My dad's GTR was hit by a black escalade at 60mph (he was going only 40) at 4am in Atlantic City the other night and the scumbag never stopped. now $10,000 worth of damage is all on him and his insurance.

Not even 3 days later, my brz was parked in center city Philadelphia right outfront of my workplace. I was almost done work when and a sewer company truck just finished doing work underground. He was pulling out of an alley (my car was parked in the cornerspot) when he cut the turn too much and almost ripped my entire front bumper off. When i realized what had happened i was in immediate disbelief. I keep seeing damaged brz/frs on this forum but i never thought it would happen to mine. sorry if the pictures are oversized i havent discovered an easy way to upload pictures properly.

Wow man, bad luck :(

M-17 12-13-2012 03:58 PM

That sucks. I would have thought the insurance company would take care of that damage on the GT-R?

zuldajin 12-13-2012 03:58 PM

wow...

hope you guys find the scumbag driver of that escalade and punch his teeth in.

ihaskrayon 12-13-2012 03:59 PM

Your pictures are a little small. I can't asses the damages done to your vehicle.

Jokes aside, is the sewer company paying for your car to be fixed?

kykiee 12-13-2012 04:00 PM

damn that sucks big time! where are you located in jersey?

Beyer Subaru 12-13-2012 04:02 PM

Happens to all of us brother. Sucks. Be it a door ding, rear ender, fender bender, etc.. We all get it somehow. Glad to see that no one was hurt. You can always fix the cars but it's harder to fix you.

nbafandan 12-13-2012 04:04 PM

no :( i'm so sorry =(

wbradley 12-13-2012 04:08 PM

Dumbass prolly still had his head in the sewer!

Wish my dad drove a GTR. Ummm, but he's 84 yrs old so not.

ategs1992 12-13-2012 04:49 PM

im from the cherry hill area.. a little town called stratford, i bartend in center city philadelphia though. and yes the sewer company is paying for all of the damage. including the towing process. i found out today i will be without my car for at least two weeks. even though nothing will be coming out of my pocket, its devastating knowing that this happened. i have to say it was the worst feeling of my entire life when i saw what had happened

Kevin@RAD 12-13-2012 04:51 PM

I'm glad no one was hurt. A car is a car, albeit the cost, but it's definitely better than a limb or two!

You are obviously quite young. Hopefully that will be the worst thing you will have to deal with for a long time still.

and yes. i am only 20 yrs old

Gregory Gawaran 12-13-2012 05:07 PM

Sucks man, I am suprised your dad didn't chase him down and at least get the plates. I am sure he would have caught up with little to no problem. Hopefully you guys get both pieces of art back into tip top shape.

DarkSunrise 12-13-2012 05:16 PM

Philly drivers are horrible.

zc06_kisstherain 12-13-2012 05:18 PM

sorry to hear that.

ModBargains.com 12-13-2012 05:32 PM

That'll buff right out...

In all seriousness though, hopefully that gets taken care of quickly, and Karma sets in for those guys who just ditched the crime scene... Really sucks, but I hope for the best.

samfrs 12-13-2012 05:56 PM

This is horrible man , anyways I think I saw this black brz traveling on the boulevard to center city not long ago. I could be wrong though

Eurasianman 12-13-2012 05:56 PM

When I came into this thread, I just looked at the pics before reading anything and thought the BRZ clipped the GTR seeing as the correct corners were damaged (no offense as well as I'm sorry to see this happened to both vehicles). Hope your vehicles have a speedy recovery as well as glad to see no one got hurt.

I saw a Black Limited at Wegman's in Cherry Hill a couple months back. Not sure if that was you though. You will never see me around during the day. I work in Bala Cynwyd, PA. You will either catch me to work early in the morning or during evening heading home.

I know it is bad and you feel really down about it. Hopefully, this is the worst feeling you will ever have to experience during your lifetime. If it is, then you will have a great life.

The escalade rear ended him while he was about to enter a ramp onto the ac expressway, then the escalade dipped off to stay om the road they were previously on. while my dad had already entered the ramp. i wasnt in the car but obviously it was a VERY unfortunate situation that couldnt have been avoided

+1

It's only a thing, and can be repaired/replaced.

My condolences, all the same.

slaxx 12-14-2012 12:32 PM

That's terrible, sorry to read about it.

And someone poked the Jeep's eye out...

BRZnut 12-14-2012 06:31 PM

I think the jeep poked its own eye out after he saw what happened to his brothers

brzninja 12-15-2012 09:30 PM

Sorry to hear man...especially about the GT-R. I dig your yellow fog lights. This is why I pay $75 a month for parking at work. Pittsburgh parking is a pain...I can imagine Philly is just as bad if not worse. Here hoping it all gets sorted out quickly and painlessly.

fistpoint 12-15-2012 09:54 PM

Sorry to hear about your BRZ. Moving on, I'm surprised at how little damage the GT-R appears to have based on what you said hit it and how fast(roughly 20mph). How the hell is just that bumper cover a $10000 repair? It looks like all the lights and side panels are fine, even the defuser at the bottom. Is it an $8000+ bumper?
