Pensacola Area Meet and Drive
 

Hello Everyone,

Our last meet was over in Spanish Fort, trying Pensacola this time. The plan is to meet up on Saturday, December 22nd at the Dairy Queen/Exxon on Scenic Highway (exit 17 on Highway 10) at 10am. We'll hang out a little bit (probably 30 minutes or so) and then head out on a drive. Should be out for about an hour and a half to two hours (the distance is approx. 92 miles) and it will bring us full circle back to Pensacola in time for lunch.

if it was a little bit earlier i could come out for the meet up.. but have work at 1030.

I'm not positive if I have something going on that weekend yet or not; If I'm free I'll be there.

Looking forward to seeing everyone. Have one snag though. I went and tested the route that I was planning to go on and found that its...not good. There are some curves, but its mostly straight and flat on roads that are rough and poorly patched up. I am working on some other route, but so far I havent had much luck. The only route I've done in the area that was decent was the one from the meet a month or two ago, starting in Spanish Fort. If anyone has any ideas feel free to voice them or let me know. I still plan on doing the meet one way or another, just not sure on a route for a drive.

Since we don't have mountains there really aren't any great roads for driving unless you want to do double the speed limit. We could just take Scenic south and head over the bridge and into Pcola Beach and head down the beach road to Navarre beach or we could do some Interstate runs over to Hwy 87 and then down to Navarre Beach and take the beach road to Pcola Beach.

Wish I could make it. Feel bad not showing up after I helped "organize" our first meet. IF I make it at all it will only be for the meet n greet. G/f son bday party is Saturday.

I totally understand. If you can't make it, no big deal. There will be other meets. I'd like to do a meet once a month or so and keep varying the location.

Anybody interested in moving it up to earlier maybe 9am so that Evan could make it before work?

I have an appointment at 8:30...i might be able to do 9:30 or later, not sure. I will also see if i can get it changed.

Update, I switched my appointment, so I can make it earlier on Saturday if everyone else decides that is what we want to do.

Earlier is definitely better for me.

So lets plan for 9 am instead of 10:30. Sounds like we will have more people if we do it then. Same place, we can work out a route (like going down to the beach or something) from there.

Gonna try and make the meet but won't know for sure till morning. May see y'all there if not, everyone enjoy and I'll definitely see y'all the next time.

Thanks to everyone who came out today, it was fun. Lets try to do another meetup in January.

We should meet up all together for a bigger outcome. Somewhere between Pensecola and Tampa?

I'm up for a big one somewhere in the middle.

A big one would be great. Could get people from Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Pcola, maybe others from different areas. Something like Lake City or Tallahassee is kinda in the middle of..everywhere.

So.. A Central FL meet? or all of FL?

Not sure how it would be classified..central and north florida meet? Could invite everyone, but if we are meeting between Pensacola and Tampa, it would likely be a shoutout to the upper half of the state..imo. Dont know how many people would want to drive up from Miami to Tallahassee or Lake City to do a meet. Also, I dont really know anything about those areas, just suggesting a city based on relative driving distance between Pcola and Tampa.

So can we get a thread started? Maybe someone living in Tallahassee cam suggest a meet location and a drive route. Drivers from all sides could cruise in together to form the big meet there.

Wish I would've seen this thread earlier, I drive a raven FRS on coils with 5 ad wheels in fort Walton. When/where is the next meet?

That is a good question. I set up the last one (I think..back in december) so I was hoping someone else might take the lead for the next one.

How about working with @King Tut to setup the drive from the Pensacola area to the ALL Florida Mega Meet :D

Well, a meet covering all of Florida requires a good amount of time to plan and make happen.

Do you mean it because its far distance wise or date wise?

I know it was... hence my question, did you mean you want to time travel because you think its too far away (and would time travel and skip the hours it take you to drive), or because you think the date is too far ahead (would time travel ahead to the date)? Regardless, it doesn't mean you guys can't do a meet before March 9th. Just alerting all FWB/Pensacola area owners of the upcoming Mega Meet.

Oh and also of note: The date was selected via Poll; March 9th got the most votes :happy0180:

I was trying to make a joke, the date on the poster for this event is march 9 2012, which would be last year so we would have to travel back in time to attend. (88 mph to go back in time)

I could help (and if needed, would do so), but I cant go. Money/14-hour drive/just got back from vacation there all adds up to not being able to talk the wife into letting me do it. :(

I think I saw your car leaving Eglin a couple weeks ago. Is it lowered with some serious camber issues in the back? Anyways, it looks like we have 2 others in FWB that are wanting to go to the big Florida event on March 9th if you want to come with us.
