I will periodically report the statistics so we can all see what's going on with the leadtime and shipment of cars. It's so frustrating waiting for your car and being in the dark on the process.

They told me 3-5 months when I placed my order. They had only sold 2 BRZ's so they still had allocation so I got allocated a car from the next shipment. The 2 prior to mine only waited 3 weeks for their cars.

Story: Back in March I inquired with a dealer about the launch date (which was unknown at the time) but never placed a pre-order. They noted my preferred configuration then I just forgot about them because I decided to wait for the 2014 model year. May comes around and the dealer calls me saying they got one of the first in the country in my specified configuration with no BS markup. Considering how this car was hen's teeth at the time, I asked myself: "Should I wait one year before I live the life I want (which isn't even guaranteed) or should I take advantage of this opportunity that people kill for and live in the moment?" So my BRZ came in 1 year sooner than expected. :)

I don't see the point in waiting 2-4 months for these cars. They don't come in many variations. I was able to find mine sitting in a showroom for about 3 months. I think it makes much more sense to hit up all the dealerships in your area or if need be, take a road trip or have one shipped for a few hundred bucks and get it in a week. From what I've seen recently, these cars are all over the place, You may have to bite the bullet on the color but I could've lived with any of the colors on this car because... its looks damn good either way.

No wait at all. I walked into the dealership and they had a black one out in the parking lot and a world rally blue on the show room.

I notice so far that everybody has ordred a limited! and the average wait is about 3-4 months.

I'm I the only one to order a Premium? The 2,000$ package is a steal though I must say.

Just got an estimate for my vehicle from the dealer: January. Making my order lead-time worst case 2 months!!! Excited.

If you ordered in November, no way it's January unless your dealer still has original unsold allocation.

The Futurama fan inside of me wants to believe you, but the car guy is telling me to tell you f*** off :P

Seriously, how can I check this? I've called SOA and they are supposed to e-mail me with information tomorrow.

I don't think you can. I'm hardly an expert, though.

I ordered in July. My dealer had eight cars in the original allocation, and I was order number ten. I called SOA in August and in September, and both times the rep took my contact info and told me they'd get back to me. Which they did - by telling me to call my dealer, who knew nothing more than I did.

Back then at least, I don't think SOA had any idea about anything. All they can say is "you're on the wait list", unless your car actually has been built. SOA is just a sales company, they don't have any insight into the manufacturing process AFAIK.

Unless order volume just fell through the floor after summer, I'd think any orders placed after, say, August are probably looking at the April or later timeframe. My dealer told me (and I've read similar here) that Subaru is advising dealers to set the customer expectations for May, for orders taken later than September I think.

I originally ordered a Premium, but the wait was TBD. About a month later, I then took someone's spot at another dealership, which was for a CBS Limited with TBD delivery date. Then, Memorial Day weekend (about 3 weeks later), I got a call from my local dealership that they had an SSM Limited in-house that had been backed out on, and was available that very day. I bought it. :P

Post #10, I ordered a Premium as well. Not interested in the extra stuff or the price on the Limited. If I could have gotten my BRZ even more decontented I would have.

Tried buying one back Aug.. Couldn't find one close enough since I had a trade, so I gave up. Always checked car.com and noticed local dealer had it in transit. So I called them up, no one had a deposit for it so I put my deposit down! :D

I am still waiting. Ordered it in August. But I was able to procure one elsewhere and buy it. I still have my deposit at the dealer. I'm hoping they keep my order in the system so that they will at least get another car in my area.

No wait for me! Passed on a DGM BRZ-L at Napelton Schaumburg because the sales guys were TERRIBLE (and extremely pushy). Ended up going to Evanston Schaumburg and dealt with both Omar and Mike and bought a SWP BRZ-L that day.

If you're in Chicago (and looking for a BRZ), I would highly recommend either of them to help you out. :party0030:
