I wouldn't mind Impreza/Scion crossover Twins. It would be better if they were Coupes but ey Altezza/Impreza sound the same :)

They need to use an original name. Mazda had the Furai First, and it's WAY MORE AWESOME!!!

that thing is so cool...even if it is responsible for the crazy smile mazda put on everything

New Altezza would be great!

Grishbok 01-01-2013 08:25 AM

I believe this concept is supposed to be a close to production model. From what I could tell, if its received well, the project would advance. The mazda concept was a gorgeous design study, its unfortunate they decided to expand on the wrong attributes, creating a pokemon smile. If they use the organic lines for a new RX model, they will have a very gorgeous car and finally, FINALLY, return to their sporting roots. Ford has destroyed the mazda name, now that ford is out of the picture, maybe mazda will come back to its roots.

I am very interested to see this release, my assumption is that it will shed some further insight into an altezza or supra successor. I hate to say supra successor because it carries such stigma, but a sports oriented car at that price point.

There is a 90% chance it is FWD.

Aside from the wierdo looking subaru mouth i have a feeling this next corolla is going to look pretty close to the recently released 2013 Toyota Auris, except in sedan form (the Auris is a hatch and theres also a wagon version. Would make an ideal Matrix replacement imo.)

Yeah, I immediately thought of it as being an Auris.

If its RWD and a altezza successor im totally down. i would take this over a twin as I was previously eyeballing an evo though it is AWD. I would still take a toyota altezza remake. Sorry I said it twice, but I fucking loved that car!!
