So you're the one who picked up those rims from importmonster ;D What tyres did you end up going with?

6-Shift 12-13-2012 03:56 AM

Looks great! Although with bigger wheels you have to get bigger brakes to fill that extra space ;)

Haha nagged Aaron for ages wanting a set in this fit. Likely fitting Federal RSR's for street in 235/40/R18 and RE55's for track.

Thanks, brakes definitely on the cards. We had a 1000mile / 1500km drive the other day through a lot of twisty sections and really pushed the brakes to their limit. Better fluid, lines, larger rotors and pads are in plan.

Any idea on how much weight you gained from the new wheels/tires?

Seems to be a reduction which is pretty significant. But that is based off the existing 215/35/18 tires fitted which are being swapped for 235/40/18's, so I'd assume another +1/2kg, putting it in line with the stock wheels.

But I have heard a case of these wheels with R888's fitted weighing in at 17kg (35lb).

Just fitted...
* Advan AD08's
* Cusco Power Brace
* Cusco Strut Brace + BCS

Pros: Huge reduction in twist in front end, handling improved dramatically, better turn in, less roll. The new level of grip is borderline ridiculous with the AD08's. Haven't been able to notice the BCS yet.

Cons: Have a lot more susp chatter over uneven surfaces, upgrade required asap. Also, personally don't consider it a negative but some may - resonating vibrations coming through the firewall.

Just fitted...
* RS*R Ti2000 springs
* Re torqued the power brace - loose bolt causing rattle.
