Seriously though, it's not bad. Not pretty thought unless you love the desert. I'm envious of you guys with green around your tracks. |
Cleaned up. Will leave posts discussing the videos/tracks in the videos.

You might want to consider putting your face shield down and the reason I say that is if you go and search the NASIOC website and search in the 'MOTORSPORTS' thread, search for "Deer Hit-Hyperfest" and watch the video, you will know why I say that.

Track: MSR Houston (CCW)
Car: FR-S Mods: 5-W30 Pennzoil Ultra oil and 17x8 +36mm offset Kosei K4R wheels with 215/45-17 Kumho XS tires. Notes/Comments: Driving only about 90ish % due to this is my DD and occasional track car a few times a year and the brake system was stock everything. Last session of an open track getting back into the swing of things (been a while since I was last on track) and I forgot to turn off the nannies...arrrrRRGG! At least I know how Sport Mode is (turned it on once realized that I forgot to press the button to turn everything off) on track with high grip tires...it sucks! At least it was a hard lesson that will make sure the nannies are turned off before entering the track from now on! I really need to edit the video from the test and tune day at Buttonwillow last weekend... with Coilovers on ;)

I have one from SoW CCW but haven't done anything with it either.

Dave, what was your main driving force behind the trip to Mid-Ohio or Ohio in general? As you said, that's a good distance. Did you make the drive in the brz or did you trailer the car up? Sorry for all of the questions. I have a list of things that this car will do/see so I'm rather interested to hear how others have done.
Too many tracks, so little time and money. :) |

I drove it, didn't trailer it. |
You had me at Great Lakes Brewing. lol That sounds like a great trip. If you find yourself up this way again, shoot me a message. As for track days at Mid-Ohio, if there are any others that pop up here that you know about then make sure to post them up in the Great Lakes section. There's a few of us that would sure like to hear about them.

Track: Pacific Raceways (Seattle WA)
Car: ITA Prepped Honda CRX Mods: .040 D16a6, I/H/E, Tune, FD, LSD, brake ducts, R-Comps, Koni Dlb Adj/GC's, really good looking driver (my favorite mod of course) ;) Notes/Comments: During this lap I reset the track record for ITA but then the car behind me reset it again. In Sept of 2012 it was reset AGAIN be another 4 tenths. Next year 2 corners should have new pavement so we're both expecting to reset it again in 2013. BTW: the braking into the inside line is because he's right behind me and I'm maintaining a defensive line and this is during a race. Track: The Ridge Motorsports Park Shelton WA
Car: ITA Prepped Honda CRX Mods: .040 D16a6, I/H/E, Tune, FD, LSD, brake ducts, R-Comps, Koni Dlb Adj/GC's, really good looking driver (my favorite mod of course) ;) Notes/Comments: During a test day with the racing school we were there with our race cars to get a feel for the newly paved surface. In this video I do a 2:02. During the ITA race weekend my best time is a 1:58.9 and I do currently hold the track ITA track record there for our Conference (by half a tenth!). This the track I instruct at and it's a hoot in an FRS but unfortunately I don't have video. Track: Button Willow Raceway Park Config #27 (Full West Loop)
Car: Scion FR-S Mods: None Notes: First event for this car since owning it. Stock front tires chunked pretty bad on the outside edge, stock brake pads not so good, and the brake fluid boiled. Notes: Huge improvement in grip and braking over stock. That is pretty crazy. If you haven't already, make sure to stop into Grove Street and have a local beer. That is if they are still open, since evidently much has changed since I left. |

Well I'll be. I moved back here in the summer of 2011. Legalization and now a track in Shelton... I'm starting to wonder why I moved back. lol.

Updated directory. I didn't add Rice's ITA vids to the list (trying to keep it FRS/BRZ only) but leaving them in the thread since they are good vids :)

Car: Scion FR-S Mods: Buddy Club Racing Spec coilover suspension, Enkei RPF1 17x9 +35, Hankook RS3 245/40/17, Project Mu B-Force pads, Motul RBF600 brake fluid. Notes: Video of my friend in his RSX with Ohlins coilovers, light flywheel/clutch, I/H/E, Stoptech BBK, and 241 whp. Weather conditions were around 45º F. Tires took a while to come to temp, so I was slip-sliding around :) My best lap of the day was 1:27.5 [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ycYqHqg4N0"]Scion FR-S Extreme Speed track event at Streets of Willow Springs 12/15/12 - YouTube[/ame] Video of my friend in his RSX following me. Track: Thunderhill Raceway, w/ Cyclone (Willows, CA)
Car: 2013 Subaru BRZ Mods: Mostly stock. Carbotech XP8 front brake pads, Motul 660 RBF, Berk catless front pipe. Stock suspension, stock tires. Notes: It was a rainy day, so slippery conditions and traffic prevented me from doing a really clean lap. This was the best one captured on video, even letting a car past. 2:46 Video 1: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvuS0y2m-oc"]Thunderhill Lap 8 Dec 23 2:46 - YouTube[/ame] Video 2: this one was my 2nd best lap, could have been faster but had a yellow flag near the end, think the WRX/STI ahead of me went off track... 2:51 [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZl3JRcfHbM"]Thunderhill Lap 6 2:51.56 - YouTube[/ame] |

Track: Willow Springs International Raceway (Streets of Willow CW) 1-19-2013
Car: Scion FR-S Mods: Buddy Club Racing Spec coilover suspension Enkei RPF1 17x9 +35, Hankook RS3 245/40/17 Project Mu B-Force pads Motul RBF600 brake fluid Buddy Club Spec-II cat back exhaust Perrin rear adjustable sway bar end links Cusco rear lower lateral arms DIY custom oil cooler kit with Greddy 13 row core, Mocal sandwich plate and Earl's -10 lines Notes: This event was a blast. It was the first FT86 cup event (results don't count toward championship) and I was happy to place 2nd place in the Under Class :) There is some good footage of @robispec behind me as well! My best lap is a 1:27.3, but I know I have room for improvement. Thunderhill Raceway Scion FRS
Mods: Project Mu pads
Date: 11/18/12 The car is stock other than Project Mu pads on Centric Plain rotors. Fastest lap was a 2:16, but I forgot to turn on the camera! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ygFm0vSzmc"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ygFm0vSzmc[/ame] |
Track: MSR Houston (CW)
Car: FRS Mods: Stock everything. Notes/Comments: Participated in the Novice group at the local Houston M Club Track day. I pushed the car about 95% almost losing it but eventually caught it. After watching the vids, pretty sure my times could be a bit better with different lines. The car feels like a big go kart that does go tail happy but it slides right back into place. Future mods will have to be suspension, brakes, wheels and tires.
