So anyone else LoLing at all the Autoblog Haters?

http://www.autoblog.com/2011/11/26/e...ves-june-2012/

Lol so sad.

So many ignorant people.

KevinDuMa 11-27-2011 11:51 PM

Don't even get me started...I enjoy going to autoblog to catch up on news but man the posters on their are stupid. Every post has to do with either "needs more hp", "american muscle is the way to go" or "i'd rather get a hyundai".

Zaku 11-27-2011 11:52 PM

Im pretty much shaking my head at them to be honest, I like going to autoblog too but it's all Hyundai and GM fans there

rL-gT 11-27-2011 11:53 PM

Lol so true.

They hate on ANYTHING Toyota / Lexus Related.

cambo 11-27-2011 11:54 PM

Shaking my head while I was reading what they posted.

tripjammer 11-28-2011 12:02 AM

Yeah the posters suck on Autoblog...Real haters...

tranzformer 11-28-2011 12:03 AM

Kinda off topic for this forum. Maybe you should move this to off topic section.

You kind of can't blame them though- Afterall Hyundai is thinking about putting a 435hp V8 in their Genesis Coupe called the Hurricane, and we have ZL1 Camaro's & ZR-1 Corvettes that smoke anything much less also a Cadillac with 556hp straight from the factory. Its kind of hard to accept the facts. We will have to wait and see the reviews of the new Toyotas, Subarus, and Scions first. I dont even know of the closest Subaru dealer around me I never have seen one, Scion alot of people dont think too highly of, and Toyota im not sure if their model is going to make it to the US or not. Does anyone here even know if the Toyota version is going to make it here or not? I know the Scion & Subarus are but the last I heard there wasnt going to be a Toyota version in the States which would be a shame.

WingsofWar 11-28-2011 12:05 AM

Just a bunch of horse power freaks with no money. It's kinda fun to read but gets annoying.

Society has really turned to shit. lol

Edit: Reading comments like the ones in 4chan and Autoblog makes me drop IQ. And deteriorates my brain cells. Lol

quik1987 11-28-2011 12:17 AM

More cars for me

exmayol 11-28-2011 12:18 AM

Yeah I am amazed by amount of negativity this car gets... the so called auto enthusiasts who just go by numbers and personal likes way too much...

Longhorn248 11-28-2011 12:27 AM

The scum of the earth always decide to show their faces (well actually they hide behind a computer) in the comments sections of the internet.

Dark 11-28-2011 12:40 AM

Real haters indeed. Anything Toyota/Lexus/Scion is bad.

This should come as no surprise, it is 4chan after all!

OldSkoolToys 11-28-2011 02:57 AM

Let 'em hate.

You think current 86 drivers are now immune to that crap since its popularity exploded? No sir. You learn to just laugh and shake your head at 'em. There's literally no way on this planet to make them understand.

touge-n00b 11-28-2011 04:25 AM

You know personally I don't mind all the haters and naysayers That just means it'll be easier for the rest of us to buy one.

especially if there's only going to be 1000* per year for each brand...

More haters and ignorant people just means I can get mine the first year.

*(I was skeptical when the 3000 total number came up on NASIOC a while back but Leeky's info seems to confirm it)

SUB-FT86 11-28-2011 05:38 AM

Yeah, I can't stand the comments either. The difference between me and those guys is they want 300+hp/300+tq out of a turbocharged engine with AWD while all I want is a FA25 N/A.

Levi 11-28-2011 06:36 AM

Come on, leave those idiots. They have no clue and neither money to get a Porsche or Ferrari. Let them drive their so to say "drag monsters". Thanks to the GT86/BRZ we shall know who are the real car enthusiasts.

Me too all I want is a NA 2.5l. Cosworth will surely come with an engine kit, before I swap to 2013 WRX turbo engine.

ZetaVI 11-28-2011 07:05 AM

Haters like those happen all the time. They completely write off a car because it doesn't have enough HP or Torque or of that matter. They don't mention a good engine or being fun to drive but how fast it is and if it isn't fast enough they won't even consider. People who think faster cars are better and make them better drivers! HA!

I'd say it's mostly 50-50.... A lot of people on /o/ actually like the 86 as well.

AlphaReddy 11-28-2011 08:05 AM

yea I like to check autoblog too, but seems like a lot of the commentators there already made up their minds

mhj555 11-28-2011 10:59 AM

Well, for anyone who's idea of "driving" is going in a straight line for 1/4 of a mile, this car will probably be a disappointment. REAL drivers, who actually use the steering wheel and can go around curves, will find that the 86 can easily beat those horsepower monsters.

I see the 86 as a practical, low cost Lotus Exige, which can kill cars with 2-3 times the horsepower of its 1.8L Toyota engine.

Since when did the GT86 get it's 2L engine changed to a 1.8L.

I don't even see it as a practical, low cost Elise let alone an Exige. It's more like a 2+2 hardtop Miata or S2000.

Reading comprehension fail.

Ikaros 11-28-2011 11:23 AM

Many of these haters have a really juvenile way of looking at cars. "Oh this car had 200hp more than yours! It must be better." Well that doesn't tell you anything about how the car will perform, other than it can go up a straight hill really fast. Hell instead of telling you how good the car company is it just makes them look lazy. That 556 HP Cadillac mentioned above is a 6.2L. To be a good engine in mind is to have it produce more than 100HP per L without turbocharging. With a 6.2L engine the Cadillac should produce 620HP if it's any good. It just shows how crappy their engineers are to be honest.

I guess when I think about it, I was pretty dumb when I was 12 years old too. Maybe they will figure it out eventually. I'm certainly not going to waste my time arguing with them.

I heard from some host from Top Gear saying that they have proof that the Camero's, Mustangs, and high powered Caddies are designed to last 3 years till they fall apart.

If you heard that on the show it was probably a joke, or are you saying this is inside information?

Dave-ROR 11-28-2011 01:41 PM

Top Gear tends to hate US vehicles. Modern Top Gear is an entertainment show, not a legitimate review show.

it depends. there is a message in every review. is the segment laced with hyperbole and they make mountains out of molehills? yes. but after you wade through the BS they do raise questions about the car that may or may not affect you. the best part about Top Gear is that they are unafraid to call a car rubbish if it is in fact rubbish.

They also aren't afraid to call a car rubbish based on personal bias..

that's why there are 3 presenters, or should i say characters. in the segments where each of them have a car, they extol the greatness of their own cars, while insulting the others. its rife with exaggeration, but alas there is commentary in there somewhere. what you do with it, is up to you.

and in the segments where only one presenter drives the car, after the taped segment ends and they go back to the studio, they oftentimes question/debate the comments made in the taped segment. the bottomline is that behind the humor and explosions, behind the staged events, there is a message that you can take away. what you do with it, again, is up to you....

Syldrin 11-28-2011 04:19 PM

often an exagerated message but yea a message.
